Lee Ann is a "bad violinist," and played in orchestras in Jackson, TN, Tupelo, MS, Jonesboro, AR, Cambridge, MA, and North Andover, MA.
Lee Ann went to summer school after 9th grade to take 10th grade English in order to graduate a year early and move on to college.
Lee Ann liked college so much she spent many years there, majoring in education, then psychology, then music (violin performance). She attended on a state board scholarship. When that ran out, she took a position at a public radio station licensed to Duquesne University, where tuition was a benefit of employment, in order to finish - with a degree in history and minor in music.
Both of Lee Ann's parents were bitten by poisonous snakes. Her father was from New Orleans, and was bitten by a Water Moccasin while playing in the swamp. Lee Ann's mother was bitten by a Cooperhead while out for a walk on the sidewalk a few homes up the street from their house in Memphis. Both parents survived their snakebites.
