The branding machine that is Bravo's "Top Chef" has lined up a new way to bring its chef-testants into your home -- by actually bringing the chef-testants into your home.
Bravo has partnered with Kitchit, an online service that brings chefs to private homes for dinner parties, cooking lessons and event catering, to offer up the services of more than a dozen of former "Top Chef" contestants. The promotion runs through Dec. 31 and features menus created by Season 2 winner Ilan Hall and former contestants Jamie Lauren, Nyesha Arrington and others.
In addition, fans can enter to win a dinner party for eight catered by one of four former "Top Chef" contestants -- Arrington, Marcel Vigneron, Chris Crary or Richard Farina -- through Kitchit. Fans can follow @BravoTopChef on Twitter and answer questions about their dream dinner party; the most original answers will win the prize.

Bravo, you've come a long way baby. The network celebrated its upfronts presentation to potential advertisers on Wednesday (March 30) in a big way with a bicoastal bash and by announcing it had picked up 11 new series for its 2011-2012 schedule.
At the Roosevelt Hotel in Los Angeles, the network hosted an intimate gathering to watch the "Top Chef: All Stars" finale live and proudly paraded its stable of Bravolebrities at the same time.
All smiles (for now) as "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" has officially been renewed for Season 2, it's Kim Richards, Camille Grammer, Kyle Richards, Adrienne Maloof, Taylor Armstrong, and Lisa Vanderpump with mini-bravoleb Giggy.
Blond and buxom as per usual, "The Real Housewives of Orange County's" Peggy Tanous, Vicki Gunvalson, and Tamra Barney.
New Bravo golden boy, Brad Goreski, may have left Rachel Zoe, but he has a new series on Bravo and obviously knows who he should buddy up to.

Out Top Chef All-Stars contestant Tiffani Faison was sent packing her knives last week, but not before revealing she had a girlfriend and showing viewers at home her softer side. The second-place finisher in the inaugural season of Top Chef returned to the competition with a more relaxed and grown-up attitude. She went home after a double elimination with fellow out chef Jamie Lauren when they both stumbled on separate fish dishes. But the Boston resident succeeded in showing off not only her skills but a playfulness people never got to see her first season. She spoke with AfterEllen.com about her experience the second time around.

AfterEllen.com: Hey Tiffani, congrats on making it as far as you did on Top Chef All-Stars. Were you disappointed/surprised to be sent packing when you were?
Tiffani Faison: Not at all. I had a great time,...

Another short week without NBC's Thursday Night line-up. So that this list means something (and by that, it's limited enough so that "Castle" doesn't make an entrance), there's only five episodes again in this week's Power Rankings, and neither of Showtime's new shows, "Shameless" or "Episodes," make an appearance. Hopefully, both will get better and make a run for the top 10 next week, when NBC's Thursday night-ers return (including "Parks and Recreation"), as does "Chuck" and, over on HBO, "Big Love."
5. Top Chef: spoilers. Finally, fucking finally: Jamie Lauren gets the boot, along with Tiffani Faison, in the double elimination challenge, which took pains, it seems, to avoid eliminating either Richard Blais or Marcel, since -- along with Fabio -- are the three most interesting to watch (even if Marcel is an evil little troll). I really couldn't abide one more episode of the whiny Jamie, though, so I'm glad to see her go.

Jamie Lauren was one of two contestants sent home from Top Chef this week. How does the All-Star feel about her depiction on the season? Not very well.
And that might be an understatement. Below, we've excerpted portions of Jamie's exit interview with E! News.
Why did she stop watching the season?
I think it went downhill in the editing. I know everything that happened because I was there. I didn't want to watch. It's sort of like watching a trainwreck, watching them edit me to pieces. It's really disappointing... They managed to make me look like I didn't want to be there, I didn't know how to cook and all of these things.
What does she want people to know?
I was there except for that one episode when I had to go to the hospital. I did cook in every episode... I do know how to cook. That's...

Jamie Lauren packed her knives on this week's episode of Top Chef: All-Stars, but fellow contestant Marcel Vigneron thought the elimination was long overdue.
"My friends and I were watching the episode last night, and one of the persons in the room was like, 'Who is she sleeping with?'" he told TVGuide.com Thursday while promoting his upcoming Syfy show, Marcel's Quantum Kitchen, at the Television Critics Association's winter previews.

