Famous Canadian journalist Nardwuar finally interviewed Nickelback bandmates Chad Kroeger and Ryan Peake for the first time in an hour-long conversation at Neptoon Records in Vancouver last week.
Band members Kroeger and Peake explored various topics in their sweeping interview with the eccentric media personality, including a story about how their former drummer, Kroeger’s cousin Brandon, quit the band in 1996.
In the extensive interview, Nardwuar, in typical well-researched fashion, reminds Kroeger and Peake of the 1996 show date in which Nickelback and industrial rock band Stabbing Westward performed together at Vancouver’s Starfish Room.

Kroeger recalled how his cousin saw Stabbing Westward’s “brand-new, huge tour bus,” immediately causing Brandon to quit band life.
“They were on tour opening up for Kiss, and they came to town on this brand-new, huge tour bus… And we had never been on a tour bus before.

To mark the 20th anniversary of Kevin Smith's celebrated black comedy Clerks, its grungy, punky soundtrack will be released for the first time ever on vinyl. The original soundtrack's mix of dialogue from the movie ("I'm not even supposed to be here today!") and tunes by some of the leading groups of the alternative era will now play out across three sides of two LPs — the final side will contain an etching— and will be available on November 11th.
The soundtrack features songs by Alice in Chains, Girls Against Boys,...

Synopsis: You tie your shoes, put on your headphones, take your first steps outside. You’ve barely covered 100 yards when you hear them. They must be close. You can hear every guttural breath, every rattling groan – they’re everywhere. Zombies. There’s only one thing you can do: Run!
You’re Runner 5. Hundreds of lives are counting on you. You’ve got to help your base rebuild from the ruins of civilization by collecting critical supplies while avoiding roving zombie hordes. Can you save them and learn the truth about the zombie apocalypse?
Let’s face it: as a general rule exercise isn’t fun. It’s painful and exhausting, and usually when you find yourself in exercise’s dominatrix-like embrace, you want to die. Okay, I admit that’s an exaggeration, but you Do have...

It’s competition time again on Glee and nobody’s happy: Kurt is beginning to resent Blaine’s monopolization of the Garglers’ solos while Rachel and Quinn bicker over Finn... again. Santana’s gay panic continues, taking her frustrations out on Brittany and Sam as Sue plots the downfall of Nude Erections... again. The glee members audition original music for each other so Will can make a wrong decision... again. Can the club pull a set list together in time to ensure an entirely predictable outcome... again?
Pro: Kurt’s “I’m so over this” face.
Con: The whole scene where the Garglers bicker with each other pompously over inanity. I mean, it was supposed to be comical, but came off like crowd scenes on South Park where everyone in town gets incensed and goes, “rabblerabblerabble!!!” only less amusing.
Pro: This is broken up by Kurt singing another sad Beatles...

Normally, Wake-Up Video celebrates significant moments in music history. But today is a little light on events. Sure, it's the anniversary of the release of Madonna's landmark 1998 album Ray of Light, but that was celebrated in this space exactly one year ago. Today also happens to be the 25th anniversary of the release of Metallica's Master of Puppets, but there will be a more significant salute to that legendary release later today. So rather than try to write something significant about the first indoor ice hockey game (which happened on this day in 1875), let's talk about Stabbing Westward.
Stabbing Westward exist as proof positive that having a silly name didn't have to get in the way of radio success in the 1990s. The Chicago-based industrial band first formed in 1985 but didn't release their first album Ungod (a workmanlike grinder that owed a lot to Ministry) until 1994. But it was 1996's...
