Watching these TV spots for Alfonso Cuarón’s Gravity is always a nail biter for me. Luckily these TV spots are short as I have little nails left to be biting after all the awesome media released for this movie starring Sandra Bullock and George Clooney. Check them out below!

George Clooney and Sandra Bullock play two astronauts stuck in space in director Alfonso Cuarón’s “Gravity,” and according to two real astronauts, everyone involved in the production did an appropriate amount of research. “Somebody did their homework,” Nasa astronaut Dr. Mike Massimino says in a new featurette for the upcoming IMAX release of the Warner Bros. film. “Everything is exactly what it was like on our mission.” Also read: A Real-Life Astronaut Reviews ‘Gravity’ – ‘I Want to Fly With Sandra Bullock’ Massimino was one of the astronauts featured in the documentary “IMAX Hubble 3D,” which Cuarón says was the “bible” for the fictional.

If there’s one thing The Big Bang Theory loves above all else, it’s its ability to grab just about any celebrity even remotely considered nerdy for a guest spot or cameo. The latest handpicked celebrity is out of this world, or at least he was when he was blasted into space in 1969 as part of the first manned lunar landing. You probably guessed by now Buzz Aldrin will be making a cameo appearance in an upcoming episode of Big Bang Theory, which will probably result in Howard crapping his pants in excitement, assuming he gets to meet him. But I can’t think of any other reason to have Aldrin on the show considering Howard will be spending the beginning of the current season in space.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Aldrin filmed his cameo for the Oct. 25 episode, “The Holographic Excitation.” The episode will see the group...

The second man to walk on the moon is stepping foot into CBS' The Big Bang Theory. Buzz Aldrin has booked a cameo on the nerdy comedy, CBS has announced. Aldrin, who in 1969 was aboard the first manned lunar landing flight on Apollo 11, will cameo in the Oct. 25 episode, "The Holographic Excitation," when the gang celebrates Halloween. Photos: Behind the Scenes: 'The Big Bang Theory' Aldrin becomes the show's second astronaut to guest star, joining Mike Massimino, who plays himself and recurs as a member of Howard's (Simon Helberg) shuttle crew. The Big Bang Theory exec producer Chuck Lorre is fond of saying that the show isn’t Lost — there’s no grand plan in place building to a revelatory event at the end of the season. Be that as it may, the fifth season of Big Bang has been leading directly to tonight’s finale: the wedding of Howard Wolowitz (Simon Helberg) and Bernadette Rostenkowski (Melissa Rauch), and Howard’s on-again, off-again, on-again mission to the International Space Station. Both of those events converge tonight, and the question is: Will the wedding happen? Will Howard go through with the mission?...

Because The Big Bang Theory knows how to send its own show out with a big “bang,” for its 5th season finale it invited Nasa astronaut Mike Massimino to make a special guest appearance. The timing was perfect. In the upcoming episode entitled “The Countdown Reflection,” Howard Wolowitz (played by Simon Helberg) is given the chance of a lifetime — to go into space. Assisting, coaching and a times heckling Howard, Mike Massimino plays himself and clearly has a ball in the process. Being one of the few men privileged enough to travel into space, Mike knows that no man – even one on the verge of getting married – can resist the temptation of outer space. The finale wrestles with the conflict of Howard as he is torn between the call to venture beyond Earth’s borders, and his own personal happiness with his intended bride Bernadette (Melissa Rauch). The tug-of-war of...

Here's some news that's out of this world. Real astronaut Mike Massimino is coming back to "The Big Bang Theory" for the show's season finale, this according to TV Guide.
As fans of the show know, Massimino appeared earlier in the season when Howard (Simon Helberg) was attempting to give himself an astronaut nickname. While he was hoping for something really cool like "Rocketman," Howard ended up earning the moniker "Froot Loops." The publication adds that Massimino is back as the trip to the Space Station nears.
So this begs the question, will Howard's space travel plans conflict with his wedding to Bernadette (Melissa Rauch)? And given the choice of one or the other, what will he pick?
If we're guessing, they'll attempt to do both. The scenario we envision is a cliffhanger where, due to scheduling problems, Howard and Bernadette have to get married via earth-to-space video conference. When...

Earlier in the week some of you were suggesting that I drop the "Intern" part of my name since I have graduate. It's very kind of you, but puts me in a bind because I'm the one who chose the term "Intern Rusty" so that prospective employers googling me didn't necessarily turn up discussions of thrush and what shows are best for the casual viewer who appreciates handsome men but not plot. (I have a fairly unusual name.) However, I am open to the idea of a new title so if you've got suggestions please let me know. Here's your Thursday night TV:

Tune in alert for some notable programs from National Geographic Channel this week. First, in the season premiere of "Known Universe" this Thursday, May 5, Astronaut Mike Massimino, who appears in all 8 new episodes, is the first person to send a Tweet from Space (@Astro_Mike). He will be showing us what it's like to live in space - like, going to bathroom in zero gravity (see video below). Secondly, in the mid-season episode of "Shark Men" this Sunday, May 8, the crew encounters a 17 foot 9 inch long shark, which makes me resolve to never swim in the ocean again as it the largest great white shark ever captured, recorded, and released to date.

