- In High School, along with Philip Aldredge, starting with a quarter of a tank of gas in his automobile, five dollars, a VHS Camcorder, and a blank tape, he spent a full year making a two and a half hour movie called Far From Over.
- Since the age of 3, he always wanted to work in the creature shop of ILM. Part of his later decision of going into Visual Effects rather than Practical was that almost everything coming out in the late 90s was more and more computer oriented and less mechanical. In 2006, some 27 years later. He started at ILM as a Roto/Paint Artist on Pirates of the Caribbean 3: At World's End.
- In October of 2004 whilst listening to What You Waiting For by Gwen Stefani in his automobile, he was inspired to move to San Francisco and go back to school for Visual Effects. In January of 2005, he moved and lasted only one semester before he just started knocking on the doors of the Bay Area Firms. By December of 2005, he had his first studio gig on The Host and Superman Returns.

- During a promotion with UJam in the Fall of 2011, he submitted vocals to the "Rise" Chant to be included and mixed with the other chant vocals of The Dark Knight Rises (2012).
- His favorite movie that he worked on is Iron Man, but the project he learned the most from is Transformers: Dark of the Moon.
- Growing up he was inspired by the works of Ray Harryhausen, Rick Baker, Stan Winston, Alec Gillis, Tom Woodruff Jr., and Steve Johnson. Among the more inspirational viewings were The Making of Thriller, The Making of Alien3, and Scare Tactics with Steve and Linnea on the short lived Horror Hall of Fame. As an adult, he was able to meet Harryhausen twice before his passing and work along side Alec Gillis and Tom Woodruff Jr.