Top Chef took its contestants out of the kitchen for a little fun in the sun with a fishing trip to Montauk, N.Y., this week. But of course there was a catch, pun intended. They had to reel in enough fish to serve to a group of 200 people later that night — and face a double elimination. Find out what castoff Jamie Lauren thought of the judges calling her dish too watery, why she was so shocked that she didn't get eliminated during the Chinatown challenge, and why she thought she got a bad edit this time around. After weeks of magically evading elimination from Top Chef-All Stars for her less-than-stellar food, cheftestant Jamie Lauren finally packed her knives in last night's episode.
I'm pretty sure everyone (other than my friend Phil, sorry love) agrees that she was the weakest chef in the competition. Not only was her food sub-par, but she whined every five f*cking seconds. In one episode, she cuts her finger and needs stitches, so she gets a hall pass out of the competition. Cop-out.
Now, she's pulling the typical sh*t that reality stars pull when they look like *ssholes on television. She blames the editing. Give me a break.

If the folks over at Bravo are thinking of inviting Jamie Lauren back for another round of Top Chef, they probably shouldn't waste their time. Jamie is not a happy camper. Sure, she was one of the two cheftestants sent home on All-Stars last night (Tiffani Faison was the other), but that's not what bothers her most. What's Jamie's beef? Read on to find out what she just told me... Did you watch last night's episode? I did not. I was busy working on a web series and by the time I got home I was too tired. But are you happy you can talk about the season now? I haven't really watched much of it. It sort of went downhill for me after episode two so I tried not...

Top Chef All-Stars' judges are defending their decision to send Casey Thompson home instead of Jamie Lauren, and they say it was simply because Casey's food was inedible--perhaps because she volunteered to work in the dining room during the dim sum challenge, an example of a chef once again being eliminated for doing too much instead of taking the easy way out. (And it's another somewhat controversial elimination for this season, which is perhaps inevitable...

It's Top Chef's 100 episode - and even Tom Colicchio joined the party by rolling up his sleeves and cooking for the first time ever on the Bravo show. And it wasn't just in good fun. Nope, Chef Tom laid down an imposing Quickfire challenge. The chefs would have to test their speed and ability and cook a dish in the time in took him to prep his own creation. In the end, it took Colicchio just eight minutes and 37 seconds to whip up black sea bass with clams, zucchini and tomatoes. "This will be the first and last time I do this,...

Let's give a big hootie-hoo to Carla Hall, who nabbed her first Top Chef: All-Stars victory in Wednesday's episode - a strenuous challenge that found the chefs competing head-to-head at the Us Open. Split into two teams - orange and yellow - the chefs each devised a dish that would be appropriate to serve to tennis players and Us Open-attendees. Translation: their food needed to be elegant, light and healthful. At first, it seemed like Hall could end up in the bottom: She insisted on making an African nut stew - healthy, sure, but not necessarily to the liking of her teammates.

A night at the museum was more like a nightmare for some contestants on Wednesday's Top Chef: All-Stars. In a demanding challenge, the 17 remaining chefs were asked in their Quickfire challenge to make a kid-friendly snack for a group of children who were spending the night at New York's American Museum of Natural History. Judging them - Joe Jonas, whose celebrity impressed some, like Antonia Lofaso, who said her young daughter would freak out if she knew her mom met the rocker. Others, like Dale Talde, weren't as star-struck. "I had no idea who Joe Jonas was," he said.

Last night, during Bravo's Top Chef reunion special, the cabler finally took the wraps off of one of television's worst-kept secrets: that next season of Top Chef would be an all-stars edition that would bring back 18 former contestants to battle it out for another chance at the title. Top Chef All-Stars will launch December 1st at 10 pm Et/Pt and will feature the return of Anthony Bourdain as well, as he segues from guest judge to full-on regular judge. Call it sweet justice for us fans, but after a snooze-worthy seventh season of Top Chef, the cooking competition is returning Dec. 1 (10 p.m.) for an All-Stars edition in New York City with some of our favorite past contestants, including Richard Blais (season 4), Fabio Viviani (season 5), Jennifer Carroll (season 6) and — the one I’m most excited about — Carla Hall (season 5). Judging by the full roster, Bravo went for talent in the kitchen as opposed to talent for drama, so expect a nail-biter of a season. Check out the complete list of 18 cheftestants who’ll duke it out:

After seven seasons, "Top Chef" tries to revamp it up with an All-Stars edition. 18 faces from previous seasons are brought back to the kitchen to fight each other and win the title of the ultimate Top Chef. The first look of who these great talents are has been released by TV Guide.
From season 1, there are Tiffani Faison and Steven Asprinio, the former of which almost won the competition against winner Harold Dieterle. Second season's personality Marcel Vigneron will join his former peer Elia Aboumrad. From season 3, Casey Thompson and Dale Levitski would put their friendship to rest for a battle in the kitchen against Texan Tre Wilcox.
Richard Blais from season 4 is reunited with Antonia Lofaso, Spike Mendelsohn and Dale Talde while fan favorite Fabio Viviani from season 5 is taking a second chance along with Jamie Lauren and Carla Hall. Representing 6th season are Jennifer Carroll and Mike Isabella...

