Manhattan’s Whitney Museum of American Art has been a busy party host lately. Last Wednesday, socialites gathered to take in the art work—on the walls and otherwise— at the institution’s annual Art Party. And last night, the city’s creative set, including Vanity Fair photographer-at-large Todd Eberle, gathered at the museum to celebrate the new retrospective “Dan Graham: Beyond.” Graham has been a pioneer of contemporary art since the late 1960s, and the exhibition explores his minimalist, conceptual, video, and performance work, focusing on the artist’s main theme: the changing relationship of the individual to society.
