Michael Smith, Cornell University, has found that the worst place to be stung by a bee would be in the nostril, the Mirror reported.

He took agitated bees in forceps and applied them to 25 different areas of his body and then rated the resulting pain from zero to ten, while being stung thrice on each are.

The only thing more hilarious than Richard Sherman going off on Erin Andrews after the Seahawks won the Nfc Championship game, is the loud conversation being reenacted by Kermit and Miss Piggy.
Miss Piggy looks a little nervous! Kermit the Frog yells at his top pig in a new clip that has now gone viral, reenacting Richard Sherman. The corner for the Seattle Seahawks has now back pedaled on his rant, but we’ve got to say, seeing Miss Piggy as Erin Andrews getting really awkward, is so hilarious!

The designer of this year's ultimate Hollywood hangout has been named: Architect David Rockwell will create the 12th annual Architectural Digest Greenroom at the Oscars, the VIP hangout located to the side of the stage. One of the most high-profile design gigs in the Industry, past Oscar greenrooms have been designed by such prominent decorators as Madeline Stuart, Michael Smith and Waldo Fernandez. This year, Rockwell is working hand-in-hand with five-time Oscar nominee Susan Sarandon to create a space that is less aggressively decorated to the teeth and treated more like a soothingly neutral refuge for

Red Obsession co-director and co-writer David Roach says he made the documentary on power, passion and the Bordeaux fine wine industry as much for people like himself- a non-wine buff- as for those who love the stuff.
Judging by the opening weekend take of $92,000 at 18 cinemas last weekend, the docu is appealing to both segments of the audience.
That.s a solid number which Roach believes will help create a platform for DVD and TV sales and Video-on-Demand platforms.
Roach, who co-directed and co-wrote the film with the producer Warwick Ross, said the first weekend total is .better than we expected,. noting that it.s .always risky when you open a documentary on the big screen..
The filmmaker is full of praise for distributor Roadshow Films, stating, .They have given us the screens we wanted - the best art house cinemas in each capital city- and have been very supportive.

Hugh Douglas excelled on the defensive side of the ball during his NFL playing career, but an offensive he launched against an Espn colleague has cost him his TV gig. The sports giant has cut ties with Douglas in the wake of his threats and racial slurs inflicted on Michael Smith, his co-host on the ESPN2 program Numbers Never Lie, on August 2 at the Orlando House of Blues. Douglas, who has not appeared on the show since the incident, tweeted this morning, “I am very disappointed to be leaving Espn and will have more to say about this situation and my future at the appropriate time.” Espn has said only that Douglas is no longer with the network. The former All-Pro defensive end was at a National Association of Black Journalists convention event when he and Smith had an altercation that escalated into a screaming match. Douglas was fired from the station following a heated confrontation with his "Numbers Never Lie" co-host Michael Smith at the National Association of Black Journalists Convention on August 3. This cinema will come to you, if you're situated alongside a London canal. It's an appealing initiative, which began last year but returns with a new design, converting an old industrial barge into an eclectic touring show. You can step on to the boat for an intimate show of specially commissioned works and Michael Smith's new film about the River Lea plays later this month. There's also a horror weekend at Granary Square in King's Cross (9 & 10 Aug), and a fancy-dress screening of Tim Burton's Frankenweenie outside 3 Mills Studio, where it was made (23 Aug).

As was widely expected, President Barack Obama today named James Costos as next Ambassador to Spain. The HBO VP of Global Licensing and Retail was a big bundler for Obama’s reelection campaign last year and co-hosted fundraisers in both La and NYC along with his partner Michael Smith. Despite the big bucks Obama raised from Hollywood last year, Costos is the only industry member to be named to such a post so far. Another big Obama fundraiser Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour had been said to be angling to be named Ambassador to either her birth country of the United Kingdom or France but the Court of St. James post ended up going to other big money backer while the current rep in Paris, former Henson Company CEO Charles Rivkin, remains the same. Mike Nichols directed Richard Burton, Elizabeth Taylor, George Segal, and Sandy Dennis, from a screenplay by Ernest Lehman. Just in case you haven't seen the movie or read the book, there is now a stage adaptation of Breakfast at Tiffany's. With all the cheer and excitement of a funeral procession, this pseudo-play unwilling drags itself through the motions, regretting its very existence, wailing the question Why? -- which would be difficult for any audience member to answer. There is a real cat in this production, one of its livelier points, and it even had the good sense to leap out of its leading lady's arms and make a premature dash for the wings. At least someone knows when to jump ship on this sinking excuse of a needless imitation.
Emilia Clarke is beautiful, energetic, eager, and way out of her league in the role of Holly Golightly.
Chattering away on one sustained plane, with little variation, her performance would have stood-out in a college production, but is amateurish at this level.

