According to Deadline’s report, the Grey’s Anatomy alum plays Emily, who is “smart, tough and observant, but also kind, empathetic and charming with a great – albeit dry – sense of humor.” Emily runs her small-town Christmas-themed store Under the Mistletoe, but also investigates local murders with the help of a local police detective and his teen daughter.

On Wednesday, Netflix's first formal Upfronts presentation brought some exciting news for fans of the streaming service's most beloved shows.
Ginny & Georgia, which has been in limbo since January, has secured a pickup for two more seasons, keeping the show on the air through what will likely be the fourth -- and final -- season.
In an exclusive post-mortem interview in January, then-showrunner Debra J. Fisher teased that she and series creator Sarah Lampert had mapped out a four-season run for the show.
The renewal announcement's delay is shocking, especially considering the show has been a strong performer for Netflix.
However, the streaming service confirmed that Sarah Glinski (Degrassi: Next Class) will take over as showrunner from Fisher.
There is no reason for the switcheroo, but fans will be happy knowing the show is returning.
Ginny & Georgia Season 2 concluded with countless cliffhangers, including Georgia being arrested for murder.

Netflix has renewed drama series “Ginny & Georgia” for two more seasons, naming a new showrunner to helm the next installments.
Debra J. Fisher oversaw the first two seasons of the show, which landed on Netflix in January 2021 and December 2022, respectively. The third and fourth seasons will be overseen by former “Degrassi” producer Sarah Glinski.
Glinski’s appointment took place before the Writers Guild of America went on strike.

Updated: Netflix has renewed Ginny & Georgia, starring Brianne Howey and Antonia Gentry, for a third and fourth season. Sarah Glinski (Degrassi: The Next Generation) has been named showrunner for the upcoming seasons. She replaces Debra J. Fisher, who served as showrunner on the first two seasons.
Given Ginny & Georgia’s very strong performance and very appealing economics, the two-season order is not a surprise; Netflix has done it on other series with similar pedigree, including Virgin River.
What is surprising was the four-month wait for a series of that level of ratings success to be renewed. According to sources, the pickup was done awhile ago but held for Netflix’s upfront.
As for the showrunner change, there had been rumors about friction between Fisher and Ginny & Georgia creator Sarah Lampert. By April, there was speculation that Fisher would be departing the series.

The Wellsbury Peaches are here to stay for at least two more seasons.
Netflix has ordered a third and fourth season of “Ginny & Georgia.” The streamer shared the announcement on Wednesday during this year’s Upfronts presentation.
Created by Sarah Lampert, the dramedy follows Ginny (Antonia Gentry), a 15-year-old who is more mature than her 30-year-old mother, Georgia (Brianne Howey) in a New England town, where Georgia decided to settle down with her daughter and son, Ginny and Austin (Diesel La Torraca). Jennifer Robertson, Felix Mallard, Sara Waisglass, Scott Porter and Raymond Ablack also star.
In January, Season 2 ratings for the Netflix drama took down “Wednesday” for the No. 1 spot on the Netflix Top 10 English TV List with 180.47 million hours viewed following its debut, making it the most-watched title on the streamer for the week of Jan. 2-8. Right on the heels of being poked fun at by “Saturday Night Live,” “Ginny & Georgia” has entered the top echelon of Netflix viewership. Season 2 of the mother-daughter series has reached Netflix’s Top 10 list of English TV seasons at No. 10.
Season 2 of the series, which premiered all eight episodes on January 5, has reached a total of 504.77 million hours watched in its fifth week of availability, according to numbers provided by Netflix. The streamer additionally estimates that 56 million households watched the season, although that’s based on its total hours viewed divided by its roughly 9 hour runtime. The show’s ascent means Season 2 of “13 Reasons Why,” another teen series, has been booted from the all-time list.
On Netflix’s chart dated January 30 through February 5, “Ginny & Georgia” Season 2 is at No. 2 behind fantasy show “Lockwood & Co,” with an additional 38.09 million hours viewed. Season 1 of “Ginny & Georgia” also makes the list,...

Netflix’s Gilmore Girls wannabe series Ginny & Georgia has returned for its second season.
Picking up right after series one’s cliffhanger, the second run follows the aftermath of Georgia’s (Brianne Howey) lies as they begin to unravel, with daughter Ginny (Antonia Gentry) struggling to cover for her.
And though the new episodes manage to explore mental health and racial identity in a way that leaves audiences with far less second-hand embarrassment than that of its 2021 debut – lest we forget Ginny and Hunter’s “Opression Olympics” – they still manage to maintain a healthy dose of teeth-clenching dialogue.
So, here’s a ranking of Ginny & Georgia’s season two dialogue... starting with the cringe and ending with the utterly painful.
Warning, possible season two spoilers to follow
“A cheese factory blew up in France. There was de-brie everywhere.”

Netflix users are not happy about an “outrageous” moment in the new season of Ginny and Georgia.
The series following 15-year-old Ginny (Antonia Gentry), and her relationship with her mother Georgia (Brianne Howey) after they move to a small town in New England, has returned for a second seaon following a successful run in February 2021.
However, viewers aren’t so sure about one particular storyline choice and have been highlighting the scene, which occurs at the end of episode five, on social media.
It features a kiss between two formerly disparate characters: Blue Farm Café owner Joe, played by Raymond Ablack, and Sabrina Grdevich’s character Cynthia.
Viewers aren’t happy for two reasons – firstly, because they were hoping Joe might have a romance with Georgia, and secondly, because they don’t feel these two characters have much chemistry.
Twitter user @EvaNadya9 surmised, “I guess they decided to put two broken hearts together but yeah.

