Emmy voting has closed, but for those who just can’t get enough, many costumes from Emmy-nominated shows have taken over the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (Fidm) Museum in downtown Los Angeles.
The exhibition showcases costumes from over 22 programs, 13 of which are Emmy-nominated in the three different award genres: period, contemporary, and fantasy/sci-fi. The series will run through Nov. 5.
Costumes on display include the iconic red swimsuit from Hulu’s “Pam & Tommy,” the regal gowns from “Bridgerton” and outfits worn by Jean Smart in “Hacks.”
Nick Verreos, Fidm chair of fashion design, highlighted some of his favorite outfits. Verreos tells Variety, “Of course, all of the costumes are highlights, but the Emmy nominees are the real stars of the show.”
“The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” costumes by Donna Zakowska.
“These costumes from ‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel ‘ are from Season Four, when the series transitions into the 1960s.

It was bound to come up at some point, given the nature of reality contest shows. Just as ex-White House press secretary Sean Spicer was destined to stomp his way through the salsa on “Dancing With the Stars,” Wyoming native and Big Apple designer Tyler Neasloney, 29, went where no other cheeky contestant on Bravo’s revived “Project Runway” had dared to go — until now.
After landing on the bottom for this week’s challenge that required contestants to sew a stylish outfit for host Karlie Kloss to wear in Paris by repurposing second-hand clothes from a Goodwill store, Tyler was harshly criticized for his ensemble that looked as if it was meant for office worker Barbie doll, not an upscale American look. It was his third strike after landing in the bottom twice previously and he was the fourth designer to be eliminated from Season 18.

The Oscars red carpet is an incredibly glamorous experience, whether you’re just walking or fully working. But for stars in the latter camp, including The Insider co-host Debbie Matenopolous, you need a dress that looks fabulous on camera, won’t steal the spotlight from the nominees and is comfortable enough to stand in all night. It’s a tall order to fill, which explains why Matenopolous (who is also the co-Host of Hallmark’s Home & Family and the author of It’s All Greek to Me) turned to pal Nick Verreos to create something custom for her from his Nikolaki line.

If it were up to us, "Project Runway" would never be "out," it would just play on a loop 24/7/365.
Sadly, Season 14 will say auf wiedersehen on Thursday, November 5th, so now seems like a good time to take stock and rank the previous 13 seasons, with the expectation that the 2015 season will probably fall somewhere in the middle of the pack once it's done. (Tim Gunn "hated" Season 14, but there have been worse.) Every season of PR is a precious, unique little rhinestone, but, like the judges, we have our favorites -- and now it's Our turn to be biased.
So here's our very subjective but still definitive worst-to-best ranking, which may only be challenged by a glare from Nina Garcia, an eye roll from Michael Kors, a "make it work" from Tim Gunn, or an "out" from Heidi Klum.

Nobody but Tim Gunn can make a phrase like “Make It Work” stick in the pop culture lexicon. In many ways, that’s exactly what he’s done his entire career, from his influential work from 1982-2007 as Associate Dean and, later, Chair at Parsons: The New School Of Design to the show that made him a household name (and earned him an Emmy!), Project Runway.
Gunn has a brand new entry for his resume, headlining competition series Under The Gunn, which premieres tonight on Lifetime. Gunn watches over former PR contestants Mondo Guerra, Anya Ayoung-Chee and Nick Verreos as they mentor designers in teams that will compete against each other until the contestants are whittled down to one winning designer.

Forgive yourself if you took a look at the trailer for Tim Gunn's upcoming Lifetime reality series "Under The Gunn" and couldn't quite catch the differences from that other fashion competition he's busy with, "Project Runway." He sympathizes with you.
"I wouldn't expect you to," Gunn jokes Thursday (Jan. 9) at the TCA winter press tour when one reporter admitted they couldn't quite distinguish between the two series. "I'm grateful for the question. ... We took the best parts -- well, I shouldn't say the best parts -- the parts that I love about 'Project Runway.'"
Ultimately, the new series aimed its focus on Gunn and his mentorship role. "Sara [Rea, executive producer] huddled and really came up with this concept about me being sort of the big daddy, mentoring mentors who are mentoring designers in the work room," Gunn explains. "So you see a different dimension than you do on 'Runway' -- in fact,...

Everyone knows the No. 1 reason to tune in to "Project Runway" is to see mentor Tim Gunn scare the crap out of the contestants and force them to do their best design work every week. Now, the fairy godfather of fashion competitions is getting his very own show on Lifetime. It's about time!
"Under the Gunn," premiering Jan. 16, 2014 at 9 p.m. Et/Pt, is a new twist on the fashion design competition that could essentially be described as "Project Runway: Phase 2." Gunn hosts a competition between "PR" alums Mondo Guerra, Anya Ayoung-Chee, and Nick Verreos as they mentor and manage their own groups of designers -- basically, they're competing to be the new Tim Gunn.
The judges are designer Rachel Roy, stylist Jen Rade, and Marie Claire senior fashion editor Zanna Roberts Rassi.

