Patrick J. Adams will return to USA’s “Suits” for its ninth and final season, USA Network told TheWrap.
He is set to reprise his role as Mike Ross, the on-screen husband of Rachel Zane, who was played by the now-Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle. Per the cable channel, Adams will come back mid-season to get involved in a case that puts him toe to toe with Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht) and Samantha Wheeler (Katherine Heigl).
Ross — and thus, Adams — left the series at the end of Season 7 to move to Seattle with Rachel. When TheWrap asked USA if Markle will return, the net referred us to series creator Aaron Korsch’s pretty consistent remarks about that popular question. Basically, she’s always welcome back — but don’t hold your breath.

Spoiler Alert: This story includes details about the Season 8 finale of USA Network’s Suits.
Last month, Suits creator Aaron Korsh told Deadline how he and the Season 8 finale co-writers ended up changing the planned ending at the last minute, writing a new final scene that would have fans talking. That may be an understatement. After eight years of will they/won’t they teases, Harvey and Donna hooked up in the last seconds on tonight’s finale.
It was Harvey who ran to her after giving her forlorn glances all season and Donna admitting to her latest boyfriend, Thomas, earlier in the finale that she has been trying to cut Harvey out of her life but was not sure she “would ever be able to.”
The romantic epilogue followed the dramatic conclusion of Daniel Hardman’s quest to get Harvey disbarred for breaking privilege, which in fact had been done by Donna.

USA Network’s legal drama Suits will be coming to an end after the upcoming ninth season, which will premiere in summer 2020.
Over the years, as in any long-running series, cast members come and go. We saw three of Suits’ original six series regulars exit in Seasons 6-7, Gina Torres, Patrick J. Adams and Meghan Markle. Following a reboot at the start of Season 8, three new series regulars, Dulé Hill, Amanda Schull and Katherine Heigl joined original stars Gabriel Macht, Sarah Rafferty and Rick Hoffman.
Suits, which debuted in 2011, rose to become the network’s most popular series for several years. In an interview with Deadline, series creator Aaron Korsh revealed that there is a possibility for original stars Adams and Markle and other fan favorites to come back in the final 10 episodes. Stay tuned for that.
From Universal Cable Productions, Suits was created and is executive produced by Korsh.

After the milestone 200th episode airs tonight, October 15 (see promo photos and a sneak peek), Smallville turns it attention to the next new episode on tap for October 22. In it, Lois will play the Egyptian goddess Isis.
As the goddess of motherhood, magic and fertility, Isis has appeared in many popular culture forms, including as a character in several DC comics and in a 1970s live-action television show on CBS (in addition to appearing in several cartoon shows).
In the Smallville episode, Lois will be possessed by the spirit of Isis and will attempt to sacrifice Clark in order to use his body to resurrect her husband, Osiris. The CW has released a few promo photos for the episode. Lois’ costume is reminiscent of the one worn in the 1970s CBS show.