The problem with taking a beloved movie and making it a play is that people have expectations.
In "Breakfast at Tiffany's" that's just the beginning. Expectations are not only missed, even once lowered, they are dashed completely.
I harbored none walking into Broadway's Cort Theatre. Except for the iconic image of Audrey Hepburn in her little black dress, pearls, diamonds and opera gloves, I have no strong memories of the 1961 film. Naturally no one should try to mimic Hepburn, and it has not gone well for actresses who have.
Emilia Clarke does not make that misstep. She is very much her own Holly Golightly. What that is, though, is not clear.
Fierce and increasingly self-confident as she is as Daenerys Targaryen in "Game of Thrones," here Clarke is just trying so hard that all we can see is her acting with a capital A. The result is not quite one-dimensional.

Emilia Clarke channeled Audrey Hepburn's glamour when she premiered her new play, Breakfast at Tiffany's, on Broadway last night. She wore a sheer Dolce & Gabbana frock as she worked the red carpet alongside her costar Cory Michael Smith and guests Jason Sudeikis and Olivia Wilde, who hugged and giggled at the theater. The play has been earning Emilia decent reviews, with one Huffington Post play critic admitting that while she doesn't fit the physical profile of Holly Golightly, she did a "more than acceptable job" living up to the iconic character. Emilia was in the Big Apple for the event while her Game of Thrones costars were busy celebrating the third season premiere of their hit HBO show in San Francisco. She did get to squeeze in some time with her castmates earlier this week when she dropped by the La premiere of Game of Thrones. View Slideshow ›...

New York -- If the cat is a potent symbol in the story of "Breakfast at Tiffany's," so too is it one in the new play version that has landed on Broadway.
A real cat appears in Holly Golightly's arms in Act 1 and seems, to put it mildly, dismayed. (In the last preview, it scratched the star on its way offstage.) The feline then reappears toward the end of the play to thoroughly undermine a key dramatic scene by waddling away nonchalantly. The cat is also there when the curtain falls, looking appropriately sleepy.
The cat – all three animals playing the part ludicrously get their own Playbill entries – is just one of the problems in this ill-conceived and poorly executed adaptation of a classic American tale that opened Wednesday at the Cort Theatre.
The many scenes stubbornly refuse to add up to much and it remains as flat as Golightly is supposed to be effervescent.

It's game over for the relationship between "Family Guy" head honcho Seth MacFarlane and "Game of Thrones" star Emilia Clarke. E! Online reports the pair have broken up, after getting together last year.
According to a source, "It was really a location challenge. She has been in Europe shooting 'Game of Thrones,' and he is based in California, so it was hard to make it work despite the distance." The source says the couple remain friends.
It's been a busy year for MacFarlane, who recently hosted the Oscars to a mixed reception, and says he will never do it again. Clarke has quite a bit going on herself. Beginning March 20, the actress will star as Holly Golightly in a production of "Breakfast at Tiffany's" on Broadway, alongside Cory Michael Smith as Fred.

New York — Emilia Clarke was auditioning to play one of America's most iconic heroines and wanted to impress. Her first scene required her to bite an apple.
"I was like, `Oh, yeah. I'm going to go all Daniel Day-Lewis on them. I'm going to bring my own apple!" the British actress recently recalled.
Everything was going well in the London rehearsal room until the character takes a bite. "I took this almighty hunk. I literally took half the apple in this one mouthful," she says, laughing.
As her scene partner and the director watched, stunned, Clarke kept going, despite a mouthful of fruit. "I remember being, `Well, I guess I have to kind of go there.'"
Whether it was due to her exuberance or sheer commitment, or a mixture of both, Clarke won the part, and what a part it is: Holly Golightly in a stage adaptation of Truman Capote's classic 1958 novella,...

Since when did Holly go nakedly?! Emilia Clarke gave audience members a night to remember on Monday, the star stripping down to her birthday suit for a surprisingly bare bubble bath scene during the first preview performance of Breakfast at Tiffany's on Broadway, according to the New York Post. "On Monday, it was a packed house including a huge contingent of fans of Game of Thrones," an apparently appreciative audience member told the paper. "What titillated the audience...was a full nude scene between Emilia and [male lead] Cory Michael Smith." The source continued, "She undresses him and he gets in the tub. "Game of Thrones" star Emilia Clarke has already stripped down on camera for the hit HBO series, but she caused a stir when she did the same on Broadway. Clarke became naked on stage during the play "Breakfast at Tiffany's", and the display caused attendees of the preview performance to break the strict "no photos" policy.
During the scene in question, Clarke's Holly Golightly strips male lead Cory Michael Smith -- who also goes fully nude -- before he climbs into a tub. Clarke reportedly then walks offstage and comes back in a towel, dropping it before climbing into the tub herself. It was at this point that attendees started taking photos. "You don't see everything. There are bubbles strategically placed," a source tells The New York Post.

Once Emilia, 26, stepped out of a bubble bath as Holly Golightly in only her birthday suit, many people in the crowd blatantly ignored the Cort Theatre’s strict “no photos” rule and began frantically snapping away with their cellphones.

