Maybe the show should be called The Veteran from now on?
ABC has renewed its drama series The Rookie for a seventh season in 2024-25. The police procedural starring Nathan Fillion — which passed the 100-episode mark earlier this season — continues to draw decent-sized audiences for the network, even as it has outlived its title.
The Rookie is so named because at the show’s outset, Fillion’s John Nolan is the oldest rookie in the Los Angeles Police Department. Six seasons in, Nolan’s rookie status is long gone, but he “has used his life experience, determination and sense of humor to keep up with rookies 20 years his junior,” as ABC puts it in the season six logline. Mekia Cox, Alyssa Diaz, Richard T. Jones, Melissa O’Neil, Eric Winter, Jenna Dewan, Shawn Ashmore, Tru Valentino and Lisseth Chavez also star.

The Rookie will be back for another go-round. Ahead of the Season 6 finale, ABC has renewed the Nathan Fillion drama, produced by Lionsgate Television, for a seventh season.
The renewal comes amid strong ratings for Season 6. As gruesome and fun as the rest of The Following's killers are, season three is sorely lacking one Mr Joe Carroll...
This review contains spoilers.
3.3. Exposed
Three episodes into The Following, and we've yet to see Joe Carroll. Sure, he's been talked about, and the events behind last season's Lily/Joe shenanigans have been the subject of many discussions and a Congressional hearing, but they're taking their time introducing Joe back into the world. It's coming, and I believe he's behind all of what's happening thus far, but it remains to be seen just what role Joe is going to play and just how this is all going to end up with him escaping police custody to resume his killing spree. For now, let's concern ourselves with the killers we have, not the killer we're waiting on.
The foremost murderer we have at this point is Neil, the mammoth...

Airs Sundays at 9pm (Et) on NBC
Throughout their time on the run, ensuring that Bo does not over-exert herself when using her powers has been a major concern for Winter. With the knowledge of how the stress of several factors proved fatal for Nina Adams, as well as the knowledge that Skouras intends to push Bo’s limits, taking care of Bo has proven to be the primary concern for Winter and his group. This week’s episode sees the group try to figure out how to heal Bo as she falls sick, in a strong episode that continues the show’s focus on strengthening its characters.
Learning more about Channing is a great aspect of this week’s episode. While it’s been clear what function both Tate and Winter serve...
