After program co-head exited amid sexual harassment accusations, co-director Fern Orenstein has exited the CBS Diversity Comedy Showcase as the program takes on new leadership for the 2018 season. Last month, CBS announced that “The Nightly Show” alum Grace Parra and “I’m Dying Up Here’s” Stephen Guarino were brought on to co-direct the annual program, which highlights a diverse group of comedy writers and actors before an audience of CBS executives, producers and casting directors. Orenstein stepped away from producing the program (though she remains in her role as a casting executive at CBS) in October, after director Rick Najera left amid.

Whenever Ricky Velez, Holly Walker and Mike Yard show up, it's almost always as a different character. It's one of better aspects of The Nightly Show, and now that newcomer Grace Parra has joined the gang, the writing staff can flex its comedic muscles even further. Which is great, since Parra debuted on Tuesday's episode as Liza Delgado, Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush's fictional campaign adviser and "Jeb Can Fix It" cheerleader.

An La-based political writer is out to prove Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert don't have a monopoly on mock news. Grace Parra is the host of Pretty Strong Opinions With Grace Parra, a satirical program that puts a spin on The Daily Show's signature format. Pretty Strong Opinions will look familiar to fans of Comedy Central's late-night tag team. Sure, there's no glitzy set, studio audience, or swooshing graphics, but Parra's unafraid, lucid takedown of political stupidity uses the same style that has made Stewart and Colbert (and, more recently, John Oliver) into household names. She even has her puns down pat; the first episode, which discusses the anti-immigration protests in Murrieta, California, is titled "Batten Down The Snatches". Parra's own beliefs are rooted at the center of Pretty Strong Opinions. "I find that in the realm of political comedy, female writer-performers, especially minority females...are sorely, sorely underrepresented,...

Grace Parra is not afraid to take to the streets to learn how to stay sexy. No, not like that. Parra was curious how women of a certain age keep that fire alive during Valentine's Day, and took to the street to interview all kinds of people to find out exactly how it works.
And did she ever. She talked to a pretty wide range of Los Angeles pedestrians, whose Valentine's Day plans ranged stealing flowers from the neighbor's garden to buying sexy flannel pajamas from Victoria's Secret.
You're going to want to keep your eye on Grace Parra -- she just sold her first comedy pilot to MTV with Jennifer Lopez attached as producer. You can say you knew her when she was barking like a seal on YouTube to demonstrate mating calls that you fellas will want to take note of.

Jennifer Lopez!
We told you awhile ago that Jennifer "Taco-Flavored Kisses" Lopez was planning a massive world takeover and so far it's been proven accurate, as Lopez begins judging talent show Q'Viva, continuing on Idol, making gazillions of dollars from that irritating car commercial that showcases her driving through "the block" and launching multiple sitcoms on network TV. Huzzah.
The project centers on Lina Molina, a recent Nyu grad who, thanks to a dire economy and grim job prospects, returns home to suburban Texas to her eccentric Mexican family. It's set to be penned by Grace Parra, who wrote Work It! Jennifer Lopez, guys!! /enthusiasm
The real question is: Will it be as good as Awkward? (No.)...
