I'll be honest. I can't help but feel that I've failed my readers.
While I've never claimed to be a foremost authority on the original Quantum Leap series, I think I'm pretty well-versed.
So when Quantum Leap Season 1 Episode 4 plays out its "In Plain Sight" theme with Magic being a former leapee from the Og Ql Season 3 Episode 2, a connection I could've made if I'd just Googled, "Herbert 'Magic' Williams" Weeks ago -- say, when I interviewed Ernie Hudson -- I can only hang my head and admit mea culpa.
It's a helluva solid narrative theme. I give the writers kudos for that. With Tammy Jean being El Serpiente, Addison being Ben's mystery memory woman, and Jake admitting that the thought of Eva being hurt or killed while bounty hunting is driving his move to Illinois, they drive that message home.
Another thing they handle well is the "gender-creative" situation...

In this week’s Quantum Leap, Ben found himself in the body of a boxer named Danny Hill (played by Jermaine Alverez Martin) in 1977.
The team was still working on Ben’s coding, so it may take some time to figure out how to get him home. In the meantime, he must focus on helping this fighter from losing a championship fight which cost him his career. Reports stated he was distracted and unlike himself. Ben was there to figure out what happened.

As the series hits its stride, the primary difference emerging is the presence of a long-arc antagonist, Janis Cavalicci, working at odds with the Ql team. This contrasts with Sam and Al's situation in the original series, where they had only a simple (!) task with no adversaries to speak of.
On Quantum Leap Season 1 Episode 3, Janis not only steals and sets up tech that could interfere directly with the Ql project and Ben's ability to return home, but she also drugs her own mother to get at it after confronting Beth with her lack of faith in Janis's abilities. Are we witnessing a villain origin moment?
Meanwhile, Ben's painful learning curve is both physical and emotional for himself and Addison as memories start to emerge.
It's fascinating to note how many bodies hit the ground in the scope of this adventure.

Grim news for fans of Zoo, as it's been confirmed that the third season will be the show's last...
Hot on the heels of welcome news that both Salvation and Star Trek: Discovery have been renewed over at CBS comes some rather more disappointing information from the network: they've chosen to cancel one of their previously more successful shows, Zoo, after three seasons.
See related iZombie season 4 adds The Walking Dead's Daniel Bonjour
Zoo had a kind of weird, but incredibly beneficial, deal with both CBS and Netflix, where the crew were able to keep hold of a pretty high budget for a summer show in exchange for agreeing to release seasons to the streaming giant just after they finished airing, but it appears it wasn't enough to save the series when the ratings slipped from an average of 4.45 million viewers during the second season to 2.65 million viewers during the third.

Exclusive: VOD platform planning five-ten original shows.

The move comes one year after the platform launched on desktop, mobile and Ott channels and will allow Warner and his team to produce five to 10 Flix Premiere Originals over the next two years.

The CW has a "super" new lineup for Fall 2016-2017, including the arrival of "Supergirl," which appears to be making a smooth transition from CBS on the same night and time, plus "Supernatural" moving once again for Season 12, this time back to Thursdays. *Updated 5/12 with new events and guests* There are dozens of horror and comic events every year, and that gives fans plenty of opportunities to meet Robert Kirkman or one of the many cast members from The Walking Dead. Although it's a bit early for some of the bigger conventions to announce their full guest lists, we put together an initial list of stops so you can start making your travel plans.
New to the The Walking Dead convention circuit in 2015 are Tyler James Williams, Alexandra Breckenridge, and Seth Gilliam, along with some of the other new cast members we've seen in Season 5. If you're looking to catch most of The Walking Dead cast together at once, your best chance will be at the San Diego Comic-Con in July and the New York Comic Con in October. There have been some really well-chosen songs used in this season of The Walking Dead, but there was no more apt way to open "Try" than with Nine Inch Nails' "Somewhat Damaged."
The episode began with the aftermath of Aiden's (Daniel Bonjour) death, which was partly due to his own stupidity and unwillingness to listen – a fairly common disease among the population of Alexandria. Carol (Melissa McBride) tried to make nice by leaving a tuna casserole on the Monroes' doorstep with a note that read, "We're truly sorry for your loss." Deanna (Tovah Feldshuh) left the casserole and brought...

