ABC and Dick Clark Productions are shaking things up on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest. The upcoming 52nd edition of the venerable holiday telecast will have new co-hosts joining Seacrest — Rita Ora will be live in Times Square while Jeannie Mai will emcee the Hollywood party in the Pacific Time zone. They succeed Liza Koshy and Ciara who held on co-hosting duties for the past couple of years.
Ringing in the new year at midnight in the Atlantic Time zone (11pm Et), New Year’s Rockin’ Eve will once again feature a Spanish language countdown with Dayanara Torres returning as co-host from Puerto Rico’s Convention Center.
Eliminated from the lineup is the Central Time zone countdown from New Orleans, which had been part of the show since 2017.
The changes come in Rockin’ Eve’s first year under new ownership at Dcp, which was acquired in January by Penske Media Eldridge, a subsidiary of Deadline parent Pmc. The annual program was recently renewed through Jan. 1, 2029.
The No. 1 New Year’s Eve special for over 30 years, Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2023 drew 13.8 million total viewers and averaged 4.1/29 among adults 18-49 last year. It peaked at 17.9 million viewers and a 5.3 18-49 rating in the midnight quarter-hour.
Airing Dec. 31, live on ABC at 8:00 Pm Est, Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2024 will feature more than 5 1⁄2 hours of music performances, guests and a look at New Year’s celebrations around the globe. Details around performers will be announced closer to show night.

Paula Shugart is departing the Miss Universe Organization after 23 years as president, she revealed on Thursday night in El Salvador — where this year’s event is set to take place on Saturday. Shugart’s exit comes following news that Thailand-based Miss Universe owner Jkn Global Group had filed for bankruptcy in its country, but insiders said Shugart’s announcement was unrelated to that news and had been in the works for a long time prior to that news.
Shugart shared the news of her departure while on stage at Thursday night’s National Costume Show portion of the Miss Universe pageant.
“In my 25 years at Miss Universe, we expanded global reach for this iconic entertainment brand by focusing on telling the stories of these incredible women,” Shugart said in an exclusive statement to Variety.” But more important than numbers and metrics, I’ve learned what it means to truly be a transformational leader.

Jeezy’s filing comes more than two years after he and former co-host of ‘The Real’ tied the knot.
Jeezy and Jeannie Mai‘s pending divorce stems from “different views.”
A source tells Et that the 45-year-old rapper, whose real name is Jay Wayne Jenkins, and the former co-host of The Real weren’t on the same page when it came to “certain family values and expectations.”
“They had different views, and each felt like their needs weren’t being completely met,” the source explains.
Mai, 44, and Jeezy were first linked in January 2019, and a source confirmed their relationship to Et in April 2019. They made things Instagram official in September 2019. The couple went on to tie the knot during an intimate ceremony in Atlanta, Georgia, on March 27, 2021, before they welcomed their daughter, Monaco, in January 2022.
Jeezy is also a dad to three older children — Jadarius, Shyheim and Amra — from previous relationships.
