- Andrew took Hollywood actor Thomas Jane into an Italian coffee shop in Devizes, Wiltshire where Thomas became embroiled in a heated conversation with Sandra the waitress about the availability of mustard. Sandra asked Andrew who Thomas was at which point Andrew told her Thomas was his brother from out of town. Sandra, becoming more exasperated, said "You two look nothing like each other" at which point Andrew said "No, mum worked in a circus". Andrew and Thomas are not related. English mustard is rarely available in Italian coffee shops. Sandra has since moved away.
- Andrew's mum, Maxine, was PA to Theo Cowan, head of publicity at the Rank Organization.
- Graham Chapman's film, 'The odd job', was probably Andrew's first film appearance on the cutting room floor. Filming in Notting Hill one Sunday.
- Andrew is Godfather to the daughter of Paul Martin.
- Andrew's brother was the late great Flamenco guitarist Felipe Rompesillas. Felipe appeared in the movie Snatch, in one of the fight scenes with Brad Pitt and Jason Statham. Using Hollywood stars as underarm deodorant was just one of Felipe's less crazy eccentricities.
- Whilst working at Hamleys Toy Shop, Regent Street, London during the 1980s, Andrew's illustrious customers included Fanny Cradock, Siouxsie Sioux and Nicholas Ball. Andrew was well known as the Regent Street monkey puppet man, working alongside Jeremy Steyn, star of 'Bar Mitzvah Boy' and 'The Professionals'.
- In September 2016 Andrew was diagnosed with stage three colon cancer, undergoing radical surgery at the Cromwell Hospital in London. He has since contributed to colon cancer awareness and Cancer Research fundraisers, including articles for Bowl Cancer UK. Andrew is back working on projects and productions.
