Where has Minister of Comedy TJ McGee been all of our lives? TJ was
born in Mississippi, raised in Chicago and Los Angeles. TJ began his
comedy career in Chicago at the young age of 15. A master of
impersonation, he frequented clubs such as the Chicago Improv and
Zanies where he met Dan Ackroyd and John Belushi, to name a few. TJ
moved to Los Angeles where he continued his comedy career at the world
famous Comedy Store along side Robin Williams, Sam Kennison, Andy
Kaufman and other comedy greats. After many engagements doing secular
comedy, TJ came to an impasse when he wanted to quit comedy, because of
the conundrum that most comedians go through. "Is this where comedy is
going? Is this what comedy is all about?" A spiritual awakening came to
TJ and he dedicated his life Christ to deliver a clean act that is
geared toward a family audience and is not only uplifting and
entertaining, but also spiritually sound with a message. TJ earned the
nickname "The Minister of Comedy" due to his unique style of taking
musical lyrics and making a sermon out of them. TJ was cast as one of
the original members of "In Living Color," and was invited to make
several appearances on BET Comic View, HBO Def Comedy Jam and headlined
the top comedy clubs across the U.S., earning standing ovations at his
performances! TJ McGee is a 22 yr member of SAG/AFTRA. He has played in
film, television, and commercial roles. TJ is an extremely versatile
artist who appeals to all ages and backgrounds. His Ministry of Comedy
will speak to your hearts and make you fall out of your seat laughing.
He's not just funny, TJ McGee is Hilarious.
