Before Margot Robbie was Barbie, she was Harley Quinn, Naomi Lapaglia, Tonya Harding, and many more characters. There's no doubt Robbie loves her job as an actor, and while tackling the role of an iconic children's toy wasn't initially on her career bucket list, it's clear she's happy she took a chance with the role.
A month before the highly anticipated July 2023 release of "Barbie," Robbie spoke to Vogue about how playing the role never even crossed her mind. "It wasn't that I ever wanted to play Barbie, or dreamt of being Barbie, or anything like that," she explained. "This is going to sound stupid, but I really didn't even think about playing Barbie until years into developing the project."
And while "Barbie" might arguably be Robbie's most hyped-up movie in her career so far, it's by no means the only role she's slayed. Take a look back at Robbie's best movies below.

The New York Times acquired Serial Productions, the company behind the eponymous breakout true-crime podcast, in July 2020.
It now has its first Serial Productions podcast hosted by one of its own reporters.
The Coldest Case In Laramie, hosted by Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative reporter Kim Barker, explores the story of an unsolved homicide that took place while she was in high school in Laramie, Wyoming, nearly 40 years ago.
The limited series, featuring eight episodes, will see Barker confront the conflicting stories people have told themselves about the crime because of an unexpected development: the arrest of a former Laramie police officer accused in the murder.
The Coldest Case In Laramie launches on February 23.
In 1985, when Barker was a sophomore in high school, a 22 year-old college student named Shelli Wiley was murdered in Laramie. The killing was particularly horrific — Wiley was stabbed repeatedly before being dragged into her apartment, which was then set on fire.

Exclusive: Lifetime has given a green light to How To Murder Your Husband, one of the network’s new Ripped from the Headlines movies announced today, starring Cybill Shepherd (The Client List) and Steve Guttenberg. It’s slated for premiere on Saturday, January 14 at 8 pm/7c.
The project marks Shepherd’s return to Lifetime following her previous starring role in The Client List and a guest-starring role on Drop Dead Diva.
Based on a true story, the movie revolves around Nancy Crampton-Brophy, played by Shepherd, who seemed to have a knack for writing about murder. The Portland-based romance-thriller novelist authored books about relationships that were tumultuous, while using seductive men on the covers to lure in her readers. Often, her books featured women protagonists who fantasized about killing their own husbands or fleeing their husbands and faking their own deaths. And then, in 2022 in a shocking turn of events,...

Former Neighbours star Margot Robbie has heaped praised upon Home and Away's Steve Peacocke, describing him as "extraordinarily talented".
As announced last month, Peacocke, who recently bowed out of his role as Summer Bay's Brax, will star in an untitled Paramount Pictures project alongside Robbie.
The black comedy film will be based on Kim Barker's wartime memoir Taliban Shuffle, which is an account of her experiences as a terrorism and international affairs journalist.
Speaking to TV Week, Robbie said: "He's so amazing. I have been absolutely blown away by Steve. I was raving about him last night.
"Steve started improvising and I was just in stitches. He and Martin Freeman were going back and forth and I literally just fell off the couch. There were tears streaming down my face, it was so funny."
Robbie added: "He is extraordinarily talented. If he doesn't blow up in Hollywood, I would be surprised.

No, Viggo Mortensen isn't starring in some new Marvel movie, despite the name of the developing drama "Captain Fantastic." Instead, the actor will be joining "28 Hotel Rooms" director Matt Ross' film about "an idealistic father who, after a decade of living off the grid in the forests of the Pacific Northwest, must return with his six young kids to assimilate back into society." Man, just wait until he discovers "Breaking Bad" and "True Detective." No spoilers. Production begins this summer. [Deadline] Tina Fey is getting ready to do "The Taliban Shuffle" (attn producers: please change title—it's not cutesy, it's kinda dumb). Anyway, Robert Carlock ("30 Rock," "Saturday Night Live") has penned the adaptation of Kim Barker's memoir about a journalist who is "a fish-out-of-water in Kabul, filing stories about militants, being a woman in wartime Iraq and Pakistan, dealing with boredom interspersed with dashes of violence and the promiscuous war correspondent culture.

