The first official (and terrifying) picture of Jared Leto as The Joker has been revealed, and it's understandably set Twitter alight.
Suicide Squad director David Ayer shared the first official photo of Leto in the iconic role to mark the villain's 75th birthday.
He's been compared to Marilyn Manson, a teenage goth and even Tony Blair. Digital Spy rounds up some of the best Twitter reactions below:

Tokyo — Leaving San Francisco, singer Chris Hart has made himself at home in "J-pop."
His album of cover versions of Japanese pop tunes is rising on the charts. And the crooner is scoring on this nation's equivalent of "American Idol," being billed as a genius who understands the musical soul of Japan.
His success highlights a music industry that's still booming, and increasingly eager to internationalize. It's even ready to eclipse the U.S. music world, where CD sales have plunged with the arrival of digital technology.
Hart, 29, says he is living his dream. And he doesn't mind a bit that his fame has come so far from home.
"I am a part of the J-pop world now," he said in a recent interview, using the term for pop music in the world's third-biggest economy.
Hart has won over Japan by focusing on adaptations of local hits such as "Home,...

Exclusive: What I reported on Monday is now official. The memo just went out at ICM that motion picture talent agent Scott Schachter has exited. He's starting Monday at UTA, where his two best friends are already agents -- Chris Hart, who left ICM for UTA a year ago, and Mike Jelline, who left ICM for UTA five weeks ago. Schachter's and Jelline's defections follow ICM's recent decision to merge its TV and motion picture talent departments and "restructure leadership". Before that, the TV talent department was overseen by Jelline and the motion picture talent group was co-headed by Schachter who declined to sign another contract when three colleagues were promoted above him.

Exclusive: I've learned that ICM motion picture talent agent Scott Schachter declined to sign another contract with that agency and is leaving. He's expected to join UTA, where his two best friends are already agents -- Chris Hart, who left ICM for UTA a year ago, and Mike Jelline, who left ICM for UTA five weeks ago. Schachter's and Jelline's defections follow ICM's recent decision to merge its TV and motion picture talent departments. Exclusive: Paul Walker has signed with UTA, where he'll be repped by Jim Berkus, Theresa Peters and Chris Hart. Walker spent the last three years at CAA. The move comes as Universal prepares an April 29 release of Fast Five, the fifth installment of The Fast and the Furious series. Walker, who most recently starred in the Screen Gems heist film Takers, continues to be managed by Matt Luber of Luber Roklin Entertainment.

UTA has signed away more of ICM’s talent roster today: Diane Kruger, January Jones, Maggie Grace, Eddie Izzard, Amber Valletta, Adam Goldberg, Jack Huston, Bonnie Sommerville, Jake Abel, and Ashton Holmes met with various UTA agent teams this week, and I’m told all of the actors made their moves over the past 48 hours. All had been represented by Icm talent agent Chris Hart who last Friday made the move to UTA, where he's part of the teams. Last week, UTA signed actors Paul Giamatti and Alex O’Loughlin away from Icm.

CAA has lost Mark Ruffalo after he only arrived there in March. I hear he's parking himself at management company Brillstein Entertainment Partners. John Cusack has left Wme to go to CAA. (Update: A website no one in Hollywood reads reported this already. Not even the agencies saw it.) Icm has lost Paul Giamatti. No word on where he's heading. Alex O'Loughlin left Icm for UTA. (Chris Hart was on his team, and the agent just jumped from Icm to UTA.) And, while I'm at it, I hear Thruline Entertainment has lost Jessica Alba and Eva Longoria as management clients. This follows April's news that Bradley Cooper departed.

I hear that Chris Hart, whose contract was coming up at Icm and signaled he wanted to leave, is UTA-bound. Meanwhile, I've learned about an interesting tiff between UTA and Wme -- or, more specifically, Jim Berkus and Robert Newman. Napoleon Dynamite writer/director Jared Hess and his screenwriting partner/wife Jerusha Hess have discharged Wme’s Robert Newman after a 6-month stint and returned to their first agent, UTA chairman Jim Berkus. It seems Berkus originally signed the duo out of Sundance in 2004 when Napoleon Dynamite made its debut to become an indie phenom and cult hit. Berkus then helped to package their follow-up Nacho Libre [...]...
