Another contestant has been revealed in this year’s series of The Masked Singer.
Saturday 7 January’s episode of the new season saw characters including Piece of Cake, Fawn, Rubbish, Rhino, Pigeon and Jacket Potato face off against one another.
The panel of judges made some wild guesses in this episode, with names of famous politicians, comedians, singers and athletes all being thrown into the mix.
Jacket Potato, Rubbish and Piece of Cake ended up in the bottom three, with the judges left to decide who to vote out.
The judges first decided to save Rubbish, following his performance of “Let Me Entertain You” by Robbie Williams.
Jacket Potato was next to be saved, after singing “Viva Las Vegas” by Elvis Presley.
Ultimately, Piece of Cake was voted out of the contest, revealing herself to be Scottish singer Lulu, who had performed “Shiver” by Ed Sheeran on the contest.

Faith Hill has shared a “rare” clip of Tim McGraw dancing to Olivia Rodrigo’s track “Good 4 U”.
In the video, McGraw, who is Hill’s husband, can be seen throwing his arms around emphatically in the back of his car while Hill laughs and films him.
The video is apparently a “rare look” into the private lives of the country singers that only Hill and their three daughters get to see.
Hill shared the video on her Instagram page on Wednesday (4 January), saying his moves were the “best way to enter 2023”.
“This is a rare, very rare look into a side of my husband that only his girls and I get to see,” she wrote as a caption to the light-hearted post.
“I think it is the best way to enter into 2023. Yes, it is not the first day of the new year but I believe the first week still counts.

“The music on that Usb is truly precious and really important to me,” Macmanus had written in a statement at the time.
“It’s years and years of collected music from shows I’ve done all over the world and it would mean so much to me if you could do me the grace of returning it,” she added.
Now, Mac has revealed that the Usb has been returned. She shared the news by posting an image of the stick alongside an anonymous note.

Lizzo has issued a rebuke to critics who claim she makes music for a specific demographic.
In her HBO documentary Love, Lizzo, the “Juice” singer explains that she often gets called out for genre-hopping, and said some people have accused her of making music that appeals solely to white people.
Now, she has addressed those views while being interviewed on Tuesday (13 December), calling them “very hurtful”.
While appearing on the The Howard Stern Show, Lizzo was asked about the comments she receives.
“[It’s] very hurtful, only because I am a Black woman, and I feel like it really challenges my identity and who I am, and diminishes that, which I think is really hurtful,” she told Stern.
Lizzo affirmed that her music is for “literally everybody and anybody”.
“I don’t try to gatekeep my message from people. So all three of those things for me, I’m just like, ‘You...

Robbie Williams has revealed that he threw up on stage during his gig at the â.â.Sonderfreifläche Messe in Munich, Germany on 27 August.
After falling ill with a fever, the 48-year-old has spoken about how he powered through to avoid disappointing the many fans who’d pay to see him perform.
Responding to Annie Macmanus on her latest podcast episode Changes, Williams explained that he had started feeling ill while touring some shows that were postponed due to the pandemic.
“I had a fever before going on, and I felt dreadful,” Williams recalled.
“There were over 100,000 people at this gig and the responsibility of being able to give them their money’s worth and to stand in front of that many people, whilst feeling that way was a heady mix.

Sam Fender, Little Simz, and Harry Styles are among the artists shortlisted for the 2022 Mercury Prize.
The shortlist was unveiled in July, comprising 12 albums – from rap and jazz to indie and Cornish folk-rock – that will compete for the coveted award at a ceremony held this September.
This year’s entries are among the most eclectic in recent years. Little Simz is shortlisted for the second time with her critically adored Sometimes I Might Be Introvert, following on from her nod in 2019 for Grey Area.
Rock singer Sam Fender receives his debut nomination for his second LP, Seventeen Going Under, as does pop star Harry Styles, who has been shortlisted for his third studio album, Harry’s House. His record is arguably the most “pure pop” album to be shortlisted since Ed Sheeran’s controversial nomination in 2017.
First-time nominees make up most of this year’s nominees, following last year’s shortlist which included 10 debuts.

Time’s Up U.K. has issued a statement regarding actor John Barrowman’s appearance on a British talk show, in which he claimed that repeatedly exposing his penis on set and in interviews “absolutely is not” sexual harassment.
There have been multiple reports of Barrowman, who has appeared in shows including “Doctor Who” and “Torchwood,” exposing himself publicly for over a decade. On Tuesday, the Scottish-born American actor appeared on ITV’s “Lorraine” to discuss the incidents, which he admitted to, albeit with various caveats.
“The assertion by John Barrowman that his well-documented actions do not constitute sexual harassment reveals yet again the need for the entertainment industry to underline and reassert expected standards of behaviour of which this is wholly unacceptable,” a spokesperson for Time’s Up U.K. told Variety. “Flashing people Is sexual harassment and it is never funny.”

