So many familiar faces popped up in “Part 5” of Showtime’s Twin Peaks revival — and I think we can see all the far-flung storylines just starting to come together. But it was a minor footnote that finally got me bubbling over with excitement. As the credits rolled, a familiar name popped up in the crawl: angular young actor Eamon Farren is playing (drumroll) “Richard Horne.” That’s Horne, as in Horne’s Department Store, and “I’m Audrey Horne and I get what I want.” (And yes I stood up from my couch and screamed out “He’s a Horne!

Wreck-It Ralph is heading back to the big screen, and this time, he’s wrecking the internet. The Oscar®-nominated Walt Disney Animation Studios team from the original film is reteaming for the follow-up, including director Rich Moore (“Zootopia,” “The Simpsons”) and producer Clark Spencer (“Zootopia,” “Bolt”). Phil Johnston (writer, “Wreck-It Ralph,” “Zootopia,” “Cedar Rapids”) joins Moore as director and a writer on the project. John C. Reilly and Sarah Silverman return as the bad-guy-turned-good, Ralph, and the girl with the game-winning glitch, Vanellope von Schweetz. The untitled sequel will hit theaters—literally—on March 9, 2018.

Coeur D’Alene, Idaho – She was a lesson in duality. One of her most famous roles was as “identical cousins” on “The Patty Duke Show,” and Anna Marie “Patty” Duke also made public her fight with bipolar disorder. Inspired by the realities and legends surrounding the Winchester Mystery House, the 2002 mini-series Rose Red, written for the screen by Stephen King, centers around a desperate psychology professor and her team of psychics exploring the haunted Rose Red mansion. On the outside, Rose Red is a looming beast of a house that literally builds itself as it looks out over metropolitan Seattle; it’s a classic haunted mansion with gates and walls covered in dead vines and yards filled with mossy statues and clouds of fog. But within, it’s a fluctuating puzzle of dark, beautiful hallways and rooms where ghosts lead visitors to their doom.
Part of Rose Red’s charm comes from its characters. Matt Ross (American Psycho) is stunning as Emery, an anti-social, “momma’s boy” with the ability to see the dead, and Julian Sands is effortlessly charming as the mindreading Nick Hardaway. Nancy Travis has...

This week's wedding-themed episode of Community is so near the knuckle, it could only be made on the internet...
This review contains spoilers.
6.12 Wedding Videography
“Britta, tonight every one of us is the worst. Take a night off.”
Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today for a sitcom wedding. But one week after another paintball episode, Community gives us Wedding Videography, an episode that is way closer to Game Of Thrones than Friends. In short, the kind of episode so ballsy and leftfield, you could only make it on the internet.
In the same style as the previous Documentary Filmmaking episodes of seasons two, three and four, Abed is strictly behind the camera this week. Fellow student and oft-mocked “human spillage” Garrett (Eric Charles Nielsen) wants Abed to film his marriage proposal to Stacy, (Harmontown's Erin McGathy.) his Law classmate and girlfriend of the past 16 months, four weeks and two days.

Jake (Ken Marino) and Annie (Casey Wilson) won't be the only ones feeling the love on NBC's Marry Me (Tues., 9/8) in the new year. TV Guide Magazine has learned exclusively that comic Rob Riggle (who previously appeared on Wilson's Happy Endings as the world's most obnoxious — and ill-fated — mail carrier) and absolute scream Natasha Leggero (Let's be Cops) are guesting on an as-yet-unscheduled 2015 episode.

Sitcoms, like every other TV genre, start off with something Buzzy and Conceptual to grab audience attention, before jettisoning it, to some extent, to get down to the business of what the show is actually about. Which, more often than not in sitcom-land, is the dating misadventures of a group of friends in a large city.
Marry Me, the NBC sitcom about a long-term couple about to get engaged, fits this mold. It was created by David Caspe and stars Casey Wilson, who previously worked together on Happy Endings, a fantastic ABC comedy that ran for three seasons before getting cancelled. One reason this former effort never quite garnered viewing momentum was that it took too long to move past the initial Big Concept; the series was ostensibly about the will-they-won’t-they of formerly engaged couple Dave and Alex, who in the pilot fail to get married when Alex (Elisha Cuthbert...

