An uncanny understanding of character dynamics and superior cast chemistry have made Stranger Things the defining science fiction drama of the last decade. Although fans love the special effects and evil enemies omnipresent in the series, showrunners the Duffer brothers have always grounded the story in character development. Mike’s (Finn Wolfhard) and Will’s (Noah Schnapp) potential romance, Eleven’s (Millie Bobby Brown) backstory as a lab rat, and Hopper’s quest for fatherhood have all amalgamated into an irresistible mix of plotting that feels novelistic and addicting for viewers.

Linda Hamilton has been one of the trailblazers who changed the industry’s stereotypical portrayal of women in film. Actresses like Sigourney Weaver and Hamilton showed that women can be total badasses and can hold themselves against danger. Hamilton’s role as Sarah Connor in The Terminator series has been the most popular role of her career.
Linda Hamilton as Sarah Connor in Terminator 2: Judgment Day
However, that tough and incredible role became a detriment to her career as she got typecast in similar roles and was not getting diverse projects. The actress recently revealed that she was tired of being tough on camera, and landing a meaningful part in Stranger Things prevented her from taking a retirement from acting.

After being delayed several months by the writers strike and the actors strike, season 5 of the hit Netflix series Stranger Things finally went into production at the start of the year and is now three months into its twelve month shooting schedule… but in the midst of filming, Finn Wolfhard is also doing the press rounds to promote the Ghostbusters: Afterlife sequel Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, which is set to reach theatres on March 22nd. An interview with The Hollywood Reporter was part of his press tour, and during that conversation, Wolfhard was asked about the ongoing production of Stranger Things season 5, which will also be the final season of the show. The supernatural series has a fantastic ensemble cast consisting of Millie Bobby Brown, Noah Schnapp, Winona Ryder, Finn Wolfhard, Sadie Sink, Caleb McLaughlin, Gaten Matarazzo, David Harbour, Joe Keery, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Maya Hawke and Jamie Campbell Bower.
With every new season, the series keeps getting complicated and scarier. So far, we have witnessed the deaths of several fan favourites. Some of the characters killed on the show are Joseph Quinn’s Eddie, Sean Astin’s Bob, Dacre Montgomery’s Billy and Shannon Purser’s Barbara. However, actor Gaten Matarazzo, who plays Dustin Henderson, believes that the series should have more deaths.

“Stranger Things” is heading into its fifth and final season, which likely won’t premiere on Netflix until sometime in 2025. Cast member Gaten Matarazzo recently appeared at MegaCon Orlando (via Cbr) and was asked if there were any changes he would make to the show’s first four seasons, to which the actor didn’t hesitate to say that more characters should’ve been killed off. Heading into the show’s final season, original cast members like Matarazzo, Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Caleb McLaughlin, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton and Noah Schnapp are all returning.
“It might sound messed up but we should kill more people,” Matarazzo said. “This show would be so much better if the stakes were much higher, like at any moment any of these kids can kick it. I feel like we’re all too safe.”

News has been slowly coming out about the next season of Stranger Things, which has now entered into production this week after a very long wait with the show impacted greatly by the strikes. In a new interview with the YouTube channel Steve Varley, actor Eduardo Franco has said he’s not currently involved in the fifth season likely ruling out the return of Argyle.
As a quick refresher, Argyle was introduced in season 4 following the Byers’ move to California and serves as Jonathan’s best friend throughout the series. The character is best known for his long hair and his job as a pizza delivery boy for Surfer Boy Pizza. He was an excellent and comedic addition to last season and quickly became a fan favorite.
The actor was interviewed for his recent role on Self-Reliance, which has been streaming on Hulu since January 3rd.

