You can imagine the committee meetings devoted to finding just the right title for primo action star Gerard Butler’s latest, in which he plays an airline pilot encountering lightning strikes that force him to crash-land on a rebel-infested remote island in the Philippines. As it criss-crosses the airline disaster genre and frightening jungle thriller, why not just tell the public what it really is. While it could be called Terror Island, or maybe Pirates Jungle, or Flight to the Death, the producers came up with the inspired plain Plane. That works well enough for anyone expecting Airport meets The High and the Mighty, but really it is just the first half that fits snugly into that category, nail-biting as it is.

Paul Lindsay was a former FBI agent and Vietnam veteran who sought to utilize his investigative and military expertise in creating a series of espionage novels, published under the pseudonym Noah Boyd. Unfortunately, that effort only got as far as a second volume before Lindsay died of leukemia in 2011. The first one has been in feature development since that year, initially as a vehicle for Gerard Butler. It’s Aaron Eckhart instead who assumes the mantle of Jack Reacher-like hero Steve Vail in “The Bricklayer,” a screen translation that appears to take considerable liberties with the source material, likely to take advantage of locations and resources afforded by its multinational funding.
The result, largely set in Greece, is an entertaining thriller that constitutes one of globe-trotting director Renny Harlin’s better recent joints, alongside Chinese productions “Bodies at Rest” and “Skiptrace.” Handled in his best slick, colorful, fast-paced fashion, it...

Near the end of August, it was announced that the long-awaited Red Sonja reboot was filming with M.J. Bassett (Solomon Kane) directing and Matilda Lutz (Revenge) taking on the lead role. In early September, we heard that Oliver Trevena (The Rising Hawk) had joined Lutz in the cast – and Trevena’s character was the only one, other than Red Sonja herself, we ever got a description of. The actor had been cast as Tr’aal, “a gladiator-type warrior who joins Sonja in her fight against an evil emperor”. Unfortunately Deadline reports that Trevena has since had to drop out of Red Sonja due to scheduling issues. Two months ago, the Red Sonja reboot finally made it into production after spending nearly fifteen years in development hell. After passing through the hands of directors Robert Rodriguez, Simon West, Bryan Singer, and Joey Soloway, Red Sonja has ended up being brought back to the screen by M.J. Bassett (Solomon Kane). And while Hannah John-Kamen, Rose McGowan, and Amber Heard were considered for the lead role at different points, the star of Bassett’s Red Sonja is Matilda Lutz (Revenge). As filming on Red Sonja continues, a first look image has arrived to give us a preview of how Lutz looks as the title character – and you can check it out at the bottom of this article!

A couple weeks ago, we learned that a new take on Red Sonja had gone into production – after spending decades in development hell – with Matilda Lutz (Revenge) in the title role. Deadline reports that Lutz is joined in the cast by Oliver Trevena, who has experience wielding a sword thanks to his role in the 2019 film The Rising Hawk. Trevena is taking on the role of Tr’aal, “a gladiator-type warrior who joins Sonja in her fight against an evil emperor”.

Vanessa Hudgens called — she says “howdy” from a mint green public bathroom.
The High School Musical actress, 33, hosted the MTV Movie & TV Awards 2022 earlier this year.
In a bit for the awards, Vanessa “enrolled at Euphoria High,” where she dressed up in a country-inspired outfit to recreate a girl’s bathroom scene from the HBO Max show.
On Wednesday, she shared a throwback snap of her outfit that was accessorized with a tan cowboy hat and a toothpick between her teeth.
For the outfit, Vanessa rocked a blue, floral-patterned mini dress with a pleated design on the bottom. Overtop, she paired it with a puffy sleeve, blue and white plaid top that she tied up in the center.
“Howdy throwback to hosting my first award show @mtv,” Vanessa wrote.

"You said to keep him alive…!" "I was wrong." Lionsgate has debuted the official trailer for Wire Room, another action thriller with Bruce Willis just like the many other junk movies they've been churning out with Willis for the last few years. I keep wondering how many of these they have up their sleeves, after the reveal of his cognitive disorder in March at least three or four of these film have appeared. So sad. While on Wire Room duty – a high-tech command center surveilling the most dangerous criminals – a federal agent listens in as the target is attacked in his home by a hit squad. Without burning the wire yet, he must protect the investigation and the target's life from the confines of a room fifty miles away. The film stars Kevin Dillon, Bruce Willis, Oliver Trevena, Texas Battle, Cameron Douglas, & Shelby Cobb. There are so many of these generic,...
