- Did wildlife rehabilitation at the Wildlife Waystation, near Los Angeles CA. Cared for injured and baby possums, squirrels, rabbits, and birds. Even tiny hummingbirds.
- Hand captured and relocated unwanted wild prairie dogs to a preserve in Colorado, through a local non-profit group.
- Drove south after Katrina and brought back animals to NYC for adoption through Animal Haven.
- Has worked as an animal trainer and handler with both exotic and domestic animals. Has 2 adorable rescue dogs, that a friend discovered living in a parking lot of a strip club in Van Nuys! Abbey is Therapy Dog International certified and visits older people at the local assisted living residences.
- 2013, completed a 4th season as a wildlife field technician, helping to protect endangered piping plovers, oyster catchers, black skimmers and least terns, on NJ's busy beaches. Finding that acting skills can come in very handy, trying to persuade the tough audience in NJ that they can co-exist with these unique beach nesting birds.
