Dick Johnson & Tommygun vs. the Cannibal Cop has wrapped principal photography in Buffalo, NY, and we have the first set of stills right here. Get a look at this upcoming horror comedy, or face the wrath of Dick. Trust us... Dick wrath sucks.
The film, an action-horror-buddy cop hybrid, was written by John Renna, who co-stars with Sam Qualiana. Danny Hicks, Debbie Rochon, and Timothy Patrick Quill are also in the cast.
"Working with Danny and Tim, and finally getting to direct Debbie, was a true honor," says Renna.
He also gives a lot of credit to his location, "The support we received from local businesses was staggering. Buffalo actively supports film and art, making a lot possible on a minimal budget."
Qualiana plays Dick Johnson, a by-the-book detective who partners with rough-around-the-edges Jeff "Tommygun" Thompson to track down the elusive and mysterious Cannibal Cop. Hicks plays their captain, who...

Actress Lynn Lowry has joined the cast of Sam Qualiana’s upcoming found footage monster movie The Legend of Six Fingers, according to author and filmmaker Gregory Lamberson, who is producing.
Writer-director Qualiana and Lamberson previously collaborated on Snow Shark: Ancient Snow Beast and worked together on Chris Olen Ray’s Battledogs and Debbie Rochon’s Model Hunger. Lowry, memorable for her roles in George Romero’s The Crazies and David Cronenberg’s Shivers (aka They Came from Within), starred in Model Hunger, currently in post-production.
“I’m not being hyperbolic when I say that Lynn is amazing in Model Hunger,” says Lamberson. “It’s a benchmark performance that ranks up there with Terry O’Quinn’s work in The Stepfather, and Sam and I are thrilled to have her in The Legend of Six Fingers. Author and filmmaker Gregory Lamberson dropped us a line to let us know that in the spring of 2013 he will be producing a new horror comedy, Dry Bones, from a screenplay he wrote for director Michael O’Hear. The film will co-star O’Hear and Melantha Blackthorne.

When we first heard about Echo Lake last December, it was slated to be a web series, but things have changed as co-writer (with Kelsey Zukowski) and director Jonathan Moody now tells us it's turned into a feature. They're in the midst of fundraising to finish shooting this winter, and to help move things along in that regard, they've released a new trailer.
The film from Sick Flick Productions stars Chason Hunter, Brittany Colley, Andre Bland, Eli Harris, Kelsey Zukowski, Jonathan Moody, Sam Qualiana, Brandon McPherson, Robert Shepherd, and Frances Mitchell; and once Phase II kicks into gear, they'll be joined by a few more recognizable names: Jackey Hall (Cyborg Conquest, 869), Shawn C. Phillips (Haunted High, Chillerama), Sierra Holmes (Piranha 3Dd, VH1’s "Scream Queens"), and Melantha Blackthorne (Sineaters, The Witching Hour).
Synopsis:
"In this town... nobody's safe."

There's just something about a giant killer carrying a huge weapon while wearing a pig's head over his own that sends a shiver down the old spine. That's exactly what we're gonna get and more once Porkchops starts swinging.
Director Eamon Hardiman's Porkchops is actually a sequel to his previous film Porkchop while at the same time being a bit of a "reboot." Kind of like Evil Dead 2.
The film stars Sam Qualiana, Angela Pritchett, Kaylee Williams, Missy Dawn, Shawn C. Phillips and Brian Gunnoe as Burt Fleming along with a host of fresh newcomers to the genre who hopefully will be sliced up in truly heinous ways.
Synopsis
When young Simon Robertson moves with his family to a new town, he thinks the biggest peril will be the local bullies. Unfortunately, Simon's friend Meg informs him that this town has a much darker secret: a body count stretching...

Producer Greg Lamberson dropped us a line to let us know that principal photography has wrapped on Sam Qualiana's Snow Shark: Ancient Snow Beast up in the Buffalo area, and he also provided us with a half-dozen new behind-the-scenes stills.
From the Press Release: Snow Shark: Ancient Snow Beast, the feature film debut of 25-year-old writer/director Sam Qualiana, has wrapped production in Lockport, New York, outside Buffalo. Qualiana originally made a Snow Shark short seven years ago, when he and his brothers attached a shark fin to their dog. After winning the Buffalo Screams Horror Film Festival’s “Filmmaker to Watch” award for his short crime drama No Road Out, he decided to remake the Snow Shark short using the skills he had developed in the intervening years. Reaction to the project was so positive he turned it into a feature instead and started shooting on weekends, before the script was completed,...

The 2nd Annual Buffalo Screams Horror Film Festival is calling for entries for its 2011 edition. Based on the success of the inaugural event, co-founders Gregory Lamberson and Emil J. Novak have expanded the programming from four nights to five; the festival will run in late October with dates to be announced. The deadline for submissions is September 15th, 2011.
“We’ve replaced our trailer competition with Student and Medium Length film categories,” says Lamberson (Slime City Massacre). “We’ve also added Student, Short, and Medium Length categories to our screenplay competition. Our focus will always be on horror, but we’ve retained our 'More Than Horror' categories, which accommodate other genres such as Thriller, Science Fiction, Fantasy, Western, Action and Crime Drama… the cool stuff.”
Some of the winners at last year’s festival included the features El Monstro Del Mar! and True Nature, the horror short "The Familiar", the More...

Production has begun on Sam Qualiana's Snow Shark: Ancient Snow Beast in Buffalo, New York. The way this sounds I can totally see this on Syfy or The Asylum in the future, of course along with my Crocaloctopus! Check out the teaser trailer after the jump.
From the Press Release:
Sam Qualiana, a recipient of the Buffalo Screams Horror Film Festival’s “Filmmaker to Watch” award, is the writer-director-cinematographer of this high concept project, which is being played straight; in true Roger Corman fashion, Qualiana had a title, a poster, and even a teaser before he had completed the script.
"I always have had a fear of sharks,” says the 24-year-old filmmaker. “Not a lot of things scare me, but sharks terrify and fascinate me at the same time. I can't go very far into the ocean without turning around, and even swimming in a lake gives me the willies.

Dealing with snow sucks! And it just got a lot suckier! Lockport, New York native Sam Qualiana is currently shooting Snow Shark: Ancient Snow Beast in the Buffalo area. The high concept project, which is being played straight, came together quickly; in true Roger Corman fashion, Qualiana had a title, a poster, and even a teaser before he had completed the script. A cross between Jaws and The Thing, Qualiana hopes to have Snow Shark completed by May, and plans to hit the film festival circuit shortly after.

Filmmaker Jonathan Moody, who is in the works on horror webseries "Scream Queen Campfire" and the horror anthology Trick or Eat, has created another new webseries being planned to debut April 12th, 2011, called "Echo Lake". It's a horror mystery thriller about a small town beset by a relentless serial killer. Anyone can be a suspect, and anyone can also be a victim.
From the Press Release:
The idea of the series is to do a murder mystery where each week fans watch 15 minutes and see people die in every episode. Who the killer is will always be questioned. And you won't find out who it is until the sixth and final episode. The way it's being made is to turn "Echo Lake" into a 90-minute feature film in the end.
