Alana Porter
- Additional Crew
- Actress
Born and raised in Arizona, Alana was the oldest of four children. She
showed interest in being an entertainer at an early age. At age four
Alana had directed impromptu plays with tablecloths as curtains, her
siblings as the principal actors, and cabbage patch kids as extras.
Anytime there was someone to entertain, Alana was in her room,
preparing the show. She began to get into modeling in a Dillard's
runway show, but that didn't last long before rebellion set in. Her
carefree childhood was disrupted at age twelve when her parents
divorced. The custody battle lasted for over six years, putting a
strain on all the children. Alana traded in modeling, all desire to
conform and picked up a skateboard and a love for punk rock music.
Alana worked towards keeping her siblings together and temporarily
abandoned dreams of working as an entertainer. She began working at a
movie theatre. For the release of 101 Dalmations, Alana dyed her hair
half black and half blonde. She made a Cruella Deville costume and
showed up to work. It was a hit at the theatre. The job was fun, but
didn't provide for her future. Needing to trade in the skateboard for a
car, Alana became a bank teller so she could work towards a better
life. Six years later, Alana bought a house and began a screen-printing
business with her partner. Her partner encouraged her to begin working
in modeling and acting again. Arizona Rising Star in fashion, Jennyvi,
began featuring Alana in her catalogs and runway shows. Alana began
developing quite an impressive modeling resume when she was contacted
to model for the cover of Nightlife Magazine's Phoenix Fashion Week
edition. Shortly after that, she began working in film. It was after a
chance meeting with one of her partner's friends, Christian Clark. He
was working as an Assistant Director on the set of
The Kingdom (2007), and he needed
more PA's. Not really knowing what she was in for, she immediately
offered to do the job. Alana fell in love with working on set. She
would wake up completely sore after working thirteen hours the day
before, but as soon as soon as she got on set, she was full of energy
and ready to attack the day with the same energy as her first day. That
next day she found out that a thirteen hour day was a short shift for a
PA compared to what was in store. Call it movie magic, but Alana fell
in love with all the hard work. That's when she knew she wanted to keep
pursuing a career in film and television. Alana finds all aspects of
the film production fascinating. She has met some very fascinating and
talented people along the way. She has learned from each of them,
getting lots of advice and encouragement from the local film production
and acting community. Alana has fallen in love with theatre thanks to
Donna DeCarl. Keep an eye out for Alana everywhere, because she can be
anywhere!Alana has been know to say she is honored to have been able to
make so many new friends, and memories working as an actress (as well
as crew) on such amazing productions!