Who doesn’t love Tina Fey? Well, besides Sarah Palin’s staunchest supporters. She’s one of television’s sharpest writers and comic actors, and she has a decent track record in film too (Baby Mama, Date Night and Admission were modest hits which benefited from her everywoman sensibility). Now, the 30 Rock creator and one half of everybody’s favorite Golden Globes hosting duo is set to star in The Taliban Shuffle, based on journalist Kim Barker’s memoir.
Barker’s book is a blend of dark comedy and tragedy, recounting the journalist’s experiences shifting between Pakistan and Afghanistan while covering the War on Terror in its early years. Unlike other unsparing accounts of violence and imminent death which became bestsellers over the last 10 years, The Taliban Shuffle actually has a lot of funny and absurd moments. Tina Fey will star in and produce the movie The Taliban Shuffle, based on journalist Kim Barker's memoir, The Taliban Shuffle: Strange Days in Afghanistan and Pakistan, according to the Wrap. Fey's frequent collaborator Robert Carlock wrote the adaptation, which traces Barker's experience as a war correspondent. It might not sound funny ha-ha, but in its 2011 review of the book, the Times wrote that "[Barker] depicts herself as a sort of Tina Fey character, who unexpectedly finds herself addicted to the adrenaline rush of war." Paramount has picked up The Taliban Shuffle, an adaptation of journalist Kim Barker’s wartime memoir as a starring vehicle for Tina Fey. Fey is attached to star in and produce the adaptation with her former Saturday Night Live boss and 30 Rock cohort Lorne Michaels. Robert Carlock, who worked with Fey as a writer on 30 Rock, has penned the script for Shuffle, which tells of Barker’s arrival as a fish-out-of-water in Kabul, filing stories about militants, being a woman in wartime Iraq and Pakistan, dealing with boredom interspersed with dashes of violence and the promiscuous war correspondent

Tina Fey is someone who likes to generate her own projects in between taking roles in other people's films. She’s carving out some time in her busy schedule to focus on something she really wants to work on, producing and starring an adaptation of Kim Barker’s memoir The Taliban Shuffle. It’s not, as the title suggests, the story of one woman who began a new dance craze. Barker’s book, which is subtitled 'Strange Days In Afghanistan And Pakistan', charts her time as a journalist in Kabul in 2002. With no foreign languages among her skillset and precious little idea how to get between Pakistan and Afghanistan, she was thrown in at the deep end. Slowly but surely, she grew to love the region, even as she became increasingly worried about its future.Though Fey often writes her own films, she’s instead handing this one off...

Tina Fey is, according to a story today at TheWrap , set to both star in and produce The Taliban Shuffle for Paramount Pictures. The film, which will feature an adapted screenplay by Robert Carlock (who previously worked with Fey on "30 Rock"), is based on Kim Barker's 2012 memoir of the same name, officially described as follows: When Kim Barker first arrived in Kabul as a journalist in 2002, she barely owned a passport, spoke only English and had little idea how to do the .Taliban Shuffle. between Afghanistan and Pakistan. No matter.her stories about Islamic militants and shaky reconstruction were soon overshadowed by the bigger news in Iraq. But as she delved deeper into Pakistan and Afghanistan, her love for the hapless countries grew, along with her fear for...

Here’s an alternative award giving ceremony that those in Hollywood don’t like! The Golden Raspberry Awards (Razzies) always announce their awards right near the Oscar noms in a bid to steal some thunder and to remind us all that some movies suck! For the likes of Sly Stallone, it’s the gift that keeps on giving. He’s received most nominations in practically every category going! Some like Halle Berry (Worst Actress for Catwoman) and Paul Verhoeven (winner for Showgirls) have turned up at the ceremony and graciously accepted their awards. See? Some Hollywood folk do have a sense of humour!
Leading the pack this year is G.I. Joe, Land of the Lost, Hannah Montana and the controversial inclusion of R. Pattz and Kirstin Stewart. Here’s the full list of nominations:

We're less than 10 hours away from the 2010 Oscar Nominations (as of this posting), and as per usual, the Razzie Awards -- which celebrate the worst in cinema -- are announced the day before. And as usual, the Razzies nominate the most obvious movies -- the spectacularly bad popular movies, actors, and actresses (not that there's anything wrong with that). From a cursory glance at the nominees, it appears as though the same five movies dominate every category and Sandra Bullock may be the most nominated this year (ironic, since she'll also likely be nominated for an Oscar) for her role in All About Steve. Transformers 2, G.I. Joe, Old Dogs, New Moon and Land of the Lost are the other big titles on the list. There's really no excuse for leaving out Paul Blart or Year One, though.