We can quibble about the name Project Runway: All-Stars, since I don't see prized contestants like Nick Verreos or Jillian Lewis in this lineup, but the second installment of Lifetime's alumni competition is probably going to be entertaining all the same. Truly. There are enough wild cards at play here -- each equipped with a wildly different skill type and level -- to make the season worth a run. The only problem? We need to rank which of these all-stars is destined for success. So here, just two days shy of Thursday's premiere, my predictions for the rankings of Project Runway All-Stars' new season. Spoiler: Pretty sure I made it work, guys.

Los Angeles -- To create the Oscar-nominated costumes for "The Artist," designer Mark Bridges had to think in both color and black and white.
"Things that you wouldn't notice in color suddenly showed up when it became black and white," he said. "A simple beaded flapper dress suddenly became maternity wear."
The costumes from "The Artist", a black-and-white silent film, can be seen in all their brilliant colors at the Fidm Museum & Galleries 20th annual Art of Motion Picture Costume Design Exhibit, which is on view until April 28 at the downtown Los Angeles campus. Admission is free.
There's the flirty orange dress Peppy Miller (Berenice Bejo) wears when she first catches the eye of George Valentin (Jean Dujardin), and the pale green raincoat and floral umbrella she uses when she visits his house during a storm.

Just when you thought there was a reality competition show for every occupation (singers, fashion designers, chefs, hairstylists, interior designers, construction workers, to name a few) Logo has created The Arrangement. Tenley Young, a UCLA graduate, hit hard times last year and moved back in with her folks after losing her job. Shortly afterwards she learned of The Arrangement and auditioned.
Now she is one of ten florists fighting for the top prize of $25,000 in competitions like creating floral hats to match a Nick Verreos dress and decorating a display mannequin with living materials (think Tournament of Roses Parade).

Daniel Franco, double "Project Runway" ejectee, has taken up reality show hopping.
"American Idol" got a special visitor on its Los Angeles audition show Tuesday night (Jan. 26) when Franco showed up to pay tribute to Season 8 runner-up Adam Lambert.
"If Adam Lambert and Susan Boyle had sex, which is pretty farfetched," Franco quipped. "I'd be it, pretty much."
Franco was part a montage that included people who dressed like Lambert as an homage and to be noticed at the auditions. At 38, Franco exceeds the audition age limit of 28, so his presence was obviously a joke. It's no "Pants on the Ground," but we'll take it.
On the first season of "Project Runway," Franco was ignominiously booted out on the first episode. Undeterred, he pleaded his case and was accepted on the following season of "Project Runway." After a few highs and lows, he was eliminated in the fourth episode, inspiring...

Heidi Klum went all out for her 10th annual Halloween party at Voyeur in La on Saturday. She and Seal looked amazing as they arrived dressed as black crows just weeks after welcoming their new daughter Lou. Heidi's party is always huge and she revealed that the elaborate costume planning starts every year in July. Rachel Zoe looked beautiful dressed as an Indian warrior princess with her hippie husband Rodger, while the ladies of the Vampire Diaries posed together on the red carpet. Paris and Doug managed to stand out in the crowded club when they arrived in matching white tutus, Paris dressed as a swan princess. Once inside, Heidi and Seal mingled with guests, looking unrecognizable in their incredible masks and face paint. The photo loving pair took pictures all night long as Heidi kicked off her hot boots and got comfortable on the couch. Jessica Alba and Cash Warren...

So how many of you counted on Christopher being the last "Team Gay" member standing? I'm proud to say I've been with him since day one, and knew he'd make it through!
That just leaves those five pesky straight designers in his way.
Before this week's challenge even begins, Christopher (like many of us) is wondering what the hell he has to do to get back in the good graces of the judges. He tells Logan:
I've put out pieces that I like, But I've got to get the judges to get it. During this whole process, I've been all over the place. Congratulations, congratulations, great work, good work, stunning, fantastic ... now sucky, we hate it, we hate you ... you're fat.
Poor Christopher. On the plus side, at least we don't have to listen to Nicholas making this speech.
This week's challenge begins with all six designers in chairs, facing away from the runway.

Talk about a blast from the past! On Thursday's Project Runway, the six remaining designers came face to face with their winning designs -- except for Logan, who has never won a challenge -- and were asked to design a look they could pair with the outfit. Theoretically, it was an opportunity for everyone to shine, to revisit past glories and create something new and stunning. In reality, though, some of the designers produced ho-hum pieces while others seemed to rip each other off -- or as Irina (sort-of) diplomatically noted, there was a lot of "resemblances" in the workroom. Logan vs. Althea: Logan decided he needed to amp things up this week, so the designer bought 50 zippers from Mood which he decided to incorporate into his garment. His concept? Create a collar made out of said zippers -- only the idea wasn't so fresh. As Althea pointed out, she...
