Psychological thriller Nerve continues its hectic production schedule with the project set to go into post next week. The feature length film, the first from director Sebastian Guy and producer Neal Kingston, stars Christian Clark (Mr & Mrs Murder) and Georgina Haig (Fringe), and was shot in Sydney over just 14 days at the end of last year. .Even though we had an intense shooting schedule, the vibe on set has been one of the most relaxed and easy-going I have ever experienced. I’ve had my doubts about Will and Robbie’s relationship since the very beginning. They always seemed ill-suited for one another and I never felt they had much spark. And well, there are the incidents of domestic violence between the couple that put me against any future between them.
But this past week, with Will and Robbie getting married, I decided to put my doubts and previous impressions aside, at least for this episode and try and enjoy the story as presented in this particular episode. I found that it was a well-crafted piece of drama, well done in both writing and acting, though I do have a few issues.
I thought it was ridiculous that rather than tell Will about Edwards’ attempts to bribe him, Robbie gets stinking drunk. Clearly this only made the situation worse. Will had no idea what...

Comedian and film-maker Ed Kavalee is seeking a theatrical distributor for his second feature film Border Protection Squad, which takes aim at shows like Seven’s Border Security and the characters behind it.
Kavalee wrote and directed Border Protection Squad with producing duties shared between himself and Christian Clarke, who produced Scumbus, Nick Thompson and Rachel Millar.
Kavalee told Mumbrella’s sister title Encore: “The idea is what would happen if the guys who ran Border Security were more interested in the ratings than what actually came in and out of Australia.”
Last week Encore revealed that Kavalee’s first film Scumbus would be broadcast on Network Ten.
Kavalee said he hoped to talk to distributors about the opportunities of using Twitter to promote Border Protection Squad via his cast’s own followers. He said: “My question is going to be, ‘what’s the best way to get the most...

Neighbours
As I said last week, I’m really enjoying Neighbours these days. The fallout from the accident has continued to make for interesting soap. Now, I don’t know anything about epilepsy or its symptoms, so I can’t say if the show is being medically accurate about Andrew’s illness, but it’s dramatically compelling to watch.
I see a lot of comments about Andrew being ‘stupid’ for not taking Aidan’s advice and telling people about his situation, but his behavior makes perfect sense to me. Andrew has always been one to avoid problems. His father is repeatedly telling him he needs to be tough and he can’t even talk to Chris and his friends because they won’t have anything to do with him following the accident. Risking his health might be stupid, but it’s realistic.
What isn’t so realistic,...

If you were to lose an infant by sleeping with them in your bed, would you make that mistake again? A Texas mother faces up to 20 years in prison after a second son died of suffocation! Vanessa Clark of Lufkin, Texas, has been found guilty of child endangerment, and was charged with the death of her two-month-old son Tristan Clark after prosecutors learned her first son, one-month-old Christian Clark, died in a similar way in 2009. She should have learned the first time around that sleeping with infants is dangerous! The 33-year-old mother believed the first death was caused by Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, while the babies sleep with her and husband, Mark Clark. As many as 7,000 babies a year die from Sids in the Us, the single largest killer of newborns. Infants can easily be suffocated by their parents or by bedding and and pillows. Vanessa has been warned by...

I’m glad Amira has finally gotten the message, given up on Syed and left town. Given that Syed cheated on her for over a year with Christian, ended their marriage to be with Christian and wanted nothing more than to be with Christian after Christian dumped him late last year, it’s pretty clear that he’s just not that into her. I just hope she doesn’t give him a hard time about finally getting a divorce and lets him see his daughter regularly without a hassle. Her character has worn out her welcome, and it’s time to move on. I will miss scenes of Christian and Amira being bitchy to each other though. That was always fun to watch.
As for Zainab finally confessing that she purposefully sent Yusef to his death, which led to Tamwar being seriously burned, it was a moment long in coming.

I know a lot of people were upset that Ben slept with Lola given that Ben knows he’s gay. We have had too many tv gay teens who lose their virginity to girls, but I can sort of relate to the situation Ben was in, and I get why he would do it.
He might think he’s gay or believe he’s gay, but sleeping with a girl would remove any doubts, which is exactly how it played out. However, I’m not sure why Lola would sleep with Ben. It’s not like she particularly liked him or was even attracted to him. She just seemed all too casual about sleeping with Ben to me. But perhaps that’s an attitude that many teens have about intimacy in general, not worried about the very real ramifications of casual sex. And I suspect...

There is no denying that Crush is a great looking film. It's full of rich colors, expressive cinematography, gorgeous set pieces, and an equally gorgeous young cast. Visually and technically, the film could not be any better. It even completes itself with an impressive, if not at times distracting, soundtrack. Moreover, the acting from the cast is pretty solid and Christopher Egan...

A one night stand turns deadly for a college student when he sleeps with the niece of the person he is house sitting for.
What might seem like a standard film premise is given a nice horror twist. The first half is a little bit slow at times. The principal setting of Crush could have been used more effectively to create an eerie atmosphere. However, once the plot develops, Crush comes alive with energy and momentum. Crush becomes this rollercoaster ride of suspense. Emma Lung and Christopher Egan generate some fireworks with dynamic confrontational scenes. There is effective stalking scenes between protagonist and antagonist. A memorable dream sequence really hits the spot in creating tension and unease. And the finale is refreshingly unexpected.
