Detroit native Gino Carlini being a well known and published Music photographer, was asked to be the official Still Photographer for the film "Corrupted Minds" (aka Detroit) when Director Brian Lawrence had seen some published images Carlini had taken of singer/actor David Bowie. In the early fall of 1997, Carlini came on to the project and worked closely with Cinematographer Lon Stratton. He also makes a brief appearance in the film toward the beginning, when the day player/extra for that role didn't show up for that day's shooting. Lawrence asked him to put down his camera's and be in the scene. Gino had never acted before. The director said he was on his mark for every take.
Carlini's 1989 fully restored Trans Am was rented by the production and used as the car driven by the character Nick as played by Elton Litzner.
