"We have to consider that they're all lying to us." Gravitas Ventures has debuted an official trailer for an indie thriller titled Disappearance, the feature debut of filmmaker Matt Shapira. This is another one of these seductive sailboat mysteries where something goes wrong and someone dies (or disappears) from a boat and they have to figure out what really happened. Who really killed him? After the author George Boulangé disappears from his sailboat one night, Detective Kenny Park must try to figure out what happened by interviewing his wife, girlfriend, and the captain. Starring Matt Marsden, Hutch Dano, Cortney Palm, Jemma Dallender, Reggie Lee, Brian Thompson, & Guy Wilson. This looks bland and forgettable, and very cheesy (that awful music in the trailer my goodness). This one you can skip. Here's the first official trailer (+ poster) for Matt Shapira's Disappearance, direct from YouTube: When author George Boulangé agrees to the wishes of his wife,...

On a hot and humid day in August L.J. Rivera's Galactic Film Festival held a Filmmaker's roundtable at the classic Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood, where new and aspiring filmmakers were treated to the wisdom and inspirational words of Jon Kondelik and James Kondelik, two identical twin filmmakers who have been making waves with a pair of highly anticipated upcoming indie films, in a panel that wound up being moderated by scream queen Jessica Cameron and myself.
The two anticipated films in question are The Divine Tragedies and Behind the Walls. I got to see the first fifteen minutes of The Divine Tragedies, which was produced by the Kondelik brothers and written and directed by Jose Prendes, last December at the legendary but now sadly closed Jumpcut Cafe, and was immediately taken in by the film's idiosyncratic style, which seemed to me to be David Lynch...

It's been a few months since we've gotten an update on Jose Pendres' The Divine Tragedies, but our patience has paid off because today we have some new artwork and a few stills to share!
From the Press Release:
Film production company Dual Visions has completed the official artwork for the serial killer fever dream The Divine Tragedies, which shows a partially disguised character from the film.
This horrifying crime thriller is loosely based on the Leopold and Loeb murder case, in which two brothers murdered a young 14-year-old boy. This case shocked citizens of Chicago in 1924. Now, writer/director Jose Prendes (The Haunting of Whaley House) is re-envisioning the case for a new audience.
The official artwork shows a wounded young woman and rose petals. The blood reds highlight the darker elements of the film, and the tagline promises murder: “Your death will be... beautiful.” But who will be the first victim?...
