Katie Holmes has joined the bangs brigade! Uh oh, it looks like Amanda Bynes is having a Britney Spears-style meltdown: She's shaved her head... again.
Well, sort of. After receiving her fair share of criticism in the press for "ratty-looking extensions," the actress took to Twitter to reveal a new look. "I buzzed half my head like @cassie! No more old photos! This is the new me! I love it!" she tweeted along with a photo.
From what we can tell, Amanda now has an undercut hairstyle (but there's something very Miley about it, no?). Strangely enough, this isn't the former Nickelodeon star's first time at the shaving head rodeo -- apparently, she buzzed off her tresses after they were damaged in a salon.
"I had to shave my head because of hair damage from someone @ John Barrett so I'm not loving my paparazzi pics for a few years! I have extensions but you can see them!

These days, Amanda Bynes is known for rumored meltdowns at gymnastics class in lingerie, shaving her head Britney Spears-style and going on Twitter rants peppered with colorful language.
But back in the '90s, she was famous for her hilarious sketches on Nickelodeon's "All That," specifically her "Ask Ashley" series.
In the sketches, she would sweetly read letters begging for advice before exploding into an angry tirade. Perhaps, Bynes' behavior on "Ask Ashley" a premonition of sorts.
Check out the video above and decide for yourself.

Amanda Bynes just pulled a Britney Spears! As her behavior becomes more and more erratic, Amanda has shaved her head after damage was caused by her extensions.
The upside to Amanda Bynes shaving her head is that she will no longer need to steal hairspray or flee hair salons without paying! Amanda, who is already rocking a double cheek piercing, revealed on Twitter that she had to shave her head because of “hair damage,” before threatening to sue a bunch of people. Oh, Amanda…

In case she wasn't getting enough comparisons to Britney Spears circa 2007, Amanda Bynes just revealed that she shaved her head! Her current long blonde mane is made up of extensions (and she occasionally dons wigs that fail to fool photographers).
"I had to shave my head because of hair damage from someone @ John Barrett so I'm not loving my paparazzi pics for a few years! I have extensions but you can see them!" she tweeted in a rant to EOnline on Thursday, April 11.
Then, as they tend to with Bynes, things got weird. "Loving your shows but suing you for spreading lies about me on your website! Thanks for being my fan! True friends don't spread lies about me so I can't follow anyone from your network on twitter. I'll sue you everytime you post a lie with a paparazzi shot, I tell you everything that is going on about me on twitter.

We're currently giving ourselves a collective pat on the back at the E! offices. Why? Because somehow, we've (sorta) wound up on Amanda Bynes' good side. The tragic tale of what appears to be Amanda Bynes' very public breakdown continues, as the actress was spotted on Monday smoking what may have possibly been a marijuana cigarette.
Photographers snapped photos of the 27-year-old, who appeared particularly disheveled on a stroll through Times Square, while wearing a gray hoodie under a black puffy coat, black leggings and Ugg boots, and carrying an oversize Louis Vuitton bag. Bynes was also sporting hair extensions and it appears as though she might have received a chemical haircut, as she tweeted that a hairstylist "fried" her hair, and posted a photo of what her hair used to look like.

Eye of the Storm, a novel by first time author C.K. Gray, is getting the Hollywood treatment. How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days producer Christine Peters, and Paul Johannson, are bringing it to the big screen.
The story centers on a successful businesswoman who is inexplicably drawn to a doctor, unwittingly mirroring a doomed romance from a century ago. Here’s a complete synopsis of the novel:
“Seventeen-year-old Eliza Anceaux finds her soul mate in handsome John Barrett. But just as fate brings them together, it tears them apart when they both lose their lives in a tragic boating accident. Can their love survive even after death? Is the answer found over a hundred years later?
When successful businesswoman Carolina Anderson meets Dr. Michael Sanford, they find themselves inexplicably drawn to one another and unwittingly mirroring Eliza and John’s doomed romance. From the perfume Carolina wears...