“Stranger Things” creators Matt and Ross Duffer are shutting down at least one fan theory about the upcoming ending to their blockbuster Netflix series. On the red carpet for the new “Stranger Things” play in London, the duo went on record to Metro saying the series will not end with a reveal that all the events in the Upside Down were just a dream.
One fan theory about the “Stranger Things” ending alleges all the events on screen during the show’s run were actually just the main characters playing an elaborate and very long game of Dungeons and Dragons, a favorite among the characters since the show’s first season.
“No,” Matt said bluntly when the fan theory was brought up.
“That would be the equivalent of, ‘That’s all a dream,'” Ross added. “No, I assure you that is not how we’re going to end the show.

“Stranger Things” is finally going back to Hawkins.
Production on the fifth and final season of the juggernaut Netflix series is currently set to begin in early January, according to multiple sources, though the start date is still subject to change. Filming was postponed for over seven months due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes.
Creators and executive producers Matt Duffer and Ross Duffer were among the most high profile showrunners to announce they were suspending work after the writers strike began in May, posting on social media that “Writing does not stop when filming begins.” When the Duffer brothers spoke to Variety in July about series costar Noah Schnapp (who was part of the Power of Young Hollywood issue), they elaborated on that sentiment.

Last week, Stranger Things cast member David Harbour said he expected to start filming season 5 of the hit Netflix series – which will also be the final season of the show – in “a couple days”. But first he had to make an appearance at Motor City Comic Con, and during the show he confirmed that season 5 has “a very real ending” that wraps up the story.
Harbour said (with thanks to Deadline for sharing his comment), “The beauty of it is, there’s a real ending. The fifth and final season of the hit Netflix series Stranger Things was supposed to go into production right around the time the writers strike hit earlier this year – so it had to be put on hold, and then there was another reason for it to stay on hold when the actors strike hit. When the writers strike ended in September, finishing the Stranger Things season 5 scripts was one of Netflix’s top priorities. And now that the actors strike has come to an end, Stranger Things season 5 is finally about to head into production. In fact, cast member David Harbour says it’s going to start filming in just a couple days!
Variety caught to Harbour at a BoxLunch Gala honoring Feeding America. When asked what comes first on his post-strike agenda, he said, “I mean, we got to film that last season of Stranger Things, don’t we?...

Season 5 of the hit Netflix series Stranger Things is also going to be the final season of the show. It was supposed to be deep into production by now, but it has been slowed down due to the Hollywood strikes – first the writers strike, then the ongoing actors strike. It remains to be seen when filming is going to begin, but yesterday, November 6, 2023, was the 40th anniversary of the day Will Byers went missing in the town of Hawkins, Indiana in the first season of Stranger Things. So the show’s writers marked the occasion by sharing the first lines from the first episode of season 5 on social media:

“Stranger Things” will haunt viewers long after it has ended. Even the idea of it ending is tragically terrifying. Built on a sinister kidnapping of a young Will Byers (Noah Schnapp) in Season 1 and most recently filled out in terms of The Upside Down mythology in Season 4, complete with a slimy squelchy villain named Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower), the Netflix series has no shortage of jump scares, creepy concepts and more.
Whether you’re a fan of graphic gory scenes or more psychologically thrilling moments, “Stranger Things” has four seasons’ worth of fright. Season 4 has been said to be the most scary, and the Duffer Brothers even listed “Nightmare on Elm Street” and “Hellraiser” as inspirations for the most recent season in contrast to the slightly more innocent “E.T.,” “Goonies” etc. for the earlier seasons, in which the kids were still actually kids.

The NBCUniversal-owned streamer has picked up the series, a comedic thriller from UCP and starring Kaley Cuoco (who also executive produces) and Chris Messina. For nearly five months, from May 2nd to September 27th, the Writers Guild of America was on strike, causing a lot of movies and TV shows to shut down production. Then a lot of the projects that had been able to continue filming had to shut down when the Screen Actors Guild also went on strike as of July 14th. Since it premiered in 2019, "Sex Education" has solidified itself as one of the sweetest and purest shows on TV, despite its focus on a slate of sex-obsessed teenagers. This marvelous feat and the show's overall success has many fans wondering why it was canceled after four seasons.
