Bill Sherman is an award-winning composer, producer, arranger, and orchestrator. He is best known for his work on In The Heights (2021), Sesame Street (1969) and tick, tick...Boom! (2021). Bill won the 2008 Tony Award for Best Orchestrations for In the Heights and the 2008 Grammy Award as the co-producer of the In The Heights Original Broadway Cast Album. He also won the 2011 Emmy Award for Outstanding Original Song-Children's and Animation for Sesame Street's "What I Am" and the 2014 Emmy Award for Outstanding Original Song-Children's and Animation for Sesame Street's "The Power of Yet" as well as the 2018 Emmy Award for Outstanding Original Song-Children's and Animation for Sesame Street's "A Song About Songs" featuring Sia. He is also a proud member of NY's premier hip-hop, improv and comedy group, Freestyle Love Supreme.
He and Alex Lacamoire were awarded the 2008 Tony Award for Orchestration for the musical, "In the Heights," at the Richard Rodgers Theatre in New York City.
He graduated from Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut.

Son-in-law of Lauren E. Kirland and Karl Kirkland of Montgomery, Alabama.
He was awarded a 2008 Grammy Award as part of the production team of the Original Cast Recording of "In The Heights".
