Ridley Scott (Gladiator, Prometheus) just unveiled the trailer for his upcoming biblical film "Exodus: Gods and Kings," focusing on Moses (Christian Bale). And now comes word that he's working on another biblical movie. Variety is reporting that Scott's production company has teamed with 20th Century Fox and Chernin Entertainment (Exodus) for a big screen adaptation of the King David story. The script is being written by Jonathan Stokes (Gringo) and will follow David in his time as King of Israel after the slaying of Goliath. It's not clear if Scott will end up directing or if he'll bring someone else on to take the helm.

Barry Diller is taking BarryDriller to court. In a 12-page complaint filed against Alki David and BarryDriller.com Tuesday in Los Angeles federal court (read it here) the media mogul alleges David is using his name to profit with BarryDriller.com. ”Defendants are using Plaintiff’s name in their ‘BarryDriller.com’ business to (1) associate their service with Plaintiff, and (2) mislead the public into believing that Defendants’ service has been judicially sanctioned”, the complaint reads. Diller also alleges that David’s BarryDriller.com is designed to divert customers from Diller’s Aereo service that streams local broadcast signals to subscribers in New York. Both companies say that they are simply feeding consumers programming that they can already receive for free. (Broadcasters also are suing Aereo for copyright infringement.) This isn’t David’s only court battle. Fox was the first to sue David over BarryDriller.com, then CBS, NBC and ABC...

So how much of a similarity will there be between the upcoming Larry David-starring HBO telemovie, and his long-running comedy series on the same premium cable network? Quite a lot it seems despite HBO executives making it clear that it is "not a 'Curb' movie".
"Superbad" helmer Greg Mottola directs the project which co-stars Jon Hamm, but until now there has been no real story details about the project. Today though, The Los Angeles Times has nabbed a short plot synopsis. Like "Curb your Enthusiasm," parts of the film will be improvised.
The plot concerns a marketing executive named Lenny (David) who is helping to market a new electric car. Because he objects to the name (it's "the Howard,” after “The Fountainhead’s" Howard Roark), Lenny gets into a fight with the creator, a colleague named Haney, and in a fit of Davidian pique gives Haney back his stake in the project.

Undercovers…there’s a double entendre in that title which NBC’s new spy series is desperately missing, and hence where the problems begin.
To get the basic rundown of the show check out Tambay and/or Sergio’s post here and here. For now, what I’m passing along is my honest review of last night’s premiere episode and what direction I think the creators and network should take to keep the viewing public interested.
Finally, we have NBC stepping up to the plate after a long hiatus from their forward thinking days of The Cosby Show and A Different World; they now present us with a Jj. Abrams creation and a premise far different than the goofy and oftentimes trite affair of the black led sitcom entertainment they’ve brought in the past. I felt really excited to see what the results would be and after viewing the pilot,...
