One of my all-time favorite movie scenes is when John Candy walks through the house party in Uncle Buck while Young Mc's "Bust a Move" is blasting out of the speakers, so it was an absolute thrill for me to catch up with Young Mc himself, Marvin Young, to discuss his directorial debut Justice Served, a new "what if?" horror thriller that co-stars Lance Henriksen and is out now on DVD and VOD from Breaking Glass Pictures.
Thanks for taking the time to answer some questions for us, Marvin, and congratulations on your new film, Justice Served. How and when did you come up with the idea for the movie?
Marvin Young: It's my pleasure to talk to you. I came up with the concept for Justice Served from watching literally hundreds of movies in preview screenings with critics and live audiences. I got the chance to see...

Prison Break is back with the episode, "Contingency". Will we find out who Poseidon is? What will happen now that Abu Ramal is dead? How will Sara react to her husband seemingly being a part of Poseidon? Read on to find out the takeaways from this week's episode.

Michael had to deny Linc -- This is one that most figured, but it was revealed that Michael had to deny Linc when he and C-Note originally came to Ogygia, because he could not let anyone inside the prison know that he was affiliated with them. Not a huge surprise, but it provided some clarity.
Michael was forced to join Poseidon -- I had stated earlier in the season that I thought Michael faked his death in order to let everyone else go free. It turns out that before he married Sara, Poseidon approached him letting him know...

There are a great number of talented people working in the world of independent filmmaking today, and writer / director Gary King is one of them. I had the pleasure of reviewing his last film How Do You Write A Joe Schermann Song and subsequently speaking with both him and star / producer Christina Rose. King's new film Unnerved has been made on a very low budget with a crew of only five people. He has reteamed with actor Mark Diconzo (whose performance in Joe Schermann Song impressed me greatly), and the rest of the small cast includes newcomer Katie Morrison and Elena Sanz (Radio London Movie). Consumed by grief after the bizarre death of their young son, Mallory and Frank find their marriage on the verge...

So you've just killed someone and you're feeling all alone in this world. Hey, it happens, right? If you're lucky, you'll be able to call someone to help you out of this horrid situation. That's what friends are for... it's just too bad the road to hell is paved with good intentions.
Below you'll find the first details on director Paul Osbourne's new flick Favor starring Jeffrey Combs, Blayne Weaver, Christina Rose, and Patrick Day. The film will be having its premiere at Phoenix Film Festival on April 5th. Dig on the goods thus far.

How Do You Write A Joe Schermann Song is one of the most delightful films I have seen this year, and the film has just won the Top Prize at the Raindance Film Festival in London where over 6,000 films were submitted. I had the pleasure of chatting with the film's producer and lead actress Christina Rose about performing and filmmaking. Twitch: Can you tell us a bit about yourself? Christina Rose: I was born in Naples, Italy; coincidentally the same town Sophia Loren was born. And since I've always admired her for breaking so many boundaries I think that is pretty neat. I have a very supportive family; who have been unconditionally encouraging me since I performed in the Nutcracker Ballet at the Fox...

Here at the Film Stage, we like to profile up and coming independent filmmakers to broaden the horizon of compelling and diverse cinematic content. One such independent filmmaker is Gary King whose consistent engagement with his audience allowed him to Kickstart his latest film How Do You Write A Joe Schermann Song. A seeming love letter to the musicals that influenced and informed his cinematic taste, Schermann Song looks to deliver a unique perspective on the beloved genre. The film stars actress Christina Rose, with whom King worked previously on Death of the Dead, and real life musician/song writer Joe Schermann. Here’s the synopsis from the official website:
Joe (Joe Schermann) dreams of hitting it big on Broadway. After landing an opportunity to write for an Off-Broadway musical, he is forced to cast either the love of his life Evey (Christina Rose) or his newly discovered muse Summer...

Review by Michael Pickle, MoreHorror.com
One of my favorite things about writing for More Horror is the fact that I get to watch some films that I would have never normally had access to otherwise. This is almost always a good thing. Not true for this week's review of Death of the Dead.
I have never felt the need to fast forward through a movie that I was reviewing until now. Had it not been for the beautiful and talented lead, Christina Rose, I might not have resisted the urge.
I gave the film the benefit of the doubt and waited patiently until the last seconds holding out hope for something entertaining. All I got was bad jokes, bad acting, horrible zombies and even worse writing.
I have a fondness for spoofs like Airplane and Scary Movie and I love hilariously stupid films like the Troma films, but to...

Over the last few years I’ve befriended many filmmaker friends via social networks and have had the privilege of interacting with some truly passionate movie makers who do their best to utilize new and emerging tools to help finance and market their films.
One of them stands apart from the pack and that is Gary King, who caught my eye with his previous film What’s Up Lovely, an examination of loneliness and isolation in NYC. That film is available for download via Cinefist and I highly recommend you check it out to see what kind of interesting and different films the real independent movement is capable of.
Hot off the heels of the success of his previous films, Gary decided to go a unique route to finance his next dream project, a mysterious musical entitled How to Write a Joe Scherman Song starring the very talented Christina Rose...

Trailers are an under-appreciated art form insofar that many times they’re seen as vehicles for showing footage, explaining films away, or showing their hand about what moviegoers can expect. Foreign, domestic, independent, big budget: I celebrate all levels of trailers and hopefully this column will satisfactorily give you a baseline of what beta wave I’m operating on, because what better way to hone your skills as a thoughtful moviegoer than by deconstructing these little pieces of advertising? Some of the best authors will tell you that writing a short story is a lot harder than writing a long one, that you have to weigh every sentence. What better medium to see how this theory plays itself out beyond that than with movie trailers? White Irish Drinkers Trailer It’s not often that I get a slam dunk delivered into my inbox but it happens from time to time...
