Star Trek and Jack Ryan star Chris Pine was recently arrested for drunk driving in New Zealand, where he was shooting upcoming science fiction film Z for Zachariah. According to local sources, the 33-year-old actor was caught driving drunk in the early hours of March 1, after celebrating with other cast members at a wrap party in the New Zealand town of Methven. Keira Knightley has spoken of her admiration for Sherlock's Benedict Cumberbatch.
The Jack Ryan star will appear opposite Cumberbatch in The Imitation Game, a film about the life of World War II codebreaker Alan Turing.
"Benedict is lovely, he's a very old friend of mine so it's always lovely to work with him," Knightley told Digital Spy.
Despite the action-packed nature of Jack Ryan, Knightley admitted that it was the British-produced drama that left her with an on-set injury.
"The only injury I've ever got was [doing The Imitation Game] which is the least action-packed film in the entire world and I managed to tear a muscle running through a door.
"I've done all of these action films and I've never got hurt at all and I manage to do it on a drama."
The Imitation Game will be released in cinemas later this year.

Oscars When the little-heard song "Alone Yet Not Alone" from the barely-seen movie of the same name was nominated for an Oscar a couple weeks ago, just about everyone was left scratching their heads. The nomination immediately became tinged with scandal when it was revealed that the song's composer, Bruce Broughton, happened to be a former governor of the music branch of the Academy and a current member of the prestigious organization's executive committee. Broughton admitted to EW that he "wrote some people" and asked them to consider the song because he was afraid it would get overlooked, but said that he didn't do anything wrong by doing so.
Apparently, the Academy did not share Broughton's take on the events that led to the nomination because they have removed the song from consideration. In a statement, Cheryl Boone Isaacs, president of the Academy, said, "No matter how well-intentioned the communication,...

Like a fine wine, it's safe to say Chris Pine only gets better with age. A point which the hunky actor proved during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show airing Thursday, Jan. 16, when Ellen DeGeneres opted to suddenly share the Star Trek stud's dorky high school yearbook photo. And it's even better than you could imagine. Ellen begins by informing the audience that Pine's father, Robert, played Sgt. Joseph Getraer on the hit NBC series CHiPs, which ran from 1977 to 1983. She then pulls up a photo of the Jack Ryan star's dad to show the similarities between the father-son duo before suddenly flashing Pine's yearbook photo—much to the 33-year-old hunk's...

In the flurry of election night tweets, ShockTillYouDrop.com spied one on Twitter that took us by surprise. An actress involved in Cabin Fever: Patient Zero tweeted a grisly FX pic teasing her death scene in the film! Because this is rather spoiler-y, you'll have to head inside to find out who it is and to see the image.
Kaare Andrews of Altitude and The ABCs of Death is directing the third film. Lydia Hearst, Sean Astin, Jillian Murray, Brano Eaton, Ryan Donowho and Mitch Ryan star. When friends start to show symptoms of a mysterious flesh eating disease in the Caribbean, the countdown is on to solve the mystery and find help. A mysterious and surprisingly unaffected stranger may hold the clue to escape... or may be the cause of their ultimate demise.

In about a month, the broadcast networks will be making their final decisions about which pilots to pick up for the 2012-13 season. A lot can happen between now and then, but we're comfortable making this prediction: You'll be seeing at least a couple new family sitcoms in the fall.
Various permutations of the family comedy, featuring everything from multi-generational clans clashing with the neighbors ("The Manzanis" on ABC) to a gay couple and the woman carrying their baby ("The New Normal" on NBC), are in development. We counted almost 20 "my [insert synonym for 'lovingly dysfunctional' here] family" shows on the networks' dockets, including at least seven at ABC alone.
That the Alphabet would make such a heavy investment in family comedies is no surprise. Its successful Wednesday block is mostly family-centered, and it's probably looking for something to pair with the likely-to-be-renewed "Last Man Standing" as well.

Sometime, back in April, I was whisked off onto a fabulous, whirlwind ocean journey on the VH1 Best Cruise Ever. You may even recall the 20 Things I Learned while aboard that ship. (Though, to be fair, I have continued drinking Absolut Peach despite my swearing drunkenly on board that it was “dead to me.”) Where was I? Ah yes, drinking cruising. I remember that cruise fondly. The bands. The people. Riding on the back of a shark. (A dream I had while on the cruise.) It was truly the best time. Which is why I feel honored and privileged to announce the following: Best Cruise Ever Is Back in 2011! VH1 Best Cruise Ever will set sail from April 28 to May 2, 2011, traveling from Tampa, Florida to Cozumel, Mexico. And the cruise will feature some of your favorite bands… check out this lineup: Train, Lifehouse, Colbie Caillat, The Script. Mat Kearney. Ryan Star,...

Indie band tops Eminem and last week's #1, Avenged Sevenfold.

It's been an oddly major year for indie artists. Back in January, Vampire Weekend made history when their Contra album debuted at #1 on the Billboard albums chart. And now, it's the Arcade Fire's turn to take the top spot ... and they did it in an even bigger fashion than anyone could've imagined.
Their The Suburbs album sold more than 156,000 copies — some 30,000 more than Vw managed to move in their first week — to bow at #1 on next week's Top 200. They're the highest opening numbers for any indie album since Pearl Jam's Backspacer (which was released on their own Monkey Wrench label but sold exclusively through mega-retailer Target, indie stores and online) sold 189,000 copies in September 2009, and bested debuts by the likes of the Shins, whose Wincing...

HBO has just released its annual yearender that teases also what's coming in 2010. "2009 was a big year for HBO, but 2010 will be just as big," the cable said in the promo. Among the returning shows that get the first look is "True Blood" and among the new shows is miniseries "The Pacific".
Unfortunately, the promo that utilizes the song "This Could Be the Year" by Ryan Star, only displays a few second of Bill-Sookie moment as well as a brief glimpse of Sam and Jessica with her fangs out. It is doubtful that any of the scene is new since production has just been kicked off this month and it's unlikely that the footage come out of it. The contrary happens to "Pacific" that gets a new footage of wedding and war scenes.
