An interesting effort is coming your way before long, and it’s pulling together a cast that will make it a kind of who’s who of underappreciated actors. Ghost Team, directed by Oliver Irving, has announced its cast, which includes Jon Heder, David Krumholtz, and many more.
Heder hasn’t managed to find material that resonated with audiences since Napoleon Dynamite, at least, not to the extent he deserves, and Krumholtz is almost the poster boy for not getting the recognition that you’d expect. Unfortunately, both actors often play characters that may not seem that difficult, and/or are something of a sidekick.
The new film, about a team of paranormal investigators who find themselves in over their heads, also stars Melonie Diaz, Paul W. Downs, Justin Long, and the woefully overlooked Amy Sedaris.
Though the film can’t mention its own indie status enough, meaning the budget is extremely tight,...

The official Ghostbusters franchise is back in a big way next year thanks to Paul Feig and his new cast, but there are others who want to snatch a piece of the spook-tracking pie, albeit without the budget or the proton packs. Justin Long, Jon Heder, David Krumholtz and more are all signed on for the cast of indie comedy Ghost Team. Oliver Irving has just kicked off production on the film, working from a script by Peter Warren. Long, Heder and Krumholtz are joined in the cast by Melonie Diaz, Paul W. Downs, Tom Schiller and the always reliable Amy Sedaris for a story that finds a team of ghost hunters embarking on a fresh investigation into paranormal activity. Except this time, it might be a little closer to home and possibly more than they can handle. While this bunch might not have the sort of high-tech gear that the usual Ghostbusters carry,...

Forget news posts- I'm feeling a bit nostalgic and need to share... My obsession with these four glossy black books known as the Twilight saga began around October of 2008. It seems so long ago now, that the anticipation for the first movie drove me and fellow Twilighters wild. We had custom shirts made. We squealed. We talked Twilight shop non-stop. To this day, I can infuse Twilight lingo into any average conversation. In 2009, my world changed. What started as a simple outlet to vent, spread news, and oscillate between real-world obligations and an alternate reality exploded. What would have been a pipe dream months ago, the absolute fortune to interview entertainment figures, has now become a part of my reality. Real world and alternate reality have collided. Among the faces: Kellan Lutz- part one and part two Daniel Cudmore Gil Birmingham Oliver Irving, director, How to Be Ok Go...

Following Access Hollywood's outing of its preview, the video documenting the audition Robert Pattinson did for the part of Art in "How to Be" has arrived in full. Cut in three clips and accumulate eight minutes in total, the footage which will be included in the DVD version of director/writer Oliver Irving's independent comedy was brought out by MTV.
All three clips focus on what seems to be a break up scene between Rob's character Art and a woman named Jessica. In one of the clips, the Cedric Diggory in "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" can be seen delivering words such as, "What if I told you something about my childhood? Maybe you'll understand. Maybe you'll reconsider."
"How to Be" itself revolves around Art, a young man going through a quarter-life crisis. On April 29, it was released in the U.S. on demand on IFC Festival Direct.

Before Robert Pattinson landed his famed role of Edward Cullen in "Twilight", he took a part in an independent comedy drama "How to Be", playing lead character Art. As the movie is closing in to its DVD release date, Access Hollywood offered fans a chance to get a preview of his audition tape for the part.
The short compilation of footage features the Cedric Diggory in "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" trying different characterizations of Art when delivering his lines. At one point, he can be seen saying, "I feel it's all wrong." On another take, he stuffed tissue into his nose to simulate how his character deliver lines following a beat up.

Robert Pattinson nearly gave up on his acting ambitions before landing the lead as a vampire in Twilight - because he couldn't snag the roles he dreamed of playing.
Pattinson first shot to fame playing wizard Cedric Diggory in 2005's Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire - but he began to plot a career as a musician when he failed to secure any more inspiring movie work.
And it wasn't until he landed the part of an awkward musician in filmmaker Oliver Irving's independent movie How To Be that his love for acting was reignited.
Irving tells People.com, "He was thinking about giving up acting and maybe doing music solely when this role (in How To Be) came along. He wanted to play the roles he wasn't getting... He was looking for something more challenging."
And the director made sure to push Pattinson during filming, asking him to play the guitar and harmonica while disguising his good looks with a strange haircut and ill-fitting clothing.
Irving adds: "I said, 'You're banned from cutting your hair between now and the shoot.' We had to give him the most awkward haircut we possibly could, and we cut his trouser length a little bit too high. Things like that played down his apparent good looks."
And Irving insists Pattinson rose to the challenge, often showing off musical skills too advanced for his character: "He downplayed how good he was. A lot of the time he would turn out to have a really good (instrument) technique and we told him he needed to play it more simply."...

Robert Pattinson has become a central part of the appeal of the Twilight film series adapted from Stephenie Meyer's novels.
But the 22-year-old British star nearly gave up acting and switched to a career in music, it's been reported.
Director Oliver Irving, who worked with Pattinson in the film How To Be, told People: "He was thinking about giving up acting and maybe doing music solely when this role [in How To Be] came along. He wanted to play the roles he wasn't getting."
After Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, in which Pattinson played Cedric Diggory, the actor was looking for something more challenging, says Irving.
Irving says he isn't surprised that Pattinson's star has risen since the Twilight film: "He has a playfulness and naivety that he was able to inject into the character. He's very down to earth and unpretentious. I think that's probably what makes him appealing."

The director of 'Twilight' hunk Robert Pattinson's latest independent film says the vampire heartthrob considered ending his acting career. Oliver Irving, director of 'How to Be,' tells People.com that the 22-year-old actor wanted a new challenge and was thinking about pursuing his music interests. "He was thinking about giving up acting and maybe doing music solely when this role came along." The director says that Pattinson's being cast as the lead playing an awkward, quirky young musician who hires a self-help guru to come and live with him "got him back into the swing of things again." Among the challenges for Pattinson in 'How to Be' -- which filmed prior to 'Twilight' -- were playing the guitar and harmonica. Pattinson sang two songs on the independent flick's soundtrack. Irving says Pattinson's performance in 'How to Be' showed he was an accomplished musician as well as a good actor.

22-year-old heartthrob Robert Pattinson plays a quirky musician on his upcoming drama comedy flick "How to Be". He recently was spotted filming a scene for the indie flick, wearing a pink-stripped shirt in a basketball court. He was seen giggling as he held a ball on his hand.
"How to Be" is a "dark comedy" directed by Oliver Irving and produced by Justin Kelly in association with IFC Films. The flick centers on an "enigmatic poet" named Art who struggles to escape from his depressed life by becoming a musician in London. He finally is inspired by a book entitled "It's Not Your Fault". Being excited by the content of the book, Art invites the author of the book to live with him and his parents, which soon becomes "painfully funny journey about dysfunction and growing up".