Casey Wilson and Ken Marino are perfectly matched, niche comedians, and NBC‘s latest effort, Marry Me, looks to be a vehicle perfectly constructed for them. Of course, that still leaves open the question of whether or not people are going to jump on board. Brought to you by one of the writers of Happy Endings, and obviously with one of its stars, the show has a connection to the comedic stylings of that show, but clearly pulls from the “cornier” comedic abilities of Wilson and Marino. Also like Happy Endings, the show’s only chance at survival is to run as far and as fast as it can from its opening gimmick.
The show centers on a couple who have been dating for six years, and opens as they return from a romantic vacation. The pilot is basically one long joke, which doesn’t exactly solidly establish what you...

A wise woman once said, “If you liked it, then you shoulda put a ring on it.”
And on NBC’s Marry Me, which debuted Tuesday, our protagonist Annie has really taken that to heart.
Played by Happy Endings‘ Casey Wilson, Annie’s is more than a little antsy to be engaged to longtime boyfriend Jake (Veronica Mars‘ Ken Marino), a point she makes quite clear after Jake doesn’t propose on their luxurious vacation… or so Annie thinks. Completely oblivious to the fact that Jake is on bended knee behind her, Annie goes on a cringe-inducing rant once the pair returns home,...

I wrote about NBC's "Marry Me" — and about my wish that I could have seen some more episodes beyond the very premise-y, very grating pilot episode — this morning. Now it's your turn. For those of you who watched tonight, what did you think? Did you find the opening scene hilarious or did it turn you off? Did you come out of the pilot liking Annie and/or Jake? How did you feel about the friends and assorted parents? If you're a "Happy Endings" fan, how did the experience of the two compare? And will you watch again? Have at it. I will try to check back in again sometime in the next few weeks. Hopefully, I'll like upcoming episodes more.

Two comedy favorites, Casey Wilson and Ken Marino, are about to become the couple you love to watch on the new NBC sitcom, "Marry Me."
You've probably seen writer and actor Ken Marino in one of his many comedy classics, including "Wet Hot American Summer," "Role Models," or "Party Down." Casey can currently be seen on the big screen in "Gone Girl," but you may also know her as the ah-ma-zing Penny Hartz on the sadly short-lived sitcom, "Happy Endings."
Now the hilarious pair play Jake and Annie, a newly-engaged duo who deal with the awkward, silly, and highly relatable trials and tribulations that come with a relationship. The show starts out with a proposal, but don't expect to just watch wacky wedding drama around picking a dress or losing a ring here.

Ironic that in a fall season where so many new romantic comedies are fighting for our attention, and maybe even our affection, I'm still waiting to fall in love. Maybe it's the Goldilocks syndrome of being necessarily picky: one's too gimmicky (Manhattan Love Story), one's too generic (A to Z), one's too self-consciously trendy (Selfie), none seems just right.
Last of the batch to arrive, and thankfully not the least, NBC's brash and hyper-verbal farce Marry Me (Tuesday, 9/8c) is at least worth falling in "like" with, especially if your own heart was broken by ABC's cancellation of Happy Endings a year or so ago. (Note: For reasons that will seem obvious by the time you're done, this isn't exactly a review, and any grade I might apply would be a simple Incomplete. Will revisit down the road.) Once upon a time, David Caspe created a sitcom that co-starred Casey Wilson, and that opened with a high-concept, marriage-related premise pilot featuring all the characters behaving in such a grating manner that I took an instant dislike to it. That show was "Happy Endings," and it grew on me in time, eventually becoming one of TV's funniest sitcoms (if an often uneven one) before ABC gave up on it after a few seasons. If you’re hoping to see some of Hollywood’s biggest celebrities on NBC’s fall comedy Marry Me (premiering Oct. 14), stars Casey Wilson and Ken Marino have some bad news.
“I’m going to say a couple of names,” Marino says, tongue planted firmly in cheek.“George Clooney… Meryl Streep…” — He points to Wilson when she suggests Kim Kardashian — “…will not be on the show.”
Still, despite a lack of Academy Award winners (and one polarizing reality TV star), Marry Me still packs quite the comedic punch. Starring Happy Endings’ Wilson and Childrens Hospital’s Marino as odd couple Annie and Jake,...

