When the news came that Power Book II: Ghost was ending, I'll admit it floored me.
Since the ending of the original Power, the continued universe has seen much success. Still, being the first and a direct continuation of the original, Power Ghost has probably amassed the greatest popularity.
But they say all good things must come to an end, and the end of Ghost has me wondering what happens next for the longstanding franchise.
We know that another Power spinoff is coming; this one is a starter story for Ghost and Tommy.
Power Book III: Raising Kanan has proven to be a compelling and worthwhile look into Kanan Stark's upbringing, and considering the franchise's track record, there's no reason to believe the Ghost and Tommy spinoff will be any different.
Everything started with that duo, and it feels like a no-brainer to explore their beginnings and expand things through their backstory.

Fans now have a detailed first look at what Kanan Jarrus looks like in live-action in the Star Wars universe.
Part of the excitement for Lucasfilm’s Ahsoka as it aired was how it would feature the cast of Star Wars Rebels for the first time.
Sadly, Kanan was destined to not be included in the fun. That is because the Jedi made the ultimate sacrifice in the last few episodes of Rebels, which cost him his life.

Never say never.
We should know better by now as Power fans to assume anything because rarely are things exactly what they seem.
And Power Book III: Raising Kanan Season 3 Episode 10 was the kind of hour that makes you remember why the Power Universe is one of the best things on television.
This whole season has been building toward Raq versus Ronnie, Lou-Lou confronting his demons head-on, and Howard either getting away with it all or finally getting his comeuppance.
And the finale didn't disappoint in getting us a lot of answers.
Coming off the Power Book III: Raising Kanan Season 3 Episode 9 cliffhanger, we quickly learned that Raq and Marvin didn't kill their younger brother or leave him somewhere to fend for himself.
Instead, they enrolled him in a posh rehabilitation center, which wasn't surprising. No matter how frustrated they became with Lou-Lou, he's still family. And even in anger,...

Hello, and welcome to the Scene 2 Seen Podcast. I am Valerie Complex, an associate editor and film writer at Deadline. Today I’m chatting with Power Book III: Raising Kanan star, Patina Miller. As a major talent across film, television and musical theater Miller portrays Raquel “Raq” Thomas on the Starz original series which is coming up on the end of its third season.
Raising Kanan is the third show in the Power Universe. This one is about a young Kanan Stark (played by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson’s character from the first series) and how he joins his family’s growing and dangerous drug business. It takes place in Queens, New York during the 1990’s.
Raq is the mother of Kanan. To Kanan, she might come across as affectionate, yet on the streets, she embodies the epitome of toughness, navigating the male-dominated world with a blend of coldness, determination,...

Lou-Lou has officially hit rock bottom.
We’ve watched the youngest Thomas brother slide into a violent tailspin all season, which has seen him really give up on living his life. He’s still breathing, but he hasn’t been living for a while, instead caught in a vicious cycle of agony.
And while he’s been trying to evade not only his feelings but his family as well, that all came to a halt during Power Book III: Raising Kanan Season 3 Episode 9.
Everything that could be said about Lou-Lou at this point has been said.
We've seen him struggle. We've seen him falter. We've seen him put himself and others in danger. But more than anything else, we've seen him silently begging for someone to help him.
It may not seem like he wanted help when he was waving a gun around every corner, but when faced with feeling...

Where do we even begin?
Power Book III: Raising Kanan Season 3 Episode 8 was the best hour this season, with several storylines moving forward and setting up the final two hours in spectacular fashion.
There's almost too much to unpack after this one, but I will surely try.
Overall, Power Book III: Raising Kanan Season 3 has been a bit of a slow-moving affair; even though the friction between previously tight-knit groups and the deaths have been coming fast and furious, it's felt largely subdued.
And that's not a negative thing, but it's felt a little off at specific points in a way it hasn't in past seasons.
Everyone is so scattered, but it truly feels like everything will converge over these final two hours, and we may be in for yet another bloody final chapter.
Raq spent much of the early parts of the season reiterating she was out of the...

Remember that whole truth setting you free thing? Yeah, well, Lou-Lou found out the hard way that the saying doesn't always come true.
And in a season that's seen him try to break free from Raq's influence and follow his passions, his quest to liberate himself from his past has put him right back in it.

Quiet hours, which this one was purely because no one died, can be just as devastating as the ones rife with violence because they force you to think and question things more.

"Star Wars Rebels" is one of the best things to happen to the "Star Wars" universe. Where "The Clone Wars" had a sprawling story with plenty of characters and an unfocused story that instead gave audiences different plotlines, "Rebels" gives you a classic "Star Wars" adventure.
The show focuses on the Ghost Crew, a small ragtag crew of misfits making their way through the galaxy before eventually getting involved in the birth of the Rebel Alliance. Like any classic "Star Wars" story, there are a couple of Jedi in the team -- Kanan and Ezra -- and they are two of the best Jedi characters in the franchise. Their relationship is familiar but fresh, with Kanan not being a traditional teacher because he never finished his own Jedi training. This means Kana understands Ezra's flaws and his anxieties better than anyone, and has little prior knowledge that can help him...

Remember when I said Ronnie would be a problem last week?
Well, yes. It's becoming abundantly clear that Ronnie's single-minded focus on getting back into the game and not accepting any disrespect could set him on a collision course with his brother and everyone that gets in his way.
If Power Book III: Raising Kanan Season 3 Episode 4 taught us anything, it's that Ronnie is on a mission and no one is safe.
Since Ronnie showed up, his stoic and quiet nature has been off-putting and curious, but in recent weeks, we've started to see the violence behind his quiet nature.
You'd be well within your rights to refer to him as a silent assassin because that's what he is. He doesn't say much, but what he does say holds meaning and value, and when he strikes, it's hushed but no less deadly.

