“We met at the [2007] Espy Awards,” Kim told Access Online. “My stepdad, Bruce, and I were walking to our seats and Matt called my name. When I went over, he was sitting with Reggie…. Matt introduced me to the love of my life and we will always be grateful.”
In February 2010, it was rumored that Reggie had proposed to Kardashian at Miami restaurant Prime 112. A few days later, his team, the New Orleans Saints, went on to win the Super Bowl. Kim denied the rumors on her blog.

Hello Dankness.First the chaos of Trump’s little era, then the grief of the pandemic, and now cinema is becoming indistinguishable from the internet. The newest work from Australian duo Soda Jerk devises an ultra-endurance meme sequence for these times. Hello Dankness, which screened at this year’s Berlinale Panorama, explores the madness of US politics in the age of social media—or, rather, the reeling feeling of it, revisiting the major news stories bridging the Trump and Biden administrations through over 550 pirated audio and visual clippings.Currently based in New York, Soda Jerk consists of siblings Dominique and Dan Angeloro; they are major artists in their home country, with serious institutional support and a burgeoning international reputation for experimental image-making from the frontlines of dystopia. The early incandescence of gallery works like After the Rainbow (2009)—a deeply affective reflection on stardom, loss of self and Judy Garland’s...

Before philanthropist and real-estate developer Eli Broad and his wife Edythe opened The Broad museum in downtown Los Angeles in 2015, the couple housed their Broad Art Foundation in a 1927 brick building in Santa Monica, about a block from the beach. Early works in their collection included pieces by such artists as Barbara Kruger, Christopher Wool, Jeff Koons, Ed Ruscha, Cy Twombly and Glenn Ligon, and the space became a must-visit for collectors and curators during visits to Los Angeles.
But after the museum opened, the Broads sold the building in 2015 to a limited-liability company, according to the Wall Street Journal, tied to the family of designer Diane von Furstenberg. The sale price eight years ago: $16.5 million.
Now, the building known for its connection to the art world has a new owner who comes from the music world: Scooter Braun.

Forty years ago in Los Angeles, the decision to invest millions in a museum dedicated exclusively to contemporary art — not to mention its formerly desolate downtown location, where the vibe was more apocalyptic than artsy — was a risky proposition. But now that the city’s cultural heart has shifted south of Hollywood, it seems visionary.
And thanks to the Museum of Contemporary Art’s new director Klaus Biesenbach, what once seemed bound to be a big flop was buzzy on Saturday night, with the Moca Benefit gala attracting an eclectic crowd that included punk rockers (Patti Smith) and politicians (Mayor Eric Garcetti) as well as pop stars (Katy Perry and Ricky Martin) and leading men (Keanu Reeves and Orlando Bloom) to its benefit.
“I’m excited about Klaus leading the museum because he has a vision and he’s someone who is willing to take risks,” said the Mayor of...

“Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj” may debut new episodes on Sundays, but its latest installment shows that the point can still get across throughout the week.
In a recent episode that focused on the ultra-popular streetwear brand Supreme, “Patriot Act” combined an examination of how modern consumer hype is manufactured and what forces might be contributing to it behind the scenes. Looking at the concept of conspicuous consumption, the episode also outlined how 50% of Supreme is now controlled by the Carlyle Group, a private equity firm the show traced down to military profits and defense spending.
To further illustrate the Carlyle Group’s involvement in the company — and the idea that Supreme liberally borrowed the idea for its iconic bright red box logo from the artist Barbara Kruger — the show launched the Carlyle Supremium website, offering a limited amount of parody Supreme white t-shirts based on a number of concepts from the episode,...

2017-12-20T07:15:59-08:00Activists Go After Meryl Streep in Los Angeles
After Charmed star Rose McGowan implied on Twitter that Meryl Streep helped to cover for accused sexual abuser Harvey Weinstein, activists in Los Angeles began a campaign of publicly shaming Streep for her alleged complicity. McGowan later claimed that she never said Streep knew about Weinstein's actions, but she also deleted the tweet in which she strongly implied it. Apparently others decided to act on her initial statement instead of her revision.