With the Space Shuttle program readying to hang up its hat, the time is right to start feeling nostalgic for the great American space program.
Our scientists and astronauts will continue to work, but for a good decade or so we'll be hitching a ride on dirty, rotten, commie Soyuz rockets. It's a good thing Sam Shepherd isn't alive to see all this. (There's about four different facts wrong in that last sentence, but let's move on.)
Putting all that aside, let's celebrate the movie IMAX: Hubble 3D - a film I absolutely loved and is now available on DVD, download and, if you can get your butt to Best Buy for an exclusive, on Blu-ray.
In this clip you can see Mike Massimino (better known as @Astro_Mike on Twitter) showing off one of the shuttle's simulators.

In “Hubble 3D”, a IMAX 3D camera chronicles the effort of 7 astronauts aboard the Space Shuttle Atlantis to repair the Hubble Space Telescope. Let’s face it, if you love the idea of space travel, or just space at all, this is like space porn to you. Check your local IMAX area theaters for screening information. Trailer and clip below. Featuring Astronaut badasses Scott D. Altman, Andrew J. Feustel , Michael T. Good, John M. Grunsfeld, Gregory C. Johnson, Michael J. Massimino, and K. Megan McArthur. Movie star Leonardo DiCaprio takes time out from banging hot chicks and supermodels to narrate.

Naps are awesome. While I do wish I was employed in a more regular and definitely a more gainful fashion, one of the big advantages of my current situation is that it allows for nearly daily naps. I think people would be much happier if nap time was a feature through all your life and not just something for pre-schoolers. Think of it; just a two hour break in the middle of the day. You wouldn't have to nap, you could just read or take a leisurely lunch, but why would you? You can do those things when it's not nap time. Anyway, I was just reflecting on that since I'll be napping immediately after I finish this column. Here's your Wednesday night TV:

Ah, spring. When a young man's fancy turns to love. Or, in the case I've been witnessing up close and personal for the last several hours, a young bug's thoughts. Those bugs, feeling no moral compass that would direct them otherwise, indulge those thoughts. This makes them stupid and slow and vulnerable to some very large predators in the central Florida area known as "windshields". We've had to get ours scrubbed twice since leaving Miami. It's gross. Here's what's on TV tonight:

Director Toni Myers and Astronaut Mike Massimino - part of the filmmaking team behind the new movie "IMAX Hubble 3D" - recently sat down with MakingOf to discuss the technical challenges filming in space presents and to explain how each astronaut was trained to be a cinematographer. Their film chronicles the daring mission in 2009 to repair the Hubble Space Telescope and is comprised entirely of footage secured by the crew.
During this interview, the duo describes how the Hubble experience was made into a 3D film and reveal that turning the cameras on and off was a part of the astronaut's daily check lists. Myers also shares that she was "wonderfully surprised by the footage" she received and that she had a "wealth of material" to turn into 3D in post production.
The film is narrated by Leonardo DiCaprio and is currently playing in select cities.

When filming a documentary about a telescope that runs 43.5 feet in length, you might want to use the biggest cameras around, which is exactly what director/producer and IMAX veteran Toni Myers did for Hubble 3D. The film follows the crew of the Sts-125 shuttle flight, including astronaut Michael Massimino, as they went on their final mission to service and repair the Hubble Space Telescope.
Myers and Massimino sat down with Cinematical just before the film's world premiere at this year's South by Southwest Film Festival to discuss the awe of spacewalks, the perils of looming budget cuts and the ever frustrating practicality of going to the bathroom in zero gravity.
As narrated by Leonardo DiCaprio, Hubble 3D opens on more than forty screens this Friday and will expand its release in coming months.

A mission specialist on the space shuttle Atlantis announced this week that he will use Twitter from space during the shuttle's next mission in May.
If you're wondering whether Nasa has some kind of built-in tweet software on the space shuttle, well, it doesn't. The agency's engineers are going to have to figure out a way for the astronaut, Mike Massimino, to transmit his 140-character updates while out in the ether.
Massimino isn't exactly a Twitter veteran; in fact, he's only been using the microblogging service for two weeks, while he underwent training for his mission. After a few dozen tweets about physical conditioning, doctor's visits, interviews and R&R, he had amassed over 110,000 followers. Nasa, whose PR team conceived the idea to tweet the training, decided that the popularity of Massimino's feed warranted part two--from space.