Ronnie is set to be a major problem.
Power Book III: Raising Kanan Season 3 Episode 3 felt like another set-up hour, as we're slowly getting into the meaty part of the season. New business opportunities are arising, the FEDs are upping the ante, and the family dynamics are floundering more than ever.
Things may be moving slower this season, but the series is still as engaging as ever.
One thing that feels different about Power Book III: Raising Kanan Season 3 thus far is how fractured and separated things feel, even though it's to be expected.
The core family unit of Raq, Kanan, Marvin, Lou-Lou, and Jukebox isn't what it used to be, and it adds this interesting layer to the season now because everyone is genuinely off doing their own things independent of one another.
It's not as if every storyline ever has involved the whole family working together like some Jamaica Queens Scooby gang,...

Talk about an explosive season premiere.
Power Book III: Raising Kanan Season 3 Episode 1 dropped us right into the fallout from the various attacks on Raq and her family, setting the stage for Raq to make a decision with severe consequences for herself and her loved ones.
It's a hauntingly visual hour, with many emotional moments for characters who'll need to figure out what their lives look like moving forward, most notably Raq and Kanan.
With the mother and son relationship fractured at best, Raq and Kanan head into Power Book III: Raising Kanan Season 3 further apart than ever.
During the Raising Kanan press day, TV Fanatic was lucky enough to jump on separate zooms with series stars Patina Miller and MeKai Curtis to discuss their character's relationship and other topics as this season begins.

Ah, it's good to be back in the Southside, where family dynamics are more fractured than ever, the cops are swarming, and Kanan Stark has finally begun to look like The Kanan Stark.
Power Book III: Raising Kanan Season 3 Episode 1 was a stellar start to another season of a series that has exceeded all expectations since its debut.
Things in Jamaica Queens have never been more unsteady, lines never clearer, and we've only just begun.
One of the best aspects of the premiere was the decision to drop us right back into the madness that was the final moments of Power Book III: Raising Kanan Season 2 Episode 10.
Where they could have easily employed a time jump, allowing wounds to heal and cooler heads to prevail, we dove right back into the aftermath of the mafia attack, with a badly injured Marvin literally taping up his would and Raq finding a way to cover her tracks.

This article contains spoilers for "Star Wars: Ahsoka" episode 8 — "The Jedi, The Witch, and the Warlord."
Season 1 of "Ahsoka" reintroduced Grand Admiral Thrawn, one of the great villains of "Star Wars," to a galaxy far, far away. Created by Timothy Zahn, he originally started as the big bad guy in the "Heir to the Empire" trilogy of books that first began in 1991 and helped kickoff a new renaissance of "Star Wars." He's been a fan favorite ever since.
One of the big concerns from fans when Disney decided to officially relegate the only marginally canon novels that had been published to that point into "Legends" was that Thrawn was no longer a part of the official "Star Wars" continuity. That changed when the third season of "Star Wars Rebels" arrived and the character stepped in as the major villain for the rest of that show's tenure. Timothy Zahn was also...

Every "Star Wars" project goes through the same cycle. At first, there is intense hatred when it comes out, with people nitpicking every single thing and criticizing it for being a betrayal of George Lucas' original intention. Then, time passes and the projects are reinterpreted with greater context and some of the more criticized elements become assets. Then the next thing comes along and fans complain it is not like the previous thing they loved ... even if they started out hating it.
When it comes to "Rebels," every single aspect of the show was excruciatingly examined and criticized, mostly for being different from "Clone Wars" in terms of its art style, kid-friendly humor, and lack of familiar characters like Ahsoka and the clones. But one of the more common (and ridiculous) criticisms was purely an aesthetic one — the girth of the lightsabers.

Warning: This article discusses major spoilers for the "Ahsoka" season 1 finale.
Even as far back as when "Ahsoka" was first announced and it became more and more apparent that this new show would act as a sequel to "Star Wars Rebels," I've had one obvious question burning at the forefront of my mind: Why make this into a live-action series, rather than another animated one? After all, fans first fell head-over-heels in love with heroes like Ahsoka, Ezra, Sabine, Hera, and Kanan because of their distinctive and wonderfully expressive character designs, their pitch-perfect voice actors, and the grand adventures they experienced together within a medium that allowed for endless amounts of creativity and imagination. To strip such core traits away from these Rebels, recast (most of) them with a bunch of lookalikes, and drop them in unfamiliar and jarring live-action environments is to misunderstand what made them so appealing in the first place.

With plenty of questions still looming, Ahsoka’s Season 1 finale on Tuesday night delivered some answers as Grand Admiral Thrawn prepared to make his big exit from Peridea.
The Imperial officer’s mystery cargo had finished loading and they were almost ready to depart. While Morgan was confident that Ahsoka & Co. could do little to stop them, Thrawn remained cautious. He’d seen his cohorts make similar assumptions about the Rebellion to their demise, and even fell victim to the “heroics of a single Jedi” — namely Ezra, who dragged him into deep space via purrgil — and vowed to never make that mistake again.

Power never ends.
We've known that to be true for a while. And when one season ends, typically, another is right around the corner.
With Power Book II: Ghost Season 3 and Power Book IV: Force Season 2 bowing in 2023, there is just one missing from the pack. Luckily, we got some excellent news about fan-favorite Power Book III: Raising Kanan and when we'll see it back on our screens.
The anticipation is high for the spinoff, which left off with a bloody battle that has the potential to reset allegiances and change the relationship dynamics forever, especially between Raq and Kanan.
When we spoke to showrunner Sascha Penn at the end of Power Book IV: Raising Kanan Season 2, he talked about Raq and Kanan's relationship, telling us, "I think that their relationship is more fractured than it's ever been at the end.
"And when she's sort of walking out of the house,...
