Details are coming in on the pilot for Alan Ball's next series for HBO, All Signs of Death, loosely based on Charlie Huston's crime noir The Mystic Arts of Erasing All Signs of Death. Huston is penning the pilot script and the storyline description practically screams for a pretty, quirky boy:
"With his teaching career derailed by tragedy and his slacker days numbered, Webster Fillmore Goodhue makes an unlikely move and joins Clean Team, charged with tidying up L.A.'s grisly crime scenes. For Web, it's a steady gig, and he soon finds himself sponging a Malibu suicide's brains from a bathroom mirror and flirting with the man's bereaved and beautiful daughter. Then things get weird: The dead man's daughter asks a favor. Every cell in Web's brain tells him to turn her down, but something makes him hit the Harbor Freeway at midnight to help her however he can.

With "True Blood" chugging along quite nicely toward the end of its Season Three run, it seems Alan Ball has enough time on his hands to start prepping his next series for HBO, "All Signs of Death", which is based on the Charlie Huston crime noir novel The Mystic Arts of Erasing All Signs of Death. Word recently came down as to whom Ball has cast to appear in the pilot, and things are looking quite good indeed.
According to Deadline Hollywood Ben Whishaw (pictured, Perfume: The Story of a Murderer), Clayne Crawford ("24"), Mercedes Masöhn (Quarantine 2: Terminal ), Ron Yuan ("Prison Break"), Jeremy Ray Valdez (The Obama Effect), Mahershalalhashbaz Ali (Predators), and Kelsey Ford (Vampires Suck) are all confirmed for the pilot, which is being executive produced and directed by Ball.
Here's the book's synopsis, which, given that Huston himself is writing the script for the TV pilot, will probably be followed rather closely,...
