Jim Lordeman
- Music Department
- Composer
Born in Texas, and moved to Tennessee Jim Lordeman has always loved
music. Starting with drums and percussion, progressing to the piano,
composition, voice, guitar, and more, Jim has also sought to discover,
capture, and recreate the rhythms, melodies, and harmonies of life.
2007 brought his first compositional premier, and from that point on he
knew that composition was his true calling. That year saw his
relocation to Chicago to begin earning his Bachelor of Music Degree in
Composition at Columbia College of Chicago. After graduation he also
pursued a Master of Fine Arts in Music Composition for the Screen from
Columbia College of Chicago.
Over his six years of college and graduate school he had several compositions premiered and recorded by ensembles including members from the award-winning new music ensemble Dal Niente, The Chicago Composer's Orchestra, and a 23-piece orchestra of A-list Hollywood studio musicians. During that time he also performed regularly including shows in venues such as the Chicago Hard Rock Cafe, Chicago's legendary Jazz Workshop, historic blues club Buddy Guy's Legends, the UIC Pavillion and Carnegie Hall.
