Originally from Chicago Illinois, attended Pepperdine University, in
Malibu, California where he majored in Business Administration with an
emphasis in Corporate Finance. Soon after receiving his degree he began
his professional career as the Marketing Analyst for Team One
Advertising (a subsidiary of the global advertising giant Saatchi &
Saatchi) in El Segundo, California, working on Lexus' national
advertising account. During his time at Team One his duties included
media production cost analysis and the forecasting and analysis of both
the Lexus advertising production and media budgets. He also provided
over-all direction on financial report formats and new procedures.
While at Team One Advertising, he returned to graduate school where he
received his M.B.A in Marketing from California Lutheran University in
Thousand Oaks, California.
Universal, now NBC-Universal was his next professional employer. At Universal he served as a Financial Analyst for Universal Studios Creative, in Universal City, California working on their newest theme park "Universal Studios Japan" which was constructed in Osaka, Japan. As an analyst for Universal Creative his duties included, developing detailed annual operating budgets and annual plans, conducting and providing variance analysis to assist in forecasting and strategic decision making, as well as working with the USJ Marketing team to develop strategic models for business planning.
After leaving Universal, Allen served as Business Analyst for Countrywide Financial Corp's Post Purchase division. While at Countrywide, Allen supported the production, operations and finance divisions and oversaw the development and maintenance of monthly, quarterly and annual reporting to provide the 1st V.P. of Post Purchase Operations with info necessary to make better business decisions. These upgrades included researching pros and cons of the current business environment and discussing these findings with senior management, to implement the suggested improvements.
Most recently Bates served as National Sales Analyst overseeing business strategy for IAC Partner Marketing, a division of InterActiveCorp (IAC) which is the parent company of Ticketmaster, Citysearch, Evite, Ask Jeeves, Expedia and Hotels.com to name a few. In his role as National Sales Analyst at IAC Partner Marketing, he assisted with the development of strategic partnerships between the larger clients and the operating businesses which are central to the IAC Partner Marketing's development and continued success. He also works on assessing the diverse and competitive landscapes and developing strategic plans while evaluating new business development opportunities.
His experience in the area of business development, corporate finance, marketing and overall business management stems not only from his educational background and years of corporate experience but also from serving as an independent consultant for several businesses that's why now as President of Hierarchy Pictures Bates looks to bring his many years of expertise to leave a footprint on the entertainment industry. He overseas Hierarchy and its subsidiary companies.
