It’s fitting that in the last episode of the Saban Brands era of Power Rangers it has to once again acknowledge its biggest narrative mistake. Dinosaurs coming back to life at the end of Dino Super Charge. A decision so baffling that it forced all of Dino Charge to be shunted off into another universe.

“Mystery Science Theater 3000” has hired industry veteran Elie Dekel to help expand the brand of the hit cult TV series reboot, TheWrap has learned. Satellite of Love LLC in partnership with Shout! Factory and Joel Hodgson have named Dekel, the former president of Saban Brands, as strategic brand advisor and worldwide consumer products licensing agent for “MST3K.” As strategic brand advisor and master licensing agent, Dekel will guide the branding, licensing and expansion of the series. After ramping up the exec ranks of its newly launched film division this spring, Haim Saban’s Saban Brands has hired Doug Finberg to lead brand marketing across its portfolio of properties. The former Evp Marketing at MGM Studios will step into the newly created role of Svp Marketing, heading marketing, publicity, creative, promotions, and digital initiatives at Saban. Those brands include Power Rangers, which Saban is rebooting with Lionsgate as a big-screen franchise, Paul Frank, Macbeth, Julius Jr., Popples and Emojiville. Saban Films launched in May with an ambitious plan to release 8-10 commercial, talent-driven features per year, then hired Jonathan Saba as VP Marketing and Azniv Taschyan as VP Finance.

Saban’s Power Rangers get charged in the next season of the iconic franchise, entitled Power Rangers Dino Charge. Debuting on Nickelodeon (in the Us) in 2015, this new season will deliver all-new dino-fueled action and adventure to fans of all ages. The series will roll out globally later that year.
