- He began his career in 1983 contributing music photos to Detroit's News-Herald and later on contributing to music magazines including Rolling Stone. In 1987 at the age of 18, Carlini went on tour with the band Tesla who were in support of Def Leppard's Hysteria tour. He did tour photography and was published on his first tour poster. From the late 80's onward, Carlini went on to tour with many bands and his images have graced the covers of albums and Cd Booklets. His photos have also been used in posters, tour books, guitar tab books, music photo books, video boxes etc. Magazines include Billboard, Kerrang, Metal Hammer. In 1992, well exploring the idea of also shooting Fashion. Carlini relocated to New York City.
In 2001 Carlini reunited with the band Tesla and was hired to be tour photographer on their much anticipated Replugged reunion tour. Carlini photographed and designed the packaging for their double live album titled Replugged Live, A single Disc version titled Standing Room Only was also released.
Outside the music industry, Gino Carlini also photographs architecture. His architectural photos have appeared in " From House to Home", Home & Design and Detroit Home.

- Detroit native Gino Carlini being a well known and published Music photographer, was asked to be the official Still Photographer for the film "Corrupted Minds" (aka Detroit) when Director Brian Lawrence had seen some published images Carlini had taken of singer/actor David Bowie. In the early fall of 1997, Carlini came on to the project and worked closely with Cinematographer Lon Stratton. He also makes a brief appearance in the film toward the beginning, when the day player/extra for that role didn't show up for that day's shooting. Lawrence asked him to put down his camera's and be in the scene. Gino had never acted before. The director said he was on his mark for every take.
Carlini's 1989 fully restored Trans Am was rented by the production and used as the car driven by the character Nick as played by Elton Litzner. - Currently resides in Detroit. Working on Film and Tv Productions.