Ted
Directed by Seth MacFarlane
Written by Seth MacFarlane, Alex Sulkin, and Wellesley Wild
USA, 2012
At one point in Seth MacFarlane’s live-action comedy Ted, Norah Jones turns up, playing herself. The film gets a few solid laughs by suggesting that the pop singer and the title character, a sentient teddy bear, had a torrid sexual affair. But then a pair of jokes about Jones’ half-Indian racial heritage are thrown in that seem mean-spirited at best; if Jones herself were not in on the joke it would be downright racist. That’s Ted in a nutshell: every joke aims to offend and not all of them hit, but a decent amount of solid laughs are delivered.
As explained via a prologue narrated by the incomparable Patrick Stewart, eight-year-old John Barrett (played as an adult by Mark Wahlberg) wishes for his stuffed bear Teddy to come alive, so that he could have a best friend.

Nina's gorgeous fishtail braid at the Elton John Oscar party looked so fancy and complex, so imagine our surprise to find that it was done for just $25 -- find out how! Nina Dobrev visited Nine Zero One salon in West Hollywood, a favorite of celebs like Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato, for an appointment at their Braid Bar. Each appointment lasts 15 minutes and costs just $25. Rumer Willis and Jamie Lynn Sigler are also fans of the service. Not in West Hollywood? Not a problem! The John Barrett salon in NYC recently opened a braid bar as well, but even if you can't find a salon near you with the specific service, simply ask for what you want. Tell your stylist that you would just like to come in for a quick braid and he or she should be able to set up an appointment for just that -- a braid!

If you claim to like rock ’n’ roll, it’s a tall order not to respond viscerally to the opening moments of “Nerve Jamming,” the first track on Bass Drum Of Death’s debut, Gb City. The nerve-rattling primordial beat, the gracelessly slashing guitar, John Barrett’s insistent yowl, the surf-rock backing vocals—Bass Drum Of Death knows what garage-punk buttons to press, and the Mississippi duo isn’t shy about slamming them down repeatedly throughout Gb City. Inevitably, these proven but well-worn tricks start to lose their effectiveness over the course of the album, with Bass Drum Of Death ...

Celebrity Hairstyles! Jennifer Aniston New Haircut: Actress trades The Rachel hot look for low-maintenance blah do? [Feb. 23] Jennifer Aniston is sporting a new haircut. Aniston appeared on the TV show El Hormiguero Feb. 22, 2011 in Madrid for her new movie, Just Go With It, with the new cut. It's a far cry from the tossed and feathered haircut famously known as "the Rachel" from her role on the hit television series Friends. The new haircut makes Aniston look more like a school teacher than a model or an actress. Dare I say the new haircut looks almost ... ratty? Jennifer Aniston is nevertheless a hot number. It's just that the new haircut seems to take away from the allure she had on Friends. At least that shorter haircut (compared to her longer hairstyle before Friends) maintained a sexy, feathered quality to it that kept fans gawking at her beauty. Maybe Aniston is feeling...

It's very rare that I want a show to come back from hiatus as much as Burn Notice. A case can be made that the fourth season is its best to date. Thankfully, the wait is over.
I don't think it shocks anyone that Michael is alive after being shot at the end of "Guilty As Charged." "Eyes Open" takes place a mere three days later, as all of John Barrett's misdeeds are being exposed, and he's recovering from his injuries in the hospital. There's a great callback to the Burn Notice pilot when Fiona kicks him in an attempt to get him to come around, just as she did to wake him up when he was first dumped in Miami.
Once Michael is up and moving, he wants to pick up where he left off, much to Madeline's annoyance. The hospital is the last place he'd like to be.

Are you as excited about the November 11 return of Burn Notice as I am? Well, there are some new promotional and behind the scenes photos to tide you over.
Spoiler & Speculation Alert.
The return episode, “Eyes Open,” wisely continues from where the midseason finale “Guilty as Charged” left off. Here’s the official synopsis released by USA:
When a vengeful lawyer hires a paranoid bombmaker to kill off members of a local gang, Michael (Jeffrey Donovan) is forced to intervene before innocent lives are lost in the mayhem. Meanwhile, Michael and Jesse (Coby Bell) must work together to track down a stolen document containing highly classified government secrets. Guest starring Daniel Pino and Robert Wisdom.
From that synopsis, we know that we haven’t seen the last of defense attorney Scott (Pino), whom many fans thought would be back. Sounds like he’s out to make some people pay for...

