Donald Trump's campaign is blaming a "database error" after news broke that it had named a notorious white nationalist as one of its California delegates to the Republican National Convention. Trump's campaign released a statement saying it had withdrawn William Johnson - a leader of the American Freedom Party and a self-proclaimed white nationalist - from its list after the alleged computer error, but state officials say it's too late to remove him as the deadline has already passed, according to The Washington Post. The Southern Poverty Law Center’s Mark Potok said on MSNBC that Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev were motivated to their act of terrorism by conservative thinkers. They laughably centered this claim on the fact that the elder Boston Marathon bomber was partially influenced by Alex Jones – a conspiracy theorist slash entertainer without a political home. But this panel segment also displayed flagrant, and intentional, intellectual dishonesty by ignoring the bombers’ other sources of political influence.

Mark Potok, a fellow with the Southern Poverty Law Center, appeared on MSNBC to discuss the rise of right-wing militias over the course of the Obama presidency in connection with the bombing of the Boston Marathon on Monday. He said that foreign nations view Americans as being “insane” for allowing hate speech to continue to be protected by the First Amendment to the Constitution.

Conservative watchdogs say they're seeing liberal media bias in the coverage of the Boston Marathon bombing, and they're posting those findings online. On ABC’s Good Morning America, for example, reporter Pierre Thomas reminded guest Mark Potok of the Southern Poverty Law Center (which tracks hate groups) that Timothy McVeigh and Branch Davidian leader David Koresh, both of whom usually are cited as members of the far right, made their attacks on government personnel and property in April -- albeit years ago. “For those who hate America and know something of its history, Monday had particular meaning. In Massachusetts, Monday was a state holiday:

A 28-year-old broadcasting major at Texas State is raising money for male students who are at least 25 percent Caucasian. The Daily Beast's Lloyd Grove reports on a controversial new college scholarship that targets a demographic not normally singled out for financial aid.
Finally-help is on the way for America's downtrodden white males, especially the ones who believe they've been shut out of all that financial aid that is apparently being ladled like gravy on non-Caucasian college kids.

Cut off from the world by his iPhone earbuds and hoodie, neighbors and classmates say alleged murderer Jared Lee Loughner was a deeply disturbed young man who'd been wandering the neighborhood with an especially strange look in his eyes in recent days. But is he a calculating killer on a political mission-or a desperate young man battling severe mental illness? Eve Conant, Claire Martin and Masada Siegel report.• Jared Lee Loughner appeared in court on Monday. He did not enter a plea but confirmed that he understood the charges against him. He had a shaved head and a cut on his right temple. He was mostly silent, but appeared to smirk in front of the judge. • Loughner refuses to cooperate with officials and hasn't spoken since his arrest other than his courtroom appearance. • He'll be represented by Judy Clarke, the lawyer who defended Unabomber Ted Kaczynski and worked on Timothy McVeigh's legal team.
