The Discovery Channel is producing a fascinating new series that will investigate the mysterious circumstances surrounding the death of legendary inventor Nikola Tesla.
The series is called Tesla and one of the coolest parts of the series will involve a team of engineers coming together to build and test-fire Tesla's Death Ray, which is supposedly an incredibly dangerous weapon of mass destruction. This weapon could have swung the balance of power in World War II and may have been a main reason of motive to have Tesla killed.
I've been fascinated with Tesla and his work for years. This talented man screwed over by people thought his life and Thomas Edison was one of the biggest assholes to him. I'm excited about this new series and the information that it will bring to light. THR offers the following info:
In 1943, Tesla, who has been called "The Man Who Invented the 20th Century,...

'Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl': Johnny Depp as Capt. Jack Sparrow. 'Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl' review: Mostly an enjoyable romp (Oscar Movie Series) Pirate movies were a Hollywood staple for about three decades, from the mid-'20s (The Sea Hawk, The Black Pirate) to the mid-to-late '50s (Moonfleet, The Buccaneer), when the genre, by then mostly relegated to B films, began to die down. Sporadic resurrections in the '80s and '90s turned out to be critical and commercial bombs (Pirates, Cutthroat Island), something that didn't bode well for the Walt Disney Company's $140 million-budgeted film "adaptation" of one of their theme-park rides. But Neptune's mood has apparently improved with the arrival of the new century. He smiled – grinned would be a more appropriate word – on the Gore Verbinski-directed Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl,...

Today we are talking to one of Broadway's best baritones all about his accomplished career in musical theatre that began nearly 20 years ago with a memorable turn in Miss Saigon, the thoughtful and debonair Matt Bogart. In addition to looking back at his arrival on Broadway during the mega-musical era, Bogart also comments on subsequent starring roles in Broadway productions ranging from Elton John and Tim Rice's Tony Award-winning Aida to Frank Wildhorn and Jack Murphy's The Civil War and far beyond. Additionally, Bogart sheds considerable light on projects he has participated in over the years in regional productions and workshops, including The Baker's Wife, Camelot, Ace and more. Most importantly, Bogart offers the full 411 on this weekend's hotly anticipated evening of music from famous rock concept musical Chess and clues us in on what we can expect from the starry evening, directed by Scott Coulter. Furthermore, Bogart...

I think everyone remembers where they were August 31st, 2003 when they heard that Charles Bronson had died. I was visiting my brother in Atlanta when my nephew knocked on my door and informed me that CNN had announced his death. I collapsed into a sobbing heap. Bronson was my hero, my muse, my role model. Hollywood’s brightest star would shine no more. It’s hard to believe he’s been gone ten years.
Charles Bronson was the unlikeliest of movie stars. Of all the leading men in the history of Hollywood, Charles Bronson had the least range as an actor. He rarely emoted or even changed his expression, and when he did speak, his voice was a reedy whisper. But Charles Bronson could coast on presence, charisma, and silent brooding menace like no one’s business and he wound up the world’s most bankable movie star throughout most of the 1970’s.

Matthew Costello's newest novel Vacation is set in a post-apocalyptic future in which the food supply has been decimated by an ecological disaster, leaving survivors holed up in heavily fortified communities and living on synthetic foods while battling hordes of "Can Heads", cannibals whose lust for human meat makes them extraordinarily fast and strong. The protagonist, Jack Murphy is a cop who has been injured on the job and is now packed off with his wife and two children for vacation to the Paterville Family Camp, an isolated – supposedly safe – resort in the Adirondacks. The multi-talented Costello has written games (like Doom 3), television shows (for Syfy and The Disney Channel), and two dozen...

"Alice in Wonderland" is set for a new adaption - on the Broadway stage. The classic Lewis Carroll story was adapted by Tim Burton earlier this year for a Disney 3D adventure, starring Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter.
The film took more than $1 billion at the global box office and theater bosses in New York are hoping to cash in on the tale's renewed popularity. "Wonderland: A New Alice" will see a modern-day Alice estranged from her husband and alienated from her daughter while trying to keep her job before finding herself back in Wonderland.
The show is set to open on April 17, with previews beginning on March 21, according to the Associated Press. It will be directed by Gregory Boyd with music by Wildhorn and lyrics by Jack Murphy.

Hollywoodnews.com: Earlier this year, Tim Burton proved that audiences still crave new versions of the classic “Alice in Wonderland” story. Boosted by increased 3-D ticket prices, Burton’s “Alice” raked in $334 million, making it 2010’s second-highest-grossing movie to date.
But will audience members want to follow Alice down the rabbit hole to Broadway? Producers are about to find out, as “Wonderland: Alice’s New Musical Adventure” is poised to open in New York City next year. The New York Times reports that producer Frank Wildhorn (“Jekyll & Hyde”) supports the production, which traces its roots to Lewis Carroll’s text.
“Wonderland” follows a grown-up Alice on a wildly new journey. It will be directed by Gregory Boyd, from a book by Boyd and Jack Murphy.

Bronson did not rise quickly in the Hollywood ranks. His film debut was in 1951 and he spent the next two decades as a solid character actor with a rugged face, muscular physique and everyman ethnicity that kept him busy in supporting roles as indians, convicts, cowboys, boxers, and gangsters. It wasn’t until he was in his late 40’s, after the international success of Once Upon A Time In The West...

Brandon Stumpf may not be a household name to horror fans, but versatility has been the key to Stumpf's success in mainstream and independent films, and once filmmakers see him in his upcoming role as Steve Ryan in Kevin MacDonald's Beg, it's likely we'll start seeing him in other genre projects. This writer recently had the pleasure of interviewing the actor, who is also a full-time art teacher.
Fred Grandinetti: Where were you were born and raised?
Brandon Stumpf: I was born and raised in Nashua, New Hampshire, with my father, mother, sister, and brother.
Fg: Did you perform in any theatrical productions while attending school?
Bs: The only theatre I participated in was my high school's Senior Class play. We did South Pacific, and I was an ensemble player. I had two singing lines, which shocks me to this day because I hardly consider myself a singer.
