Exclusive: Veteran film and television producers Sean and Bryan Furst have signed a multi-project development deal with Miramax TV via their Global Position Studios.
The agreement adds several premium projects in Europe, Latin America and Africa to the development slate for Miramax TV, whose current international series include the upcoming Guy Ritchie-helmed The Gentlemen, commissioned out of Netflix UK. Miramax also recently acquired TV rights for the blockbuster franchise Halloween.

Exclusive: Tony Award-winning actress Joanna Gleason will make her feature film writing and directing debut with The Grotto, set to begin production later this month.
The project was announced by Gleason’s 18 High Street Films, Ouroboros Entertainment and T42 Entertainment, the three partners on the production. Casting will be announced in early this month.

Exclusive: Paramount Pictures has won an auction for an epic that will have Gal Gadot wearing the crown of a real wonder woman of history. Wonder Woman helmer Patty Jenkins will direct Gadot in Cleopatra, a period biographical drama scripted by Laeta Kalogridis. This is the first major project package won by Paramount Motion Picture Group President Emma Watts in an auction that came down to Universal, Warner Bros, Netflix and Apple, I’ve heard.
The film will be produced by Atlas Entertainment’s Charles Roven, Jenkins, Gadot and her Pilot Wave Motion Pictures partner Jaron Varsano. Kalogridis will be the exec producer. Deal closed yesterday after Gadot — the film was her idea and generated by Pilot Wave — took part in a select number of Zoom pitches, accompanied by Jenkins, Roven and Varsano, with Kalogridis laying out the beats of an epic story that is based on the research she did after Gadot enlisted her.

In a competitive situation, ABC has given a put pilot commitment to Bless Her Heart, a multi-camera comedy from former Modern Family executive producer Chuck Tatham, Parsons and Todd Spiewak’s That’s Wonderful Productions and Warner Bros. TV where the company is based.
Written by Tatham, Bless Her Heart is a multigenerational family comedy centered on two very different Texas matriarchs who wreak havoc on their children’s lives when they all wind up living together.

Elias Koteas, Martin Donovan and Kyle Gallner have boarded the horror film The Haunting in Connecticut for Gold Circle Films and Lionsgate.
Virginia Madsen already is set to star in the thriller, which in the vein of The Exorcist is based on one family's experience with supernatural forces after settling into a new home.
Gallner will play Madsen's cancer-ridden son Matt, who becomes aware of the paranormal activity present around him. Koteas will play a priest and fellow cancer patient that Sara Campbell (Madsen) turns to for help. Donovan will play Madsen's husband.
The film, directed by Peter Cornwell and written by Adam Simon and Tim Metcalfe, began shooting this week in Winnipeg.
Koteas recently completed work on David Fincher's The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, which stars Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett also appears in David Auburn's The Girl in the Park. Koteas is repped by UTA, Kipperman Management and attorney Shep Rosenman at Katz, Golden, Sullivan & Rosenman.
Donovan, whose credits include Showtime's Weeds, will appear in the upcoming suspense thriller Wind Chill with Emily Blunt and Ashton Holmes.