The hard-punching number follows up on Stormzy’s 2017 track “Mr. Skeng,” off his debut album Gang Signs & Prayer, drawing on some of the same references in the lyrics. Covers are sometimes done best when the one taking on the track has a special admiration for the original artist – it goes deeper than just simply liking their music. When there’s that unique connection, the cover can turn out much better than originally imagined. For Alessia Cara, the music of Frank Ocean means a lot to her, and that’s shown off brilliantly in her new cover of his track, “Super Rich Kids.”
Stopping by Annie Mac’s BBC Radio 1 show, Cara performed a couple of her own tracks before dishing out a version of Ocean’s “Super Rich Kids.” She prefaced it with calling it one of the “most brilliant songs ever,” hoping that she could “do it justice.” As it turns out, she’s got no problem doing it justice and then some, as her rendition turns the R&B song into something a little more jazzier,...

Kanye West really addressed his potential presidential bid in 2020. While speaking to BBC Radio 1's Annie Mac Monday, the Life of Pablo rapper opened up about his September 2015 announcement at the VMAs when he said he would be running for president in 2020. Although the vocal rapper doesn't have a passion for the field of politics, he does, however, have "a view on humanity, on people, on the truth." As a result, Yeezus really wants to try to affect change in any way he can. "If there is anything that I can do with my time and my day, to somehow make a difference while I'm alive," West told the radio host, "I'm going to try to do it." The Grammy-winning artist also...

In case you were wondering, Kanye West is still serious about running for president in 2020. The "Famous" rapper sat down with BBC Radio 1's Annie Mac over the weekend and gave a wide-ranging interview that touched on everything from his ambition to design Ikea furniture to his desire to reach Potus status. While it seems obvious that the self-proclaimed "Yeezus" would want to hold the highest office in the land, he claims he's in it for more than just the glory. "When I talk about the idea of being president, I'm not saying I have any political views," said West,...

AlunaGeorge have achieved a remarkable degree of worldwide renown since DJ Snake remixed their 2013 single, “You Know You Like It” (which, oddly enough, didn’t even reach the mainstream until last year). Over the years, the duo have wracked up a series of big-name collaborations, the latest of which being their new release, “Mean What I Mean.”
NYC rapper Leikeli47 and Chicago singer/songwriter/emcee Dreezy contribute incendiary verses on the track which are interspersed with Aluna Francis’ own vocal musings. A rich, organic sound characterizes the whole of the production, which follows a moombahton-reminiscent drum pattern.
Francis told Annie Mac that the track was inspired by a pickup attempt that she had rejected, but then wrote the song after thinking of a better way she could have handled the situation. Seeing as how one of Leikeli47’s verses goes “Macaroni Tony in a ditch ’cause he grabbed my ass and called me a bitch,...

Let’s address the elephant in the room right off the bat: No, this is not yet another remix of Robin S’ 1993 classic “Show Me Love.” It is, in fact, the Skrillex remix of a track of the same name which features vocals from the likes of Chance The Rapper and Moses Sumney.
The meandering pace of the track is kept by a subtly syncopated low end, with Nicole Miglis’ feathery vocal from the original still taking center stage. Chance The Rapper’s verse is the most noteworthy addition to the arrangement, which otherwise occurs to us as one of Skrillex’s more minimalistic productions.
Hundred Waters is one of the more unexpected acts signed to Skrillex’s Owsla imprint. With his support, however, the Gainesville, Florida indie band will surely gain access to a substantially wider audience.

Flume sure knows how to build anticipation for an album. The Australian downtempo/future bass pioneer has let tracks from his long-awaited Skin LP trickle out at a snail’s pace, and now he’s used a guest appearance on British radio personality Annie Mac’s BBC Radio 1 show as a platform to premiere a new song from the album.
After brief introductions, Flume and Kai perform “Never Be Like You,” the first single from the effort. As they did during their performance of the song at Laneway Music Festival, the duo prove themselves capable of delivering both live and in the studio.
Next, however, is an as-yet untitled track – and Mac encourages those listening to call in and pitch their own titles. Dissonant melodies and almost melancholic vocals make it a darker song than the rest of what Flume’s put out so far on the Skin LP, and we’re definitely digging it.

When English outfits Disclosure and Rudimental met in the middle from polar ends of the dance music spectrum to headline and curate the inaugural edition of Wildlife Festival last year, nobody quite knew what to expect – but by and large, the event made for a resounding success. Now that the season for festival announcements is upon us, the festival’s organizers have confirmed its spirited return by releasing its 2016 lineup.
Just as with last year, the most notable quality of Wildlife Festival (a brand presumably inspired by Disclosure’s stage show concept of the same name) is that the lineup features a heaping helping of hip-hop names in addition to the electronic music artists that are to be expected. While the 2016 edition will see the return of staples like Annie Mac, Julio Bashmore and Andy C, musicians such as Ice Cube, Carl Cox and Busta Rhymes will play the festival for the first time.