While Lindsay Lohan ’s courtoom attire has been scrutinized in the past for being inappropriate -- think overly stylish and revealing -- the ensemble she wore this morning to court in L.A. is receiving a thumbs up from those in the know. Lindsay—who will avoid jail for now, and stay in rehab at Betty Ford until January--wore a black blazer, white V-neck top, denim jeans, heels and a Chanel handbag, all of which trial consultant Sarah Murray says conveyed the right message. “She’s dressed in a way that is stylish to her audience, but it’s very careful and respectful at the same time,” says Murray, who works at San Francisco-based Trial Behavior Consulting. Murray adds, “She chose subdued colors, which is always good in front of a judge, and her outfit suggests she is not depressed because she looks well put together." And even Lohan’s...

Can you believe we’re to the midseason finale of White Collar already? This point in the season last year, Neal was framed and jumping out of windows onto bakery awnings, which begs the question: what will he do this time? Aside from pointing a gun in the face of Garrett Fowler, that is.

Jesse Porter is pissed. John Barrett is not a very nice guy and he’s brought an army. Vaughn is probably a little cranky too. All of these guys are looking for Michael Westen, and not to give him a hug. What a way to cap the first half of a great fourth season of Burn Notice!

On the Thursday, Aug. 26 episode titled "Guilty As Charged," the scary John Barrett (Robert Patrick) is back and still Michael (Jeffrey Donovan) isn't scared.
Look Michael, just because you're the hero doesn't mean you won't occasionally slip up, get hurt or get someone else hurt. Let's see how you get out of this one or else you'll end up a "nasty red stain" on Barrett's "nice green lawn."
Also in this episode, Fiona (Gabrielle Anwar) attempts to track down Jesse (Coby Bell) so he can rendezvous with Michael, who's also helping a criminal defense attorney whose daughter has been kidnapped by one his clients.

As season four opened, Michael Westen (Jeffrey Donovan) had made ‘friends’ in the loosest sense of the word with a man named Vaughn (played by Supernatural‘s Robert Wisdom). Much like Management before him, Vaughn wanted Michael’s help, this time in investigating people who were helping to fund wars, crimes, and other illicit dealings in foreign countries. We haven’t yet gotten details on the exact scope of their crimes, but we were assured that they were very bad people. Of course, because this is Burn Notice,...

Last night’s Burn Notice was so good, I watched it twice. Both on the East Coast and West Coast feeds. It’s still on my DVR and in the back of my head. I wrote a lengthy recap that I thought covered all my bases…but I was wrong. The more that I thought about it, the more I realized it was still worth talking about – as is the season, which might be the best yet.
Allow me to explain: I am a devoted Burn Notice fan, and I have been from the pilot. I’ve seen every episode, usually multiple times. Yet something happened around the third season. It’s not that the show declined in quality, but other things came around and I found myself watching more on DVR, and I’m one of those traditionalists who believes in making time to watch all my favorite shows live.

A quick review of last night's "Burn Notice" coming up just as soon as I score 1420 points at canasta... As the lead-in to the summer finale(*), "Blind Spot" had a bit of an obligatory feel to it. It brought John Barrett (played by the impeccably-cast Robert Patrick) and his private army to Miami, and it finally clued Jesse in to Michael's responsibility for burning him. But we knew both developments were coming, and the latter was one that always kinda rankled me. I knew all season for a moment like the one between Jesse and Fi in the climax, it...

I have to admit, the idea of this episode could not be more perfect to me. I love Burn Notice, I love Jeffrey Donovan, I freely admit to a crush on Coby Bell, and I’ve been a fan of Robert Patrick since I was a kid. All three of those people on this show? Well, that’s just heavenly.
As we know from last week, Patrick plays John Barrett, the CEO of a Big Technology Company who is out to get his hands on Simon Escher’s Bible and use it to bring down Vaughn and his people. At this point, it really is the lesser of two evils for Team Burn Notice. Sam, Fiona and Michael are having a poolside meeting to discuss a fake Naval Intelligence file that they plan on passing off to Jesse implicating Barrett. Jesse proceeds to kick himself for not connecting the dots,...

(S04E11) In the penultimate episode of the summer season, you probably anticipated that 'Burn Notice' would be coming to a big climax. It seemed to me after last week that the cliffhanger would be all about Robert Patrick's character, John Barrett, and his part in the larger Simon/Vaughn/Management story line. However, that wasn't the build up. If you were picking up on the signals Madeline was sending out, though, you guessed that it was all about Jesse.

