Phillip Barnett(I)
Phillip went to High School in Cedarville, Arkansas where he was active
in sports and started three years for the varsity basketball team.
After graduation, he did not plan to attend college, but ended up at
Westark Junior College in Fort Smith, AR where he received an Associate
degree. During this time he received offers to play basketball at
several small colleges in Arkansas and Oklahoma. He ended up enrolling
at five colleges, Westark, Northeastern Oklahoma State University, John
Brown University, University of Arkansas-Little Rock, and the
University of Arkansas-Fayetteville before graduating in 2005 from the
UA with a law degree and passed the bar exam in 2006. Between high
school and college he ran several very good 60m times in open track
meets, and tried out for semi-pro basketball teams, and took up the
sport of tennis. He also enrolled in drama classes at some of the
various universities he was enrolled, and worked with his mother and
father who were involved in drama and acting. Also, very interested in
horse racing, writing several instructional papers for better
handicapping methods during college. His favorite class during college
was Russian studies at the University of Arkansas. He still loves horse
racing, sprinting and playing basketball. Has a supporting role in
"Eight Ways to Eat a Werewolf, Nine Ways to Die", an independent drama
about a young person murdered and mutilated because of a rare genetic
problem called "werewolf disease" and how family and friends cope with
the loss. The film is planned for filming in Arkansas in the fall and
winter of 2007. Phillip also enjoys going to boxing matches and other
sporting events with his family, spending time at home and reading a
variety of books including "graphic novels" (Bleach, Naruto, Inuyasha,
and Death Note among others). He says he enjoys acting and drama and
works very hard at it for whenever an opportunity like "Eight Ways...",
comes along.