A day before 2010 Oscar nominees are unveiled on February 2, The Golden Raspberry Award Foundation have announced their picks for the worst in film. Though "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" and "G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra" were considerably successful on box office, both movies have to take the fact they are nominated for Worst Picture category at the 30th Annual Razzie Awards. They additionally will compete in Worst Remake, Rip-Off or Sequel category.
Meanwhile, Sandra Bullock, whose acting in "The Blind Side" has earned her Best Drama Actress nod at the 67th Annual Golden Globe Awards, lands Worst Actress nod for her appearance in "All About Steve". In this category, she will be up against Megan Fox ("Jennifer's Body" and "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen"), Miley Cyrus ("Hannah Montana: The Movie"), Beyonce Knowles ("Obsessed") and Sarah Jessica Parker ("Did You Hear About the Morgans?").

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and Land of the Lost each grabbed seven nominations for the 2010 Golden Raspberry Awards (Razzies), an annual event recognizing the worst movies had to offer.
The Michael Bay sequel made $835 million worldwide and placed second at the U.S. box office in 2009 while the Will Ferrell “comedy” tanked in its summer release, earning only half its budget back in the States. Both are in the running for “Worst Picture” along with critically panned All About Steve, the campy G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra, and the John Travolta/Robin Williams groaner Old Dogs.
Sandra Bullock was nominated for “Worst Actress of 2009″ for All About Steve literally the day before the Academy Awards announcements where she’s the front-runner for “Best Actress” in The Blind Side. No actor has ever been awarded both awards in the same year.

Forget about the Oscars for now, let's talk about the Razzies. One day before the prestigious Academy Awards nominations, the Golden Raspberry Awards noms have been announced and it ain't good for both "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" and "Land of the Lost." Both movies earned 7 nominations each.
"Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" received nominations for worst film, worst director for Michael Bay, worst screen couple (expanded to include both Shai LeBouf and Megan Fox or LeBouf and any Transformer), worst supporting actress, worst screenplay and worst remake/rip-off.
"Land of the Lost" also received seven nominations for Will Farrell as worst actor and worst screen couple, worst picture, director for Brad Silberling, remake/rip-off, screenplay and supporting actor for Jorma Taccone as Cha-Ka.
The Razzies also gave love to the worst of the decade which included Razzie-baits such as "Battlefield Earth" (2001), Tom Green's "Freddy Got Fingered" (2001), "Gigli" (2003), Lindsay Lohan...

Oscar's ugly little stepbrother Razzie announced his nominations this week for the worst movies and performances of 2009, and let's just say there's no shortage of stuff to choose from. The Golden Raspberry Awards are, of course, the annual awards that mock and ridicule all of the terrible blockbusters that we are forced to sit through in a year, and among the biggest offenders this year we have Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Land of the Lost, G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, and Twilight Saga: New Moon. Transformers and Land of the Lost lead the pack with seven nominations each. In an interesting twist, it seems that Sandra Bullock is nominated for Worst Actress for her performance in All About Steve, which means she might actually have a shot at winning both Best Actress at the Oscars and Worst Actress at the Razzies in the same year. Now that's an achievement!

Sandra Bullock has had an odd year. An uplifting romantic comedy (The Proposal), an inspirational sports film (The Blind Side) and All About Steve. What is All About Steve? It’s not really romantic (the lead stalks a man who wants nothing to do with her). It’s not really all that funny. It’s not even that uplifting (more depressing than anything). It sits safely on the divider of a highway called mediocrity, afraid to run towards either shoulder. If the film was laughably bad it would have been an improvement. There are attempts at humor, but most of them get drowned out by the sadly desperate needs of the main character. Sometimes you can catch a glimpse of romance, but it’s overshadowed by themes of self-discovery and overt rejection. All About Steve is that comedy everyone wants to be funny and whimsical but which comes across as plain and somewhat depressing.

Chicago – Sandra Bullock may have had a spectacular 2009, headlining hits “The Proposal” and “The Blind Side” and being named Entertainment Weekly’s Entertainer of the Year, but she also reached the low point of her career (yes, lower than “Speed 2”) in the horrendous, awful, laugh-free “All About Steve,” a worthy candidate for the worst film of the year just passed and now available on Blu-ray and DVD.
Blu-Ray Rating: 1.0/5.0
One of the reasons that I respond so vehemently to junk like “All About Steve” is that I can’t stand what I call hypocritical comedy: screenwriting that asks us to point and laugh at the abnormalities of a character only to give her a big hug at the end and teach us a lesson about embracing individuality. You can’t have it both ways. You can’t mock a character for being different (or, in this case, possibly mentally handicapped...