Before you even start reading this story, we'll give you a moment to go and set your DVR to record NBC's new comedy Marry Me, premiering Tuesday night, October 14 at 9/8c. Ok, all set? Cool. You'll thank us later, because you won't want to miss the new series staring the hilarious Casey Wilson (Happy Endings, anyone?) and Ken Marino (of Eastbound & Down fame). There's so much that goes into the making of a new comedy: super funny actors and an awesome premise, for one. And Marry Me has that in spades. The show is inspired by series creator David Caspe's real-life marriage to actress Casey Wilson (who plays Annie in the show), so already our interest is piqued. But then there are...

On NBC's upcoming comedy Marry Me, Happy Endings star Casey Wilson will trade in single girl Penny for Annie, a woman who's been in a steady six-year relationship with Jake (Ken Marino). "Annie is slightly less desperate than Penny," Wilson said at the Television Critics Association fall previews on Sunday. "I'll try to do subtle difference between the characters. I’m back! It’s been a long time and I apologise for that, moving house turned out to be a far far longer process than I anticipated or had been led to believe. Three weeks turned into six, six weeks turned into three months and now here we are.
Aside from the length of time it takes, moving house was a real eye opener in other areas too. Specifically in terms of how I inform you week on week of all of this wonderful content available to stream and then how you have to put up with lacklustre delivery from various ISPs. I was living in someone else’s house on a connection that was not my own, not wanting to name names but there is one of the big three ISP’s in the UK which boasts about having one of, if not the, fastest broadband delivery on...

Do you ever think, gee, I just can't get enough of the hackneyed tropes and predictable plot twists I remember from cheesy romcoms? Probably not, but fingers crossed "Marry Me" isn't the vehicle to deliver them in any case. This trailer hits just about every annoying romantic comedy cliche you can imagine short of a Kate Hudson cameo, but you can't fault the talent involved -- Casey Wilson of “Happy Endings” plays Annie and Ken Marino of “Eastbound & Down” is Jake, the couple who just can't get this engagement thing right. Still, there was much to learn from this first trailer. What a wacky sitcom couple! 1) Always start a mud-slinging argument with your back turned. Sure, maybe it makes sense not to make eye contact with your boyfriend when you're confronting him about his failure as a living embodiment of Prince Charming... at first. Unless we discover Annie is legally blind,...

'Community' recap: In 'Repilot' and 'Introduction to Teaching' everything changes and stays the same
"Community" Season 5 was never supposed to happen. Shows with low ratings, no awards and a lack of obvious network love don't just get to come back. They definitely don't come back down one star and with a fired-then-rehired showrunner.
Somehow, however, that's exactly what happened. "Community" has returned for 2014 and begins with back-to-back episodes: "Repilot" and "Introduction to Teaching."
The setup
First thing you need to know: Some time has passed since the end of Season 4. Jeff has gone off to resume practicing law -- only now he's a "good" lawyer, vanquishing monster robots and such -- while the rest of the study group somehow managed to graduate from Greendale. They're all off working, leaving the study room to serve as an asbestos-laden file room.
It's too bad that nothing much is working out for Greendale and its alumni.
Jeff is going bankrupt and the school is about to be sued by Alan,...
