Discovery+ has ordered three more one-hour episodes of the former one-off special, “Luda Can’t Cook,” TheWrap has learned.
The original one-hour special saw rapper, actor and restauranteur Chris “Ludacris” Bridges get schooled in international cuisine. Pretty much the one thing Bridges hasn’t done — and clearly, from the special, couldn’t do — is cook. In the original February special, which came from executive producer Will Packer, Ludacris tackled Indian cuisine with the help of James Beard Award-nominated chef Meherwan Irani.
Future specials will explore a variety of flavors and cooking techniques from across the globe. “Luda Can’t Cook” is produced for Discovery+ by executive producers Packer and Kelly Smith from Will Packer Media and Matt Kelly and Mike Sorensen from Anomaly Entertainment.
“Our audience loved watching Ludacris accept an unexpected challenge,” Courtney White, the president of Food Network and Cooking Channel, told TheWrap. ”He is unrivaled in the...

In every police drama, there's always an episode where the cops become the hunted instead of the hunter. It's a natural source of drama and moreso now considering current events. Chicago Pd Season 4 Episode 8 takes advantage of that to full effect while also writing out two characters - one in a good way and the other not so much.
"A Shot Heard Round The World" focuses on a sniper who kills two uniformed Cpd officers, and couldn't be more topical. Commander Crowley even makes a reference to the Dallas shooter when speaking with Voight. It's enough to make you pause and recall that not only can things like this happen - they have happened.
Pd differentiates itself from reality by not making its story ultimately about a citizen disgruntled with the police, which is smart because it's already approached that issue a few times this season on Chicago Pd Season...

Every cop show has the episode where someone close to a main character is the prime suspect. Chicago Pd Season 4 Episode 6 is one of those episodes. It doesn't give the audience anything new, but it does put Elias Koteas front and center as Olinsky gets to sit on the hot seat.
One of Olinsky's oldest friends, baseball player and recovering addict Jake McCoy, is in Cpd's crosshairs when teenage prostitute Maya Collins (that's Violett Beane of The Flash fame) winds up dead in his home. Jake naturally swears up and down that he didn't murder the girl.
It comes out right away that Olinsky is friends with Jake but it's a bit surprising that he doesn't volunteer that information. The team - and the audience - have to find out when Antonio finds a picture of Jake with Olinsky in the house. And Olinsky then gets tetchy with Antonio when...

Say what? Let me rewind that promo trailer I just saw (which millions of others also saw during Nick Wallenda’s Chicago skyline walk) in which a man gets eaten by a snake in Discovery Channel’s new Eaten Alive airing on Sunday, Dec. 7 at 9pm Et/Pt. How is that possible? The idea of a human willing to be consumed by a 20-foot-plus anaconda in an attempt to gain more knowledge on the majestic creatures sounds downright crazy. I mean, couldn’t we just study them from afar? When you talk with Discovery’s executive producer Mike Sorensen, who is behind the two-hour … Continue reading →
