WASHINGTON -- It's true: Republicans and Hollywood can get along in an election year, at least when it comes to the Bush administration's attempt to raise awareness about the global HIV/AIDS pandemic.
Warner Bros. Entertainment has entered a public-private partnership with the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief. Chuck Dages, executive vp emerging technology at Warners., will oversee the effort.
Fittingly, a movie trailer illustrating PEPFAR's work and results in HIV prevention, care and treatment will be the first take. The movie trailer is an educational tool based on PEPFAR's 15-minute documentary, "Saving Lives Creating Hope", which depicts the fight against HIV/AIDS.

Warner Bros. exec Chuck Dages was named executive vp emerging technology at the studio's Home Entertainment Group.
In his new role, Dages retains his executive vp title but moves from Warner Bros. Technical Operations to the Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Group. The move was anticipated, along with the promotion of Darcy Antonellis to president of the studio's Technical Operations unit, following the recently departure of the studio's CTO Chris Cookson, who also held Antonellis' new title, and is now president of Sony Pictures Technologies.
Before his promotion, Dages was executive vp emerging technology at Warner Bros. Technical Operations. In his new role, Dages will continue to oversee Motion Picture Imaging, which is the studio's postproduction facility, and the Advanced Media Editorial department, which prepares feature films for distribution on airlines, cable networks and broadcast television. Additionally, he will lead projects involving industry and government groups related to repurposing the studio's entertainment assets. Dages will also work closely with Technical Operations; he will report to Kevin Tsujihara, president, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Group.