The rumors are true. So if the "Top Chef: DC" finale annoyed you as much as it did most everyone else, you'll be pretty thrilled to know that the next season of Bravo's culinary competition is bringing back your favorite alums from the first seven outings.

If rumors are to be believed, Bravo is secretly planning an "All-Stars" season of their recently Emmy-winning "Top Chef" franchise. And though the network won't comment on the matter, a dozen competitors from previous seasons have been spotted with camera crews in New York.
Eater reports that all of the production isn't for a one-off special either, like previous "All-Star" efforts. It will be a full series following the format of regular "Top Chef," only with people we already love and don't have to spend several episodes getting to know.
This would be welcome news any time but comes as a particular relief this week after the lame and completely unjustified kick-off of Tiffany Derry, one week before final four jets off to Singapore. (Derry, if you were questioning the pertinence of this tangent, is among the cheftestants spotted on the New York set.)

The annual fundraiser for women-specific services of the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center, "An Evening With Women," was held this past weekend in Los Angeles. Nearly $400,000 was raised, and AfterEllen.com was fortunate enough to have two correspondents, Lesley Goldberg and Sarah Witness (our L.A. Scene columnist) in attendance to provide both red carpet interviews and a wish-you-were-there overview of the night.
The benefit also honored community leader Jewel Thais-Williams and featured appearances by Gina Gershon, Sarah Silverman, Linda Perry and Pink, Clementine Ford, Heart, Renée Zellweger, Kat Von D and Jamie Lauren.
On the red carpet, Lesley Goldberg spoke to Perry, Ford, Ann Wilson (of Heart), and Zellweger.

Riddle me this. What do you get when you combine over 10,000 happy lesbians, daily pool parties, nightly dance parties, and enough alcohol to keep Amy Winehouse occupied for five days? If you answered, "I don't know, but where do I sign up?" you wouldn't be the first. Actually, what you do get is the largest lesbian event in the world: The Dinah Shore Weekend in Palm Springs, California.
The desert extravaganza that's been described as "Lesbian Spring Break" is more than gay girls gone wild. I've been to three Dinah's and can tell you it's not for the weak, the straight, or the easily shocked. You haven't lived until you've seen topless girls hanging off a hotel balcony, swinging a blow up doll and waving to Leisha Hailey.

Get ready to unpack your knives and stay for a while. Top Chef is back, baby. The sixth season of the popular reality cooking competition premieres tonight. This season, 17 chefs compete to see if luck will be a lady for them in Las Vegas. Please, TV gods, find a way for the producers to get show host Padma Lakshmi in a showgirl outfit.
As in past seasons, the show features two out lesbian/bi chefs among the 17 competitors. They are:
Preeti Mistry, a 33-year-old Executive Chef for the Bon Appetit Management Company at Google just south of San Francisco and Ashley Merriman, a 32-year-old chef at Branzino in Seattle.
Preeti Mistry (left) and Ashley Merriman
I'm glad to see they're dutifully helping to fulfill the show's faux hawk and tattoo quotas.

Bravo has confirmed to us that there are two out lesbian/bi chefs among the 17 competitors on the sixth season of their popular cooking reality series, Top Chef: Las Vegas, premiering Wednesday, August 26th at 9 p.m. Et/Pt.
First is Preeti Mistry, a 33-year-old Executive Chef for the Bon Appetit Management Company at Google just south of San Francisco.
Preeti's official Top Chef bio reads:
Born in London and raised in the Us, Preeti’s Indian culture, extensive international travel, classic French culinary training and access to the best local California ingredients inspire her cooking. She enjoys building intense flavors, and truly shines when working with sauces, soups and vinaigrettes. Preeti’s commitment to seasonality, and her relationship with small local farmers are at the core of her cuisine. With the fifth season of Bravo's Top Chef just about half-way over, the sole survivor of Team Rainbow, Jamie Lauren, is still in the running. SFluxe.com caught up with the tattooed femme to talk about life back at work as executive chef of San Francisco's Absinthe Brasserie. The conversation, not surprisingly, turned to Lauren's new celesbian status. Unfortunately, we're offered no clues to the outcome of the contest.
On being a a celesbian:
It was never my intention. I mean obviously, being a queer woman, I wasn’t going to hide that from television. But that wasn’t the reason I went on the show, or anything like that. I think it’s great, but at the same time — and I’ve said this a lot — I’m a chef, first. And being lesbian is just part of who I am. It doesn’t define me as a chef.
