Edgar Wright was, by his own account, "21 years old, living in North London, broke and on the dole – that's British for 'welfare'" in 1995 when he was struck by what he can only compare to a near-religious vision. The filmmaker was in the process of editing his first movie, a low-budget Spaghetti western homage, but the future director of Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz had nothing lined up and no sense of what he really wanted to do with his life. And then he put on "Bellbottoms," the first...

The 40 Sexiest Punk Rockers of All Time Smashing the state never looked so good. by Nerve Punk rock, for all its other saving graces, isn't exactly the sexiest of musical genres. It's loud, unsubtle, and occasionally violent, and it isn't overtly concerned with sexuality. That said, you'd be hard-pressed to find someone who didn't at one point carry a torch for their neighborhood punk rocker, and it's in that spirit that we're counting down the sexiest punk rockers of all time. 40. Far from, even, a list of my favourite singers and front men. Nor is it an accurate representation of my musical taste. I have loved and worshipped at the altar of other singers, front men, bands and artists more at any given moment, as my fleeting attention span allows, be it for their technical prowess, their performance or their myth; I’m a sucker for a tortured artist.
No, what we have here is a list to make you think and reminisce; harking back to those long forgotten days of yore, of childhood. So without further ado, and our taking-ourselves-seriously-hats left reassuringly at the door, here then, is my list of Top Ten Singers I Pretended To...
