Tommy Mottola has signed a multi-year, first-look deal with Entertainment One (eOne) for scripted and unscripted television programming, the studio announced Tuesday.
The first project under the deal is “Harlem High,” set at Freeform, which will follow diverse students involved in a Harlem high school’s show choir. Mottola created the series, and will produce with writer Sam Laybourne with Overbrook Entertainment.
As part of the deal, Mottola will serve as an executive producer on all television projects, and will develop and produce original programming with eOne, while eOne will serve as the studio and control worldwide rights for all projects. Mottola will also act as a consultant for eOne’s music and live entertainment business.

Vafiadis becomes senior vice president of development at Relativity Television’s Ellen Rakieten Entertainment, the production company set up by The Marriage Ref producer in association with the film company, which coproduced and distributed films including Shark Night 3D, Immortals, Haywire and Act of Valor.

Exclusive: The CW has picked up two episodes of Perez Hilton Superfan, an unscripted series featuring the celebrity blogger getting close and personal with a different superstar each week. The series of specials was originally commissioned by U.K.’s ITV2 in November with a four-episode order, which premiered in December (trailer below). The two specials acquired by the CW showcase Lady Gaga and Katy Perry. Superfan hails from Chris Coelen’s Kinetic Content, Scotland-based Stv Prods., GroupM Entertainment and The Collective. ITV2 has given a four-episode order to Perez Hilton Super Fan, an unscripted series featuring the celebrity blogger getting close and personal with a different superstar each week — including Lady Gaga, Kelly Rowland, Katy Perry and Enrique Iglesias. The series, which will premiere on ITV2 in December, hails from Chris Coelen’s Kinetic Content in collaboration with Scotland-based Stv Prods., GroupM Entertainment and The Collective. Kinetic will be shopping the series to U.S. networks in the next few weeks. Internationally, it will be distributed by Drg. Coelen, Hilton, Stv’s Alan Clements, GroupM’s Richard Foster and Tony Moulsdale and The Collective’s Steven Grossman will executive produce along with Kinetic’s Jennifer Danska and Matilda Zoltowski.

Coelen is launching the production company, which will focus on the development and production of unscripted series.
He has started to assemble Kinetic's creative team, bringing in three executives he worked with at Rdf -- Jennifer Danska, Gerald Massimei and Katie Griffin -- and hiring former "Dancing With the Stars" co-exec producer Matilda Zoltowski.
Zoltowski and Danska will serve as senior vp development and current series, respectively. Massimei has been named vp development and current, and Griffin is manager of development.
Coelen is still hiring and expects to end up with a team of 8-10 creative execs.

He is launching a production company, Blackbird Television, inking an exclusive one-year first-look deal with Rdf USA.
At Rdf, which has a fluid executive structure, Goldman was a member of the senior programming team alongside Mike Duffy, Lauren Gellert, Claire O'Donohoe and Jennifer Danska, all of whom will continue to oversee the company's slate under CEO Chris Coelen.