Adding to the plethora of marvelous new music as of late, Beyoncé Knowles has a new single called “Hymn For The Weekend,” a collaboration with the boys in Coldplay.
The new track first leaked on Annie Mac’s BBC Radio 1 show on Monday night (November 30) and now it’s all over the internet.
Coldplay bass player Guy Berryman explained, “Well we had a song idea. It actually started off being quite a different kind of vibe, this song. Chris was wanting to write a sort of party song, and the words were ‘drinks on me, drinks on me.’ We said to him, ‘look, you can’t say that, you can’t get away with that,’ and so the whole kind of story of the song changed and then um, he asked Beyonce to sing on it and she very kindly said she would. The time has finally come to hear one of music's biggest collaborations come to life. After much anticipation, Beyoncé and Chris Martin have released their duet titled "Hymn for the Weekend" that delivers lyrics and beats you won't be able to get out of your head. Described as a gospel-infused party jam, the single first premiered on Annie Mac's BBC show in London Monday morning to the delight of many music fans. The track is expected to appear on Coldplay's new album out this Friday. As for how the collaboration came about, the story is quite impressive. "It actually started off being quite a different vibe, this song," bassist Guy Berryman told the BBC....

You might've thought they were bluffing, but Coldplay really did get Beyoncé on their new album (out Friday), and here's the new song to prove it. The band premiered "Hymn for the Weekend" on Annie Mac's BBC show, and if you were expecting a gospel-infused party jam, you're in luck! "The original words were 'drinks on me,' but we were like, 'Chris, you can't get away with that,'" bassist Guy Berryman explains. So, instead, they had Beyoncé sound like a one-woman symphony channeling the child of destiny to sing "so drink from me, drink from me when I was so thirsty" and other heavenly, nonsensical things. It's like if "Drunk in Love" were reimagined for Sunday service, so there's no telling what they had Blue Ivy do.

Sam Smith dropped by BBC Radio 1's Annie Mac show to talk about the release of "In the Lonely Hour (Drowning Shadows Edition)," an expanded version of his 2014 debut. One of the "new" songs on the re-release is a cover of Amy Winehouse's "Love is a Losing Game," which Mac played to intro the segment. It's not the first time Smith has covered Winehouse -- he's also done "Tears Dry on Their Own" in concert several times. Depending on whether you're more of a Smith or a Winehouse fan, you'll either cry because Smith's version is so beautiful or cry because Winehouse isn't around to truly do the song justice, and a mere cover of her brilliance is sacrilege. Anyway, here's Smith's version: And here's the original: ...

Sam Smith has been covering Amy Winehouse's "Tears Dry on Their Own" for quite some time, but perhaps because he got hold of a certain other British singer's Rolling Stone cover and saw said singer expressing her love for Amy, he's covered another one of Amy's masterpieces, the should-be-untouchable "Love Is a Losing Game." He debuted the cover (which will appear on the Drowning Shadows rerelease of his debut album) on Annie Mac's BBC show today, acknowledging that it's a "monster of a song" to cover. But, like Adele, he says he was so moved by the Amy Winehouse documentary that he felt compelled to honor her work with another, properly recorded cover. It's gorgeous and exactly what we've come to expect from Smith's vocal ability, but sadly it'll never replicate the emotional impact of Amy's original. (Just watch her sing it herself.) In other news, Smith says...

It seems like I’m always writing about Diplo‘s off-base collaborations these days. The bass music icon has been particularly outspoken about his disdain for formulaic Edm, which makes it ever more surprising to see him team up with Mad Decent signee Sleepy Tom on a future house track like “Be Right There.”
For that matter, Sleepy Tom himself isn’t exactly the poster child of future house. His recent future bass track with Grandtheft, “Hold On,” was already enough of a departure from his usual trap stylings, but the two artists clearly intended to make a big statement with the track by debuting it on Annie Mac’s BBC Radio 1 show.
Unfortunately, though, the track doesn’t add as much to the future house conversation as you might expect from the likes of Diplo. A vocal sample reminiscent of ’90s garage is offset by a testosterone-filled bass line...

DJing is an art form. Since its early days as a staple of 1970s discos and 1980s hip-hop, it has gradually become a curatorial style of musical presentation that is practised by many, but perfected by few. Another year, another hastily thrown-together list of influential figures in the Edm world.
It seems like every festival season, another music publication takes a stab at declaring some handful of industry figures to be the movement’s global tastemakers – InTheMix put together a decent one in 2013, but Rolling Stone demonstrated their complete lack of understanding of the dance music dynamic in 2014. We would expect a 2015 list compiled by Billboard to knock both out of the water since the publication has managed to keep its finger on the pulse of dance music, but they’ve managed to miss the mark as well.