Calling all peaches, the trailer for Season 2 of “Ginny & Georgia” has arrived.
“I finally understand why Georgia’s always running,” Antonia Gentry’s voice narrates as her character Ginny goes for an icy jog out in snowy Wellsbury, Massachusetts.
Cut to Gentry bending over out of breath and then screaming after a tense montage shows the younger flashback version of Georgia hastening to double lock her front door.

The show’s name is Ginny & Georgia, so it clearly wasn’t going to keep the mother and daughter apart for long. Following the Season 1 finale cliffhanger, in which Ginny and her little brother skipped town after she discovered that their mom had poisoned their stepfather, the Season 2 trailer features Georgia and her kids back under the same roof in Wellsbury.
Ginny is trying to live with her mom’s deadly secret while acting normal, which is proving rather difficult, and tensions rise between the two.
“I’m not normal, I’m a damaged trailer park teen mom murderer,” Georgia exclaims at one point.
While Maxine still appears mad at Ginny for hiding her relationship with her twin brother from her, Ginny and Marcus’ romance is back on despite the “mistake” comment he made in the Season 1 finale.
“You make sense to me,” Marcus tells Ginny but also adds, a little ominously,...

Season 2 of the hit Netflix show “Ginny & Georgia” releases Jan. 5, the streamer said Thursday.
A teaser clip released with the announcement picks up right where the first season left off with Ginny (Antonia Gentry) running away from home with her younger brother Austin (Diesel La Torraca).
The short snippet from Tudum watches Ginny’s mother Georgia (Brianne Howey) come home joyous off of her boyfriend’s political victory to discover that her daughter has left, the only sign of life some smoldering embers in the fireplace.
Set to Chet Faker and Flume’s “Drop the Game,” Georgia goes from gleefully boasting to white-hot rage, kneeling down by the fire’s remains and angrily throwing a fire poker into the opposite corner of the leftover ashes before breaking into sobs.
“The puzzle piece that was missing suddenly slides into place, and I see it,” Ginny’s voice narrates. “I see her.

It's almost time to return to the wonderful -- but complicated -- world of Ginny & Georgia.
Netflix on Thursday announced the highly anticipated second season of the beloved dramedy will get underway on January 5, 2023.
All ten episodes will be available on that day, so the series will not be adopting the split season strategy some of the other Netflix shows have went with.
"How do you live with the knowledge that your mother is a murderer? That's what Ginny is going to have to figure out," Netflix tells us in the synopsis.
"Burdened with the new understanding that Kenny - her step-dad - didn't die of natural causes, now Ginny must deal with the fact that Georgia not only killed, she killed to protect Ginny."

Netflix has set January 5 for the Season 2 premiere of Ginny & Georgia, starring Brianne Howey and Antonia Gentry. The streamer also released some first-look photos of the upcoming season, which shed some light on what happens after the Season 1 finale cliffhanger that saw Ginny and her little brother on a motorcycle, leaving town after she discovers that her mom had poisoned her stepfather.
The photos (you can launch the gallery above), indicate that Ginny (Gentry) and her brother return home. The expectation was that they fled to Ginny’s father Zion in Boston, which still could be the case as a photo has Zion confronting his ex in the family kitchen. Ginny also is back with her friends at school and shares a moment with her on-again off-again love interest Marcus, while Georgia (Howey) is seen embracing her fiancé Paul.

It’s a little ironic that the fair-minded maiden in “Love in the Villa” yearns for an authentic, romantic Italian vacation since her fairy tale has been cobbled together by Netflix’s practically patented algorithm. Take one part down-on-her-luck female protagonist, add in a handsome-but-cantankerous gentleman either from or in an enchanting European setting, and mix with a generous splash of high jinks that force them to fall head over heels. Yet the blessed surprise awaiting even the most cynical of audiences of writer-director Mark Steven Johnson’s romantic comedy is that within the manufactured product lies a heartening appeal to its sensible delight.
Elementary school teacher Julie (Kat Graham), who is obsessed with “Romeo and Juliet,” has planned the trip of a lifetime with her boyfriend of four years, Brandon (Raymond Ablack). Their jaunt to Verona, Italy, includes everything from reservations at the finest restaurants to themed tours, all...

Ginny & Georgia has locked in a new series regular for Season 2, and he has a romantic connection to our titular mother.
Deadline has confirmed that Aaron Ashmore has landed the series regular role of Gil Timmins on the hit drama's second season.
Georgia was drawn in by Gil's intoxicating charm and good looks.
"Gil had been out of Georgia’s life after he was charged with embezzlement and sent to jail," Deadline's character description teases.
Even more interesting, Gil is Austin's father, so it sure sounds like he will be sticking around in town for the long haul.
Ginny & Georgia Season 1 introduced us to Ginny's father, Zion, who was played by Nathan Mitchell.
It's unclear whether Zion will be a part of the Season 2 storyline, but after the way the freshman season wrapped, we're inclined to believe there will be some big twists and turns.