The Walking Dead crew may have found a home in Alexandria, but that doesn't mean they're safe, as evidenced in Sunday's episode of the hit AMC zombie drama. Warning, spoilers! Seriously, turn away now! Noah, we hardly knew ye. Everybody Hates Chris star Tyler James Williams' character met the ultimate end in perhaps the most gruesome death the show has ever done. Seriously. Hey, if you're going to go, you might as well go big. While on a supply run, things took a terrible turn when Aiden (Daniel Bonjour) shot a zombie wearing combat armor. That combat armor included a grenade. Oops. The resulting blast caused life-threatening head trauma for Tara (Alanna Masterson) and ultimately...

Let's just get it out of the way: Noah (Tyler James Williams) died on this week's episode of Twd, and it was an awful, needless waste. The people of Alexandria got him killed, and Glenn (Steven Yeun) is not going to forget it.

Has Rick's gang in The Walking Dead been surviving in the wild for so long that they now can't live in domestication?
This review contains spoilers.
5.12 Remember
I've never had a pet from a breeder or a pet store. All my pets have been found or rescued via some way. With every rescued pet, particularly the cats I've had that have come from cat rescue organizations, there's always a little bit of work involved in making that cat your friend, rather than just some animal you keep feeding. However, there's a certain point when a cat is destined to be an outside cat, and there's no amount of coddling, feeding, or toys that can make that creature into a domesticated animal. That goes double for domestic animals that get lost or escape to the outside world. It changes the animal in a way that can't be undone.

In "Remember," Glenn (Steven Yeun) said it best when he told the survivors' de facto new leader: "We need to make this work. ... We were almost out there too long." It wasn't new information, of course, but that reality was present in every single one of Team Rick's interactions with the denizens of the Alexandria Safe-Zone. Led by Deanna Monroe (Tovah Feldshuh), their new home was almost too idyllic for any of them to trust. "People out there are always looking for an angle," Rick (Andrew Lincoln) told Deanna. "Looking to play on your weakness. They measure you by what they can take from you.

Dolph Lundgren, playing a hard case lawman, lays down the law to fellow hard case lawman Randy Couture in an Exclusive clip from director Giorgio Serafini’s “Ambushed”. Check it out below. I still contend that Sylvester Stallone and his “Expendables” buddies should get together one evening and come up with a coherent Expendables Movie Universe, where characters from the movie team-up. You could do prequels before they became Expendables, or jump ahead in time, or do side stories. I’m telling you, it would work. Call me, Sly! “The Expendables” co-stars Dolph Lundgren and Randy Couture team up in “Ambushed”, though they’re not playing their characters from “The Expendables”. It would be cool if they did, though, right? I don’t know why Stallone doesn’t spin-off the characters, kinda like how Marvel does it. It could be The Expendables Cinematic Universe, or Ecu. So Jet Li’s character would get his own movie, and would cameo in a Stallone Barney Ross movie, who would cameo in a Dolph Lundgren and Randy Couture team-up. You get the idea. Until that happens, we’ll just have to make do with guys like Couture and Lundgren showing up in the same movies, like director Giorgio Serafini’s cop actioner “Ambushed”. Check out two clips from that team-up below. Ambushed charts the dark, seductive underbelly of Los Angeles, told from the point of view of two of its seedier denizens,...

Midnight Movie: The Killer Cut
Stars: Rebekah Brandes, Daniel Bonjour, Greg Cirulnick, Brea Grant, Mandell Maughan, Stan Ellsworth, Jon Briddell, Michael Swan, Michael Schwartz | Written by Jack Messitt, Mark Garbett | Directed by Jack Messitt
Originally released back in 2009, Midnight Movie was a cult hit amongst horror fans, gaining praise for its cool killer and 80s slasher stylings. Jump forward to 2011 and Bigfoot Entertainment gave director Jack Messitt a chance to go back and revisit the film, producing the flick he originally wanted, with newly shot scenes, restored footage from the original shoot, new VFX and new score composed just for this iteration of the movie which was dubbed Midnight Movie: The Killer Cut.
Jump forward again to the beginning of this year and director Messitt dropped me an email asking if I’d like to take a look at the new cut of the film, and being a fan of...

Fits and starts, that’s where much of the past five-plus years of online dramas and sci-fi series have been stuck. Some notable and pushing things forward, while many dragged the medium sideways with only comedy getting mainstream praise. But it’s fall of 2011, and there are signs the good stuff is finally here. Rcvr debuted today from Machinima, as one of its largest and most ambitious new original series to date. Not only is it a sci-fi drama, a genre well underserved on YouTube, it’s a period piece set in 1973 rural Arkansas. There’s a definite X-Files vibe here, with the story centering around a covert organization, led by Luke Weber (Daniel Bonjour), investigating extraterrestrial encounters, or, specifically a set of RCVRs who’s bodies are vessels of alien communications.
