Sex and the City had many intense and incredibly interesting side characters. Some showed up in more than one episode, but most guest characters appeared just once. Even one-time appearances left a mark on the series and helped elevate the show. No guest star had more of an impact on Sex and the City fans than Lexi Featherston, though. The boisterous party girl appeared in just a single seaosn 6 episode and died in it. The character wasn’t made up. At least she wasn’t entirely fictitious. Lexi Featherston was based on a famous Manhattan club owner. The series also mentioned that real-life club she owned, but two seasons earlier than Lexi’s appearance.

New couple alert?! Glee star Dianna Agron and Josh Hutcherson got fans buzzing after attending Amy Sacco's Bungalow 8 pop-up club in Los Angeles over Oscars weekend. But before anyone declares these two a new item, E! News has the honest truth. "Dianna and Josh are just friends," a source revealed to E! News. "There was no Pda, flirting or kissing." And what about Page Six's report that they looked "like a new couple" on the dance floor? Don't read too much into it. "Diplo came out unplanned and Josh hit the dance floor with Dianna," the source added. "They both love to dance and have a good time but they are definitely just...

The Golden Globes festivities kicked off last night with W magazine's annual star-studded private party at Chateau Marmont. You know you're in the place to be when you see Superman (Henry Cavill) talking to Lois Lane (Amy Adams) on a terrace overlooking West Hollywood just a few feet away from Captain America (Chris Evans), who is having a drink with New York City's nightlife queen Amy Sacco. On the other side of the terrace, Jessica Chastain is taking pics with W's editor-in-chief Stefano Tonchi as her hot Italian boyfriend Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo talks with some friends. Reese Witherspoon was also there. Cara Delevingne wore a very short white dress and carrying a small...

Robert DeNiro ran the Cannes Film Festival jury in 2011. He told me that when Steven Spielberg was named the head of this year’s jury, the “Lincoln” director called him for advice. “I told him, Have fun with it. It’s hard work but he’ll enjoy it.” DeNiro also says Spielberg will not be able to screen the movies on his yacht anchored off of Cannes that resembles a floating country. “You have to be in the theaters,” said DeNiro, who as a constant and genial presence in 2011 all over the Croisette. “He can’t watch them on a boat.” Spielberg has chosen an all star jury to help him cast ballots this year. Among his choices: Oscar winner Nicole Kidman and two time Best Director Ang Lee, as well as two time winner actor Christoph Waltz. The jury is as well known this year as the stars in the movies say some wags.

The British singer-songwriter will perform live May 17 for Worldview Entertainment, a production and financing company with three films in the festival. This is arguably not the best time to be releasing a new film titled “Killer Joe.”
Thankfully, this gleefully twisted Nc-17 trailer-park thriller has nothing to do with events like those that horrified the nation at the end of last week, when a former grad student named James Holmes killed 12 people and injured many more during a screening of "The Dark Knight Rises" in Aurora, Colorado.
The title character of "Killer Joe," played with sociopathic charm by Matthew McConaughey, is a Dallas police detective who moonlights as a hit man. Joe is bad, bad news, but it’s hard to say if he’s worse than the spectacularly dysfunctional family that hires him. There’s Chris (Emile Hirsch), a down-on-his-luck drug dealer who hatches the idea to kill his own mother so he can cash in on her insurance policy; Ansel (Thomas Hayden Church), Chris’s rock-headed father, who half-heartedly...

Remember when Justin Timberlake maybe hooked up with Scarlett Johansson way back when she starred in his music video? Well, the freshly single stars are hanging out again in NYC. They had quite a late night together, according to Page Six. Photos: New York Party Pics Justin and ScarJo hit Soho hotspot Kenmare and stayed out until 3 a.m. with nightlife maven Amy Sacco, but the two didn't look all that cozy. "It didn't look particularly flirty," says their spywitness. "Scarlett was dressed down and remained low-key with Justin and the group." Two girls later joined their party, which didn't stop until 3:30 a.m. Also on the party circuit...

Julien Marinetti. From Wire Images.“I’ve always wanted a puppy! I’ve been asking for one every day lately,” Amy Sacco said last night. “So I finally just got one.” The nightlife maven was co-hosting a party for the Parisian artist Julien Marinetti’s new series of “Doggy John” sculptures—brass-and-lacquer French bulldogs, which the artist calls “support surfaces” for the intricate, trippy paintjobs he applies on top—in the Madison Room of midtown Manhattan’s New York Palace hotel. Wearing a black dress, Sacco unzipped a tiny clutch to introduce her new pet, which she calls Petit Jean. Sacco, who has recently opened Bungalow 8 outposts in London and Amsterdam, added that her new best friend fits nicely in a seat on a Virgin Atlantic airplane, “so I can bring it to both continents; it’s perfect.” She met Marinetti through their mutual friends Tom Ford and Richard Buckley.

Sapphire, Lee Daniels, Gabourey Sidibe, General Colin Powell. From PatrickMcMullan.com. "Every time I get to New York I get nervous because of the New Yorkers," joked director Lee Daniels when introducing his new and much buzzed-about film, Precious, at the Cinema Society and Tommy Hilfiger's screening on Thursday evening. He had nothing to fear, however: the movie was a resounding success, with many a viewer—including model Agyness Deyn, nightclub owner Amy Sacco, and Keith Richards spawn Alexandra Richards—leaving the theater drying their eyes. "It wasn't until the movie was done that I realized how daunting it had been," said a beaming and pregnant Paula Patton. "It took me a few months to shake that character loose because of dealing with difficult subject matter day in and day out." Screenwriter Geoffrey Fletcher explained his tactic in adapting Sapphire's book Push: "I think this is a perfect novel,...

As surely as weighty new catalogues from Design Within Reach and Ikea land with a thump at your door, the fall design season awaits on the far side of Labor Day. This is the customary moment for design editors to preview fall events. The predictions and appraisals have added intrigue after a year freighted with uncertainty. It's hard to gauge the design field during the dog days of summer. So the weeks ahead will be a test: with the economy mustering itself, will design pick up where it left off a year ago, or will it take off in new directions. The clue may lie in these seven events:
The Paris design show is the first wet, red finger to the wind. Architecture is slow to register culture changes because the design and construction plays out over years. Smale-scale design, like tabletop items and textiles, is fare more responsive, and...

1. Theodora Richards. 2. Alexis Bledel and Amber Tamblyn. 3. Lydia Hearst. From PatrickMcMullan.com. Vf Daily’s picks for the top three parties around the globe last night. Three for Three What: The third, and thankfully final, night of Topshop parties. Where: The Box, New York City. Who: Topshop groupies (Kate Moss, Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony, Zach Braff, Theodora Richards, Lily Donaldson, the MisShapes, Eva Amurri, Emma Roberts, Amy Sacco, Debbie Harry, Spank Rock, and, obviously, Sir Philip Green) and Topshop newcomers (Simon Cowell, Kevin Spacey, Seth Myers, Blake Lively, Penn Badgley, James Blunt, Hamish Bowles, Jamie Johnson, Gordon Richardson, Richard Chai, Rory Guinness, Tara Subkoff, and Byrdie Bell). Why: It pains us to include this on the best-party list because all this hoopla has been over a store opening, not the birth of the new messiah; however, for the third night in a row, the guest list was, well, tops. Talking Point: Livers in overdrive.