In this roundup from the Encore and Mumbrella Annual, we revisit the year’s biggest TV hits.
1. The Voice
With at least three singing shows having come before it on Aussie TV, The Voice was going to have to do something spectacular to deliver a ratings hit. The show debuted with 2.177m viewers with the finale attracting an average metro audience of 3.098m according to OzTam. No other show on the box this year came close to matching the overall performance across the series with most episodes hovering around the 2m viewer mark.
2. Puberty Blues
Ten may have had a year to forget but one shining light in the network’s line-up was Southern Star-produced drama Puberty Blues. Whether it was the story, based on the 1970s novel of the same name, the performance of the cast or attention to detail that made this show a hit, it consistently delivered around one million views.

Four big-time Hollywood donors are on Barack Obama's shortlist for ambassadorships, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The new report claims White House decorator Michael Smith, money manager John Emerson, Tennis Channel executive Ken Solomon and philanthropist Colleen Bell are among those being considered for the diplomatic assignments. All are either based in Los Angeles and/or have strong ties to the entertainment sector.
A number of other entertainment and media figures have already been floated. Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour -- one of the campaign's most determined surrogates -- is rumored to be interested in a position in the U.K. or France (and even Donald Trump is a fan of the idea).
The Obama campaign received heavy support from the entertainment industry, with celebrities from Jay-z to Harvey Weinstein coming through in big ways for the President's reelection bid.
Some of Obama's top donors, however, are unlikely to have time for an ambassadorship.

This story first appeared in the Jan. 10 issue of The Hollywood Reporter magazine. Attention, Hollywood political donors: The Obama administration has begun the delicate post-election process of deciding which key supporters to reward with coveted diplomatic appointments, and THR has learned that at least four fundraisers with close showbiz connections are under consideration. Among the Barack Obama loyalists under consideration for ambassadorial appointments are Los Angeles-based White House decorator Michael Smith, 47; Hollywood philanthropist and television producer Colleen Bell, 45; industry money manager John Emerson, 57; and Tennis Channel chief Ken Solomon, 49. The Whale Playwrights Horizons, NYC
Leaving a play with the sense that you need a minute to walk off the weight of its strength is a rare and wonderful sensation. It means that the work has hit you, that its words have somehow found their way through the cracks of the protective exterior we all wear to get through the day and reached the vulnerable core where we are still capable of change. This is the place where good plays are meant to take hold, and The Whale, currently running at Playwrights Horizons, is one of these extraordinary plays. Plunging into a depth of unconventional characters adrift in a sea of uncovered territory, playwright Samuel D. Hunter has harpooned an unlikely hero and the swells of torment and love that surround him.

Washington — Walk into any Sweetgreen restaurant and alongside your locally grown mesclun topped with organic dressing you're likely to get a helping of Hot Chips – the band, not the food.
"Music for us is part of our DNA," says Jonathan Neman, the 27-year-old co-founder of the Washington restaurant chain. In fact, he and his two partners care so much about the music that plays in their dozen locations, they personally crafted the playlists, creating eclectic blends that run from The Cure to today's British indie Blood Orange.
"When you're dining the food is important, the smell is important, the way it looks is important. And what you're listening to is important," he said.
Until recently, many restaurants were content to turn on the radio or let the manager fire up his iPod. But for a growing number of foodies and restaurateurs, what's on the playlist is almost as important as what's on the menu.

If there's one thing we know for sure about the latest episode of Mad Men, it's this: All this soapiness can mean only one thing. People are about to die. You simply can't have so many soap suds flying around without folks slipping and hitting their heads on the sharp edges of all the symbols lying about.
Heh.
I wrote this sentence in the second paragraph of "Mad Men (Finally) Returns: Worth the Wait?," my piece here on the Huffington Post about the Mad Men season premiere: "I confess to a certain diffidence about it all, all two hours of it."
I have more than a certain diffidence about the latest episode, which takes us into the final third of a great show's uneven fifth season.
As always, there be some spoilers ahead. Incidentally, you can see all my Mad Men pieces, going back to 2009, here in The Mad Men File.

One of the longest pitches in recent memory, Optus, has ended in relief for ad agency incumbent M&C Saatchi and misery for Mpg, which has lost the media business after nine years of service.
However, the pitch, which lasted ten months and cost agencies an estimated 8,000 man hours, will not mean the end of the Mpg brand in Australia, a Havas spokesperson has told Mumbrella.
Mpg, which staff and clients to resource the re-launch of Aegis Media agency Vizeum in January, is 80% owned by Aegis and 20% by Havas, the French communications group that fully owns the Mpg brand in other markets.
Havas Media’s Asia Pacific CEO Vishnu Mohan told Mumbrella: “There is absolutely no question of the Mpg brand stopping its operations in Australia. We are a global network with a presence in 122 markets through the brands that we have across mainstream media, digital, mobile and sports & entertainment.