Michael Westen, you're a brave, brave man.
On Thursday's (Aug. 19) "Burn Notice" episode, "Guilty As Charged," Michael (Jeffrey Donovan) and Jesse Porter (Coby Bell) decide to take on John Barrett, the CEO of Drake Technologies who's played by guest star Robert Patrick.
Um, Michael. You do not want to poke the Terminator.
Okay, we're aware that Patrick is not going to go all liquid-metally as a T-1000 (but wouldn't that be cool?), but he's still pretty frightening as Merchant of Death John Barrett.

There are a lot of things I’ve learned from watching Burn Notice: how to make explosives, how to escape a parking garage, how to spyproof my office…and that Garret Dillahunt may be the best actor to play bad on television today. He’s done it on Deadwood, The 4400, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles and most recently this show, so I’d been hoping he’d come back as the villainous Simon Escher all season long. Add him to a regular cast without a weak link, and how could this episode not succeed?
As we know, Michael is preparing for his face-to-face with Simon, arranged by Vaughn last week. He can’t possibly prepare enough for dealing with that psychopath. At least Vaughn arranged it at a pretty swanky place (and brought security). Michael goes to meet Simon, who appears to be auditioning for the role of Jesus with his new look.

hollywoodnews.com: This evening, during one of the year’s most watched live television events, a star-studded panel of judges chose Miss Michigan USA, Rima Fakih, as Miss USA® 2010. Internationally-renowned chef and current “Celebrity Apprentice” contestant Curtis Stone and “Today” show co-host and correspondent Natalie Morales hosted the 59th Annual Miss USA Pageant from Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in one of the world’s most electrifying cities, Las Vegas. The comedic mother-daughter duo Joan and Melissa Rivers were on hand providing backstage color commentary.
Ms. Fakih, 24, is from Dearborn, Michigan where she was raised with her younger brother. She is a graduate of the University of Michigan, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics, with a minor in Business Administration. After completing her reign as Miss USA, she plans to attend law school. She enjoys traveling, running, dancing, kickboxing and especially likes playing football and watching the NFL.

I recently returned from a trip to São Paulo where I was a member of the Idea/Brazil Award jury. Arriving I expected to find a chaotic, dangerous and gray metropolis. Instead, I was more than surprised to find a colorful, dynamic and vibrant city. These same qualities are uniquely evident in Brazilian design.
For those of you who may not know, Idea/Brazil is the Brazilian version of the Idea Awards. Now in its third year, Idea/Brazil is promoted by the design organization Objeto Brasil and led by Joice Joppert Leal, who according to my friend, Helen Walters of BusinessWeek, is "a force of nature." After a week with Joice, I couldn't agree more! In a partnership between Objeto Brasil and Idsa, the winners of the Idea/Brazil are entered automatically into the Idea awards judged here in the United States.
In 2008, Brazil made history with 12 award wins in the U.

Has your hair become as frizzy, flyaway and staticy as mine right now?
Hey BFFs: I have a simple solution for winter hair, that I’ve tried and Is working, and can work for you too. Here’s the deal: I asked NYC celebrity stylist John Barrett of the John Barrett Salon, whose clients include Julia Roberts, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Vanessa Redgrave, how to save my yucky dried-out winter hair. He explained The Big Culprit is Overwashing! Apparently, we shouldn’t be washing our hair every day…
His Tip: only wash your hair two or three times a week. Instead — just rinse your hair with water and then use a little conditioner, so your hair feels clean and smells good. Then he recommends using a hair mask once a week, which will help hair cuticles re-bond. Now, I’ve been a daily hair wash addict for years, and I was...

Many film outlets, including this one, tend to honor the underrated gems that go unnoticed by the general public and laud said movies as terrificly spectacular. Seldom do you see sites take a gander at the pictures that are horrid beyond belief or give kids in third world countries every ailment imaginable. This is where I’m coming in, to spew hate all over those films that try to defame goodwill movies like The Hurt Locker or Vertigo have paved.
So today, we’ll take a look a film I hate more than any other movie on the planet. It might not be the worst picture that’s ever been made, but this is a film that makes me forget the director has done much better work in the past. In fact, it’s a movie I’ve banned from existence and hope the studio does the right thing in...
